That day, she didn’t know if her mood swings were that intense, but her period somehow came two days early. She was wearing white pants, and her period was so forceful and swift that she ended up soiling her pants - something she hadn’t done in years - on the very first day of the job.

Not having a choice, she picked up Bernard Taylor’s coat, which was hung in the office room, and put it on. Bernard was tall, at 6ft, while she was petite at 5’4", so when she wore his coat, it covered her entire butt.

Initially, Avery Graham didn’t want to go downstairs to buy pads from the supermarket during work hours, but the idea of wearing a man’s clothes didn’t suit her. So, she thought of asking the nurse station if anyone had a sanitary pad that she could borrow.

However, due to Bernard Taylor’s influence, all the nurses hated her, and they refused to lend her a pad even if they had one handy. Avery had to eventually make a trip to buy a sanitary pad to solve this sudden problem.

Avery Graham had a very straightforward personality, which was why she got along with people like Carolline Ruiz and Celia Wade, who were similar to her. They say birds of a feather flock together.

The following month, she didn’t prepare early yet again, and her period came a day earlier once more. She was so frustrated that she left the restroom and asked Bernard Taylor for a 10-minute break. But he didn’t let her go, and she snapped at him, saying her aunt had arrived and she needed to buy a pad. Was he purposefully making things hard for her?

Bernard Taylor calmly took out a pack of sanitary pads from his drawer and threw it to her, casually saying, "I found these while passing by Medical University. Some merchant was giving them out for free as part of some promotion."

Avery Graham couldn’t believe his explanation but took the pads and ran to the restroom. From that moment, she labeled Bernard Taylor as a "pervert" in her mind.

"...." Carolline Ruiz had just eaten a cherry tomato and was scared by Bernard Taylor’s words. The tomato almost went down her windpipe, and her face turned pale. Luckily, she managed to react quickly enough to spit the cherry tomato out.

Bryan Hawkins initially thought Carolline Ruiz was frightened by Bernard Taylor’s words. Only later did he realize there was something in her mouth that she was trying to chew. He quickly reached out to her, "Spit it out, don’t eat it. You almost choked, don’t you understand?"

His voice wasn’t too loud or soft, but Avery and Bernard Taylor could hear it. Bernard Taylor looked on calmly as Carolline Ruiz spat the cherry tomato into Bryan Hawkins’ hand, who then tossed it into the trash without being bothered by the mess. He then took out a tissue and carefully wiped Carolline Ruiz’s mouth before cleaning his own hands.

"Are you okay, Carolline?" Avery asked worriedly. Carolline had a slow sip of water, swallowing it while gently shaking her head to indicate she was fine. Avery, though, was fuming. "He’s just a pervert, you don’t have to pay attention to him. Seriously, Bryan, why did you invite this kind of perverted person here? Aren’t you worried he’ll choke your wife to death?"

"...." Bryan Hawkins’ face also turned sour. Was there even anyone daring enough to call Bernard Taylor a pervert?

But Bernard Taylor didn’t get angry. He just smiled and acted indifferent. Bryan Hawkins wasn’t surprised and just faintly smiled, "Miss Graham, being direct is a good thing, but don’t be too direct. You never know, what happened today could happen again someday..."
