Chapter 315: Chapter 315: Little Girlfriend (4)

So it ended in complete failure. Of course, this can’t be entirely blamed on Carolline. Even without her, it’s probably impossible for her to be with Bryan Hawkins. She knew him for so much longer than Carolline did, but so what?

"We’re remarried," Bryan Hawkins said generously.

"Remarried?" Joyce Lopez couldn’t believe it.

"Yes, we divorced five years ago." Bryan Hawkins didn’t say much more about it, since the matter was in the past.

"Congratulations. Grandma Hawkins’ wish has finally come true." Joyce Lopez smiled and then her set alarm went off. "I have to go back, the kids are about to have their milk. Thank you, Brother Bryan."

"You’re welcome."

Things were dealt with quickly. Bryan Hawkins checked the time on his wrist, and it wasn’t even eleven o’clock yet. He had Xavier Estrada drive him to his mother-in-law’s house. On the way there, he called Axel and asked Emily Hill if they needed to buy any groceries to bring back.

Emily Hill didn’t hold back and asked him to go to the marketplace and buy some frozen chicken legs. Axel wanted to eat Fried Chicken Legs, and she was planning to go out. Since he was coming over, she gave him the task.

Axel was the happiest because his dad was coming.

He never understood why they had to go to his grandparents’ house on weekends. He wanted to be with his dad. Still, Emily Hill persuaded him that his mom and dad were preparing to have a younger brother or sister, so they had to go there on weekends.

Hearing about the possibility of having a younger brother or sister, Axel was happy and stopped complaining.

"Axel, come here. Grandmother wants to know if you have adjusted to the bed at your father’s house? I heard you asked your mom to sleep with you." Emily Hill just wanted to ask him about it. At home, Axel usually slept alone. So, why did he suddenly demand to sleep with his mom when they moved there?

Emily Hill was puzzled, so she decided to ask Axel first. At Carolline’s place, she said Axel wanted her to sleep with him, and she obliged.

There was nothing wrong with indulging the child, but she worried that it would affect the relationship between her and Bryan Hawkins.

Over this period, there seemed to be no problems between the couple, at least on the surface.

"Did mom complain?" Axel looked up with his little face, feeling wronged.

He didn’t know why, but after moving to his dad’s house, he couldn’t sleep alone. His dad’s room was big and spacious, but he didn’t know why he was scared. He just told his mom that he wanted to sleep with her, and she did.

"How could mom complain? Axel is her most beloved son. But if you ask your mom to sleep with you, what about your dad?" Emily Hill knew that children didn’t understand these matters, so she could only put it indirectly. "Axel, your mom and dad haven’t seen each other for five years. They both have jobs, so their time together is limited. It’s only during the nights when they can communicate with each other, right? So, from today onwards, don’t ask your mom to sleep with you anymore, okay?"

"Hmm, okay." Axel thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. "Grandma, so will mom and dad quickly give Axel a brother or sister now?"

Emily Hill stroked Axel’s little head and nodded gravely. "Yes, that’s how it is. Our Axel is so smart."

"I know what to do now." Axel grew sensible at once.

Bryan Hawkins arrived home soon. Axel had already finished his weekend homework and was waiting for his dad in the living room. As soon as he arrived, father and son started playing Tank Battle in the living room.

When Carolline and Megan Clifton returned, they saw father and son playing the game enthusiastically. In a week, Axel would start his summer vacation.
