Chapter 421: Chapter 421: She Wants a Divorce (7)

Although Elena had fun playing with him today, he could always sense an underlying sadness in her.

"Did Elena tell you that, or is this just your perception?" Carolline Ruiz was surprised by Axel’s keen observation. After all, Elena was a child, and her parents’ impending divorce would understandably depress her. However, she believed this was just a temporary phase.

"It’s what I feel," replied Axel.

"Well, they have some family issues. Your Auntie Daisy Willow is getting a divorce. Once that’s over, Elena will be with her loving mother, and she’ll be happy." Carolline always refrained from keeping secrets from Axel. Just like when he asked about his father, she honestly told him who his father was. Whenever they saw Bryan Hawkins on TV, she would point out that he was his father.

"Ah?" Axel hadn’t thought that his parents would reconcile just as Elena’s parents were about to split.

"You’ll understand it better when you grow up a bit more. Anyway, when you have time, we should spend more time with them. Ok?" Carolline was not as surprised.

"Okay, alright." Axel nodded. Elena was his friend, and he didn’t want her to be sad.

Meanwhile, Elena returned home with Daisy Willow, becoming much more cheerful. She bathed, slept, listened to a bedtime story from Daisy Willow, and after a long day of playing, quickly fell asleep.

Daisy Willow, who had also been exhausted, took a shower and lay down next to Elena to sleep.

Her cell phone left in the living room blinked until the screen finally went dark due to battery depletion.

Duncan Family

Jane Auclair stayed until eight in the evening, unwilling to leave. Despite Cole Duncan’s repeated reminders, she only reluctantly said goodbye. Mrs. Duncan escorted Jane Auclair to the entrance, saying many kind words on behalf of her son. Jane Auclair was magnanimous, not bearing a grudge against Cole, and expressed her patience, waiting for Cole to formalize their relationship before she’d teach him a lesson.

She knew that Mrs. Duncan had always wanted Cole Duncan to divorce Daisy Willow. However, Cole had never agreed. In recent days, Jane had always seen Daisy Willow strutting in front of her, which was quite annoying, even though Daisy Willow quietly left whenever Jane arrived.

However, regardless of anything else, Daisy Willow was still Mrs. Duncan in legal terms. If it were not for Mrs. Duncan’s support, her daily company with Cole Duncan at the Duncan family house would seem improper.

"It’s okay, Auntie, I can understand Cole’s feelings, and you, too, shouldn’t tire yourself out." Jane Auclair acted generously as she saw Cole suppressing his feelings towards her, and decided to keep her distance. "By the way, Auntie, I probably won’t be able to come over for half a month. I’m going to the H country. When I come back, I’ll continue caring for Cole."

"Well, I hope to hear you call me Mom soon, Jane." Mrs. Duncan, holding Jane’s hand, seemed quite reluctant for her to leave.

"I’m also looking forward to it." Jane Auclair smiled before getting into the driver’s car and leaving the Duncan house.

After seeing Jane off, Mrs. Duncan turned to look back, only to see Katie, the servant, trembling as she came out of Cole Duncan’s room. "What happened, Katie?"

"Madam, young master doesn’t want me to serve him. He said he wants to wait for young mistress to come back." Katie looked aggrieved.

"What does he mean, wait for the young mistress to come back? Didn’t she just leave?" Mrs. Duncan had long told the servants to recognize Jane as their future young mistress, She didn’t even let them call Daisy Willow "young mistress".
