Emily Hill got up to prepare breakfast. At eight o’clock, Bryan Hawkins came out of Carolline Ruiz’s room. Seeing him alone, Emily’s face immediately darkened, "Didn’t Carolline come back last night?"

"She was probably helping a friend, so..." Bryan could imagine what Carolline had been busy with last night. He came back early without telling her, intending to surprise her. As he had asked her to stay at her mother’s place these past few days, he came straight to the Ruiz family home upon his return. Little did he know, he would be waiting all night in vain.

He had tried to call Carolline. The call went through but no one answered. When he got up again and tried to call her, her phone was turned off. Probably out of battery.

"What kind of friend requires help all night?" Emily disagreed, "Listen, Bryan, you can’t spoil her. A woman, before or after marriage, should never stay out all night. It’s a rule, you..."

Before Emily finished speaking, Carolline entered the house using her key, looking tired. She originally intended to go back to their home to sleep till noon, then rest a bit in the morning before her afternoon shift. However, her phone was out of battery and her charger was at home, so she had to drive home.

"Mom, I’m back..." Carolline bowed her head as she changed into her slippers. Noticing a pair of men’s leather shoes at the door that did not match her dad’s preferred style, she looked up and saw Bryan Hawkins looking at her, brimming with smiles.

"You...you...you said you wouldn’t be back for another couple of days, right?" Carolline grumbled inside. If he had told her in advance that he would return, she might not have been so exhausted.

"Where have you been gallivanting?" Bryan, smiling, came over, took her handbag and placed it aside, then crouched down to help her change shoes.

Emily watched as Bryan stepped forward, without asking any questions and serving his wife so attentively. She was happy, but also a bit speechless. She decided to just focus on preparing breakfast.

"I brought Daisy Willow and Elena Duncan to Celia Wade’s house. That girl wanted hotpot, so we bought some groceries and went over. We ended up making too much, so we called Avery Graham over. We were eating, drinking, and chatting until four in the morning. I took a short nap at Celia’s, then came back home." Carolline helplessly relayed the truth.

She even dropped off Avery Graham at the Cake Shop and saw Avery’s new boyfriend. To be honest, she didn’t think he was a good match for Avery, yet Avery looked so pleased.

She had nothing to say, so she just kept quiet and went home first.

As a result, she had left a huge mess for Daisy Willow to clean up, which made her feel a bit embarrassed.

"I see, then next time when I plan to come back early, I can’t surprise you. I have to inform you in advance." Bryan massaged her shoulders, "Have you had breakfast? Do you want to go back to the room and sleep a bit?"

"Mm-hmm, I’ve eaten. I had cake and milk. I have an afternoon shift, so I’m going to sleep now. I’m so tired." Saying so, Carolline let out a yawn.

"Alright, you go get some sleep then. I have to make a trip to the company. I’ll come pick you up in the afternoon." Bryan planted a kiss on her face. He was reluctant to part, but he needed to go back to the office to handle some matters.

Moreover, Verina was reopening in two days. He couldn’t attend, so he left Xavier Estrada in charge in his stead. Hence, he was short of a capable helper like Xavier and had to do many things himself.

"Mmm, drive cautiously." Carolline tiptoed to plant a kiss on Bryan’s lips, then returned to her room to brush her teeth, wash her face, take a shower, and then go to bed.

Emily had also finished making breakfast and told Bryan to eat before leaving. He didn’t stand on ceremony and left only after stuffing himself.
