Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Craving for Meat (3)

The rest of the words remained unspoken by Bryan Hawkins, and Bernard Taylor didn’t say anything about the "pervert" part; probably thinking that there should be a better way to torment Avery Graham in this world than killing her.

Honestly, even if Bernard was a little bit special to Avery, Bryan couldn’t imagine him falling in love with her, as the difference between her and his previous romantic interest was simply too huge.

Avery was different from Bernard’s ex-lover; Bernard was stubborn among their group, and once he decided on something, he couldn’t change his mind. That’s why he chose Medical University and the difficult major of surgical department.

However, they were just ordinary people; even if they had slightly greater achievements than others, they didn’t have miraculous abilities.

"If you have the guts, kill me then!" Avery was furious, and spoke without thinking. She thought that the unspoken words from Bryan Hawkins were probably some kind of warning, but she wasn’t afraid.

Bryan shook his head, it seemed like Avery was really destined to be Bernard’s nemesis.

The soup in the hot pot was already boiling, and Bryan had selected all the ingredients that Carolline loved. Carolline was quite surprised, as she thought that only she knew her taste in food. Apparently, Bryan, who only spent half a month with her, had already understood her preferences well.

With Bryan’s care and indulgence, Carolline enjoyed her meal very much.

But Avery wasn’t enjoying it, because Bernard was supervising her. Once she picked up a piece of food with her chopsticks and dipped it into the tomato soup, her food would be snatched away by the chopsticks coming from the side, and then replaced with food from the white soup.

She didn’t want to eat Bernard’s saliva. Anyway, this hot pot meal was extremely unpleasant for her.

When Bryan was paying the bill, Avery was still complaining, "Carolline, when can you invite me alone? Just ditch your man."

After this hot pot meal, Avery no longer considered Bryan as one of them. Even if he was Carolline’s husband, based on the relationship between him and Bernard, they were not going to get along.

"Don’t be like this, Miss Graham. Next time, I promise not to invite Bernard." Bryan couldn’t allow Carolline to leave him for a single event, given how much he was currently attached to her.

"Male god Bryan, you better keep your word." Avery smiled, her eyes curving in amusement. She would just let it go for today.

"Alright," Bryan nodded, holding back a smile, and agreed.

Bernard showed no expression, and his reaction could not be read.

While the two men went to get the cars, Carolline and Avery stood at the entrance waiting. When Bryan’s car drove up, Carolline sat in the passenger seat, and Avery directly opened the back door to follow her in.

Bernard’s car was parked behind Bryan’s. He calmly watched Avery hurry to get in the car with Carolline. He glanced at the steering wheel, where there was a set of keys that fell out of Avery’s bag when she was bouncing around earlier. He picked them up, intending to give them back, but Avery was holding Carolline’s hand and didn’t even spare him a glance.

He put the keys back in his pocket and left them next to the steering wheel.

"Isn’t it inappropriate for you to not go back with Bernard, since you came with him?" Bryan didn’t start the car, and Carolline turned to ask Avery, knowing that she must be unwilling to go with Bernard.

"What’s wrong with that? Are you two in such a hurry?" Avery was quite mischievous, her eyes glinting with a wickedness. They were all adults and naturally understood the hidden meaning behind her words.
