Two minutes later, they arrived at Avery’s house. Bryan stepped on the brakes, and just as Avery got out of the car and hadn’t had a chance to turn around and thank Bryan, he stepped on the accelerator and drove off quickly.

Avery’s house was only about half a city away from where they lived, so half an hour later, the two returned to their own home.

Today was the weekend, and Axel had called Emily Hill to take him home. Emily had come to talk to the couple before, suggesting that Axel should spend the weekends with them to help build their relationship more quickly.

Carolline thought it was inappropriate, but Bryan immediately agreed. Emily now took her son-in-law’s words as Carolline’s decision, so Carolline didn’t even have to speak, and the matter was settled.
