After that, Carolline asked Mia Parker to make an appeal for the two children on television, and they received another round of donations in their fathers’ accounts. But the endless pit of their illnesses required more money than they had for continued treatment.

The children’s parents were both ordinary-wage earners. On Friday, a charity banquet would be held to appeal to G City’s wealthy residents for donations, which would then be distributed to the eligible children and families.
