Sometimes, Andy Aguirre would go to an academic conference for a week, and Megan Clifton would stay at home. She couldn’t bear being alone for three days and would find various excuses to take leave, even if it meant losing her bonus.

"It’s up to you. I just think that having a child early on is beneficial for women’s recovery. Look at the older women now who rely on freezing their eggs to have a child. Do you think they are willing to suffer so much for a child? They have no choice." Carolline Ruiz finished speaking and didn’t want to discuss it further. She had to go pick up Axel from school.

"Yeah, I have a child who is almost six years old. It’s normal to be getting older." Carolline changed her clothes, came out of the room, and replied with an unconcerned laugh.

"You just wait. When the time comes, I’ll have twins and we’ll see who’s bragging then," Megan pouted. When other people talked to her about having children, she was usually very opposed, even when her own parents brought it up. She would be very upset and sometimes even leave without finishing her meal. Only in front of Carolline could she mention it without getting angry and fantasized about having twins.

"Well, I’m waiting." Carolline nodded indifferently.

"Tsk, I almost fell for your trap again." Megan knew Carolline was acting as the elder’s messenger, but she often lost control and accidentally stepped into the trap set by Carolline. "By the way, Children’s Day is coming up. Who will Axel be spending it with?"

Axel was a popular kid in their circle. With a very handsome father, Axel was recognized as a little handsome man since his infancy. The adults who met him couldn’t help but admit that he was the most attractive boy they had ever seen.

"Of course it won’t be with you. If you want a child, go have your own." Carolline changed her shoes and continued, "Avery booked him three months ago."

"She made a reservation that early? What does she want to do?" Megan pursed her lips, appearing unhappy. Avery Graham had also wanted to be Axel’s godmother and joined forces with Megan and Andy to pressure Carolline. They said that godparents should be a pair to avoid confusion later. So, Axel only had one godfather and godmother, the shamelessly colluding couple.

As a result, Avery could only play the role of an aunt. But she was quite content with it, treating Axel extraordinarily well.

"Do you really need to ask?" Carolline rolled her eyes. If Avery’s relationship with Bernard Taylor was a secret before, it certainly wasn’t anymore.

"Bernard hasn’t won Avery over yet? This guy has such a handsome face, and I think he could even compete with Axel." Megan shook her head. It had been five years, and the two enemies hadn’t become a couple yet.

That’s right. When Axel was two, Avery went abroad to study for two years and hadn’t been back for a full year. Bernard didn’t make any progress during those years but could hardly be considered too slow-witted.
