Chapter 440: Chapter 440: Carolline Ruiz’s Abilities (9)

The two of them tiptoed into the kitchen, and Celia Wade looked at the neatly cleaned kitchen and exclaimed, "How did you guys do it? With such skill, the kitchen has become so clean?"

"Isn’t it better than you having to hire an hourly worker?" Carolline Ruiz raised her eyebrows. Although she couldn’t compete with Daisy Willow in the kitchen, she was definitely much better than Celia Wade.

"..." Celia Wade was too lazy to argue with her, so she held Elena Duncan’s hand and looked at the beautifully cut and plated dishes arranged by Carolline Ruiz. The colorful dishes were so pleasing to the eye, "So beautiful, you two are really capable. Does this mean I’ll be enjoying good food from now on? Daisy Willow, let’s continue living together, okay?"

"..." Daisy Willow’s hand, which was holding the spatula, trembled slightly because of the mention of their living situation. She almost got scalded by the soup that splattered out of the pot. She knew that this was Celia Wade’s way of accepting their mother-daughter duo, "If you don’t mind."

"After showing off your skills today, she wouldn’t dare to look down on you. In the future, it’ll only be you who can look down on her." Carolline Ruiz added fuel to the fire.

"Carolline, you’re really happy to ridicule your friend like this." Celia Wade crossed her arms and shook her hips angrily.

The three women suddenly burst into laughter. Even Daisy Willow laughed, although her cheeks were still a bit sore, she felt genuinely relaxed and happy at this moment.

"Take out the induction cooker, Miss, and don’t just stand here," Carolline reminded Celia. "Elena, go to the living room and open the cake box. We’re ready to eat."

"Okay." Elena loved to open cake boxes, so she was naturally delighted to be given this task and ran off to do it.

Carolline was worried that Elena would get hurt in the kitchen, which is why she delegated this task to her.

With the induction cooker in place, Daisy Willow brought out the hot pot soup base she had prepared, and then helped Carolline carry out the beautifully arranged dishes one by one. The three of them stared at the full table of food, a bit overwhelmed. There were just three of them plus a child; could they really finish so much food, along with a cake and a pot of chicken porridge?

"Should we invite more people over?" Carolline suggested.

"Let’s call that pregnant lady, Avery Graham, over," Celia Wade ordered decisively. "Just call her, we can’t have Megan Clifton since she’s a pregnant woman. If Andy Aguirre found out we invited his precious baby-carrying wife, wouldn’t he choke us to death?"

"..." Daisy Willow was a bit confused. Weren’t the terms "pregnant lady" and "pregnant woman" the same? In the end, she didn’t dare to ask.

Although they say it’s not shameful to ask, many times, there are indeed questions that are too embarrassing to ask.

Carolline took out her phone to call Avery Graham, but she was beaten to the punch. When Avery heard that there was a free dinner, she immediately accepted the invitation, cutting Carolline off before she even finished speaking.

Within twenty minutes, Avery rushed over with two large bags of drinks and marinated food. True to Celia’s nickname for her, Avery was quite the pregnant lady, bringing even more food when they already had so much.

Upon arrival, Avery greeted Elena enthusiastically, "Oh, Axel’s little girlfriend is here. Where’s Axel?"

Avery’s loud manner made both Daisy Willow and Elena blush. Carolline glared at Avery, who remained dissatisfied and insisted, "Isn’t that right? So many people are having arranged marriages nowadays."

Carolline Ruiz, Daisy Willow, Elena Duncan: "..."

"Alright, let’s eat. I’m starving." Celia Wade suggested, having waited an additional twenty minutes for Avery and eager to eat meat rather than cake.

Four women, plus Elena, enjoyed the hot pot meal to their heart’s content.

They ate from eight in the evening until eleven-thirty at night. At ten o’clock, Elena couldn’t stay awake any longer, so Daisy took her back to the room to sleep. The four women continued to gather, eat, chat, drink beverages, and eat marinated dishes together. The huge amount of food on the table, plus what Avery brought, was slowly demolished by the four women.

Everyone’s stomachs were round and full as they released satisfying burps. None of them had been drinking wine, but it felt as if they were all a bit tipsy.

The air conditioning was strong, but they were all still sweating profusely.

Nobody wanted to clean up, and the evening turned into a gaming session for the four women. Carolline had endured what seemed like a miserable five years, but now she was the happiest among them.

Carolline didn’t argue. She indeed felt very happy at the moment.

Then it was Avery’s turn to complain about Bernard Taylor, that persistent man who liked to disturb her when she wanted to start a new life, making it impossible for her to have a proper relationship.

Carolline was speechless. How did Bernard provoke Avery?

Finally, the focus shifted to Celia Wade, who sat silently, crying and laughing. It frightened Daisy, who thought that their moods had suddenly changed from good to bad. She realized that everyone had their unspeakable sorrows.

Carolline eventually brought up Daisy’s jerk of an ex-husband and horrible mother-in-law. The other two women immediately perked up, forgetting their own miseries and began cursing Cole Duncan and his mother.

The lights in Celia’s apartment remained on until four in the morning.

Daisy knew that Carolline had many more friends she hadn’t met yet. Carolline promised to introduce them to her one by one. Daisy liked Carolline’s circle of friends.

What Carolline didn’t know was that at the Ruiz Family house, Bryan Hawkins lay alone in her room, waiting for her all night long. Meanwhile, her phone in her bag rang countless times.
