Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Enemies Encounter on the Narrow Road (3)
Anyway, he’s just an old man from the countryside, without the quality and etiquette often mentioned by city folks. It might have been bearable before, but if anyone dares to bully his daughter Felicia in the future, he, as a father, would be the first to object.
"Great!" Daisy’s mother was overjoyed, and immediately went inside to pack.
Seeing their parents like this, Daisy Willow naturally couldn’t refuse. Returning to her room, she secretly called Celia Wade to tell her about this, but Celia was happily suggesting, "Isn’t there an extra room at home? Let Uncle and Auntie stay there instead of a hotel. A house should be lively."
Since a huge change happened to her family, Celia has been living a lonely life without her parents. When she heard Daisy’s parents were coming, Celia was naturally overjoyed and super welcoming.
"...Isn’t this inappropriate?" Daisy was still hesitating.
"What’s inappropriate about it? What time are you guys arriving tomorrow? Since it’s a weekend, I can ask Carolline Ruiz for a ride to the station to pick you guys up." Celia Wade was lying on the couch watching TV, leisurely munching on sunflower seeds, "Will Uncle and Auntie look down on me since I know virtually nothing?
"Why would they? Thank you so much, Celia." Daisy laughed, she was worried that Celia would feel imposed on by their sudden visit while Celia, the adorable girl, was worried about making a bad impression to her parents.
"Stop overthinking, alright, then it’s settled. What time will you get here? I will arrive early to pick you up." Celia didn’t like Daisy being too formal with her. After all, they were both women having similar predicaments.
"Probably around two in the afternoon, we’ll be getting off at the East Railway Station." Daisy calculated the time.
"Okay, it’s decided then. I won’t keep you from packing." Celia ended the call very considerately.
With this issue settled, Daisy felt much more relaxed.
The next day, Daisy set off cheerfully with her parents and Elena.
When they were close to G city, Daisy received a call from Simon Carrington. He asked her what time she would arrive and Daisy said it would be around two, after which Simon asked her to meet at five to sign some documents.
Daisy agreed by nodding her head.
"Mom, was that Uncle Simon?" Due to poor sound insulation on Daisy’s phone, Simon’s voice could be heard.
"Yes." Daisy nodded at Elena.
"Who is this Uncle Simon?" Daisy’s father, who was sitting in the front, heard Elena’s question and turned to ask.
If the divorce was Cole Duncan’s fault, then they certainly would fully support their daughter. But what if it was their daughter’s fault, like for example, this Uncle Simon that Elena was mentioning?
"Dad, he’s my attorney. His name is Simon. He once gave Elena a toy as a gift, so Elena calls him Uncle Simon." Daisy explained in detail.
Daisy knew her father well, and she knew by the way he asked that he must have misunderstood something.
"Oh, I see. Elena, from now on, let your grandparents buy the toys you like for you. We should try not to accept things from others for no reason, okay?" Daisy’s father instructed Elena.
Daisy remained silent. While they had been poor before, her father’s philosophy had always been that poverty does not mean lack of dignity, and they should not accept favors without merit. So him learning that Elena was accepting gifts from others out of the blue would definitely be disapproved.
"Okay, I understand, Grandpa." Elena nodded.
"Our Elena is so obedient." Seeing Elena obediently agreeing, Daisy’s father was overjoyed, he immediately promised her, "When we get back and have a rest, Grandpa will take you."
