Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Daisy Willow’s Rise (2)
"Katie, you’re so early, and you didn’t eat breakfast, right? Sit down and have some with me." Daisy Willow continued stirring, usually not buying breakfast for Elena when she’s with her; she would make it fresh.
"Thank you, young lady." Katie was very grateful, as she never received such treatment in front of the mistress of the villa.
Daisy Willow smiled, poured the mixed flour into the baking tray, and placed it in the oven. Elena was still asleep, so Daisy went over and ate the breakfast Katie bought with her.
There wasn’t much food in the fridge either; she had forgotten to buy something at the supermarket downstairs last night.
"Katie, I didn’t go back last night. Did anything happen in the villa?" Daisy Willow didn’t want to pry, but to know what happened so she could organize her thoughts before seeing Cole Duncan.
Katie was the servant Cole Duncan hired for her, so the two of them got along well.
"The young master didn’t want us to serve him, so the mistress argued with him in their room, furious. Young lady, I think the young master doesn’t like Miss Wu. The one he likes is still you." These words couldn’t be said in the villa, but here, nothing could not be said since Daisy Willow wouldn’t scold her.
"Sometimes, liking or not liking someone is not just about appearances. Even if they like each other, if they’re not suited to be together, they shouldn’t be." Daisy Willow sighed, recalling when she married Cole Duncan, her parents were against it. But she was young and willing to pay any price for love, even breaking ties with her parents as she was determined to marry Cole.
Their happy life lasted less than a year, and she deeply realized why her parents opposed the marriage. Love involved two people, but marriage did not, it involved many factors.
Mrs. Duncan always thought Daisy was reaching above her station by marrying her son, so she had been extremely disgusted with her. Her mother-in-law’s dislike made her marriage full of thorns.
She was tired, even if Cole still loved her and wanted to keep her, she was unwilling to live under the same roof with his mother. Moreover, she was not completely indifferent to the things Cole had done.
She had made up her mind to divorce Cole Duncan. If they were willing to agree and let her take Elena away, she wouldn’t ask for anything else. But if they were unwilling, she was determined to fight the divorce lawsuit to the end.
"Young lady, are you planning to divorce the young master?" Katie was surprised and put down her chopsticks, thinking that she might not be able to bear Mrs. Duncan and Miss Wu without the young lady in the Duncan family.
"Yes." Daisy Willow nodded.
Katie forgot to keep eating, and instead, Daisy Willow calmly reminded her, "Eat quickly."
The two had just finished eating when Elena woke up. Seeing the familiar room, she did not feel afraid but got out of bed, opened the door, and saw Daisy Willow. "Mom,...Auntie Katie, why are you here too?"
"Auntie Katie bought breakfast for mom. The driver is waiting for us downstairs. Elena, hurry up and wash your face and brush your teeth. Mom has baked bread and fried eggs for you. When you’re done eating, we’ll go back to the villa to get the charger." She added, "I’ll talk with your father along the way."
"Ok." Elena nodded sensibly.
Katie didn’t say anything, watching the mother-daughter pair in front of her, thinking that they must have communicated about this matter. If even Elena wasn’t against it, then with Daisy Willow’s character, the divorce was set in stone.
