Chapter 416: Chapter 416: She Wants a Divorce (2)
"Elena wants to go back to our own home, doesn’t she?" Looking at Elena’s timid appearance, Daisy Willow felt a heartache. She had been too busy dealing with other matters, and it seemed she had neglected her daughter.
"...Yes, can we? Mom, I know Dad needs you to take care of him, but Grandma doesn’t like us, and Dad has that Auntie to accompany him, right?" Elena didn’t dare to make a willful request, fearing her mother would get angry.
Daisy Willow sighed. It seemed she had no choice but to divorce, even if not for herself. As Carolline Ruiz had said, for Elena’s sake, she should make up her mind.
"Okay, Elena, Mom promises you that we will go back to our own home tonight and not to Dad and Grandma’s house." Daisy Willow watched the smile blossom on Elena’s face, feeling that it had been a long time since she had seen her daughter be so happy. Suddenly, a bold idea came to her mind: if Elena supported her in getting a divorce, then she would have to fight the lawsuit against Cole Duncan. "Elena, Mom asks you, if I divorce your dad, will you feel sad?"
"... Will Mom take Elena with her if she divorces Dad? Elena doesn’t want to live with Grandma." If it was only Dad, it would be fine, but her father couldn’t even take care of himself right now, how could he take care of her?
She actually knew some of her kindergarten friends whose parents had divorced but were not unhappy; their days were still enjoyable.
If she could always be with her mom, then she would not feel sad even if her mom divorced her dad. On the contrary, she thought it would be better if her mom could get rid of her grandmother.
"Don’t worry, Elena. Mom will definitely take you with her and won’t let anyone take you away from her, even if it’s your dad." Daisy Willow hugged Elena tightly. How could Elena have ever doubted her love?
"Okay, Mom, Elena supports you." Elena nodded sensibly.
"..." Daisy Willow smiled with satisfaction, looking at Elena, she reaffirmed her decision.
She was determined to divorce.
When Daisy Willow left her house, Mrs. Shen didn’t arrange a driver for her. The two walked for a while before reaching the main road outside the Villa District, where they hailed a taxi and left.
At 4:10 PM, Axel sat in his seat and asked Carolline Ruiz no less than three times why Elena hadn’t arrived yet. Carolline patiently assured him that she would arrive soon.
The last time Carolline said Elena would be there soon, Axel pouted unhappily. It was only when he saw Daisy Willow leading Elena into the room that his smile finally emerged.
"Simon, they’re here." Carolline had been worried that Simon Carrington would mind Daisy Willow’s tardiness. As lawyers, they valued punctuality. Her uncle, William Hawkins, was such a person, who would get angry and leave if a client didn’t show up on time. She feared Simon Carrington would do the same, but Simon just calmly nodded.
"Daisy, Elena, over here." Carolline called out to Daisy Willow and Elena, waving to them.
Daisy Willow looked at them and felt apologetic for being late. She walked over and bowed to Simon Carrington. "I’m sorry, we’re late."
Most of the time was wasted walking from the villa to the main road.
"It’s fine, don’t worry about it. Simon knows your family situation. This is Simon Carrington, the lawyer. Simon, this is Daisy Willow, and that’s her daughter, Elena." Carolline introduced them.
"Hello, Mr. Carrington." Daisy Willow reached out her hand and used polite language.
