Chapter 316: Chapter 316: Little Girlfriend (5)

In the second half of the year, Carolline Ruiz still hadn’t decided whether to continue with the large class or switch to pre-school class.

"Let’s play Tank Battle! Who will lend me their game to play?" Megan Clifton called out to Auntie and Uncle and then ran into the living room with a thick-skinned request to join the game.

Father and son gave Megan Clifton a tacit glance, but no one paid her any attention. Megan Clifton was so frustrated by the cold shoulders, "Fine, Axel, now that you have your dad, you don’t need your godmother anymore, right?"

"Boy, you’re so noisy! Isn’t that a no-brainer? Blood is thicker than water, after all." Bryan Hawkins put his game away and patted Axel’s little head. "Go wash your hands with Mommy, it’s time for dinner."

"Hey, come on, Bryan Hawkins, isn’t this like burning the bridge? You and Carolline Ruiz, when you two were not remarried yet, this isn’t how you treated me! Now that you’re remarried, we’re just nobodies to you, right?" Megan Clifton was infuriated, with her hands on her hips, and angrily accused.

"Be mindful of prenatal teaching, Axel is still here. As a woman, your language is so vulgar, how on earth did Andy Aguirre fall for you in the first place?" Bryan Hawkins was good with his words, and no one could get the better of him.

"I seduced him." Megan Clifton blurted out in a moment of anger.

"Yikes!" Bryan Hawkins cringed in disgust and followed his son to wash his hands. Then, like an alien, he trailed behind Carolline Ruiz in circles.

A simple meal became enjoyable thanks to the bickering between Megan Clifton and Bryan Hawkins.

Carolline Ruiz shook her head, but the harmonious family atmosphere entwined in their air. How could such a life be boring?

With Carolline Ruiz, Axel must take a nap in the afternoon. Even if he still wanted to play Tank Battle with Bryan Hawkins after lunch, Carolline Ruiz glared at him, and Axel obediently went to his room.

"Look, she’s a tiger mom!" Megan Clifton incredulously stared at Carolline Ruiz while eating the cantaloupe Emily Hill cut from the kitchen. Axel, in front of Carolline Ruiz, was like a mouse seeing a cat.

"Tiger mom or not, you’ll understand when you give birth to that little ball in your belly." Carolline Ruiz wasn’t afraid of being judged. In her opinion, bringing up a child required certain principles to be upheld. Love isn’t about indulgence.

"..." Megan Clifton nearly choked when Carolline likened the baby in her belly to a ball.

Bryan Hawkins sat in the living room with Henry Ruiz, chatting leisurely through the afternoon.

The afternoon passed quickly, and Carolline Ruiz went to work at two o’clock, and by five o’clock, she could leave work and come back home.

At four o’clock, with Emily Hill’s help, Axel had already packed his things to go home. They were just waiting for Carolline Ruiz to come back, have dinner, and go home together as a family.

At the dinner table, Emily Hill fried four more chicken legs and put them on the table. Carolline Ruiz frowned, "Mom, we already ate fried chicken drumsticks at lunch, and now we’re having them again for dinner. Children shouldn’t eat too much of it."

"Bryan Cooper bought eight of them. We fried four for lunch and four for dinner. Why should we save them? Besides, it’s been a while since we had them last. Isn’t home-frying better?" Emily Hill sometimes found Carolline Ruiz too stubborn. She really resembled the stubborn Ruiz Family, just like Old Master Ruiz.

"But the leavening agent also comes from the supermarket." Carolline Ruiz didn’t like how Emily Hill doted on Axel, who was a boy and shouldn’t be pampered too much.

"Here, eat one, Mom’s cooking is really good, fragrant, crisp, and tender. Axel, Daddy and Mommy will help you eat one too, ok?" Bryan Hawkins played the peacemaker, grabbing one fried chicken leg for Carolline Ruiz and another for himself.
