Secret Wealthy Marriage
Chapter 210: Whose Child (8)

Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Whose Child (8)

Lady Hawkins naturally noticed Sophia Lawson’s little action. Nevertheless, she didn’t voice any opinion. In her bag was the bracelet that Carolline Ruiz had returned to her. She once considered Carolline as her future granddaughter-in-law and gave her this bracelet, never expecting it would be returned one day.

Now that Carolline returned it, it meant she truly gave up on any hopes about the eldest of their family. Once a woman loses hope, it’s easy for her to impulsively marry someone else.

At this time, she was angry, angry at her eldest grandson for not properly dealing with the issue of Carolline. Any discerning person could see that Carolline liked him; if only he had demonstrated the responsibility a man should, this matter would have been resolved.

However, today, another man appeared.

Bryan Hawkins only finished his work late at night. After receiving a call from his father, he called back to Grandma Hawkins and was immediately berated by her. Over the phone, she threatened, "Let me tell you, eldest grandson, I don’t care if you’re in the Arctic or Antarctica, you better get back home as soon as possible. Even if you’ve won over the entire world, in my eyes, you’re nothing."

In Bryan’s life, only Grandma Hawkins dared to use such vulgar language to scold him, and he could only let her vent without any counterargument.

"Grandma, don’t be angry. Can you tell me what happened?" Bryan frowned, and recalled that his grandma was known for such temper. Now, what could have made her this furious?

"Why wouldn’t I be angry?" Lady Hawkins continued to yell. In the room, old Mr. Hawkins did not speak up for his grandson considering his wife needed to vent, "Carolline is pregnant and about to get married. You better prepare for a lifetime of regret."

Having said that, Lady Hawkins suddenly didn’t want to talk to her eldest grandson anymore. This eldest grandson of hers was making her too angry, just too angry.

"..." On hearing the line being disconnected, Bryan clenched his phone tightly. Carolline was pregnant?

Whose child was she carrying? How many months was she along? Was it his child?

When Xavier Estrada came to find him, Bryan was looking dazed. Xavier called out to him several times without eliciting a response, until he raised his voice, "Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Hawkins..."

"What’s the matter?" Bryan finally came back to his senses and looked at Xavier.

"We can leave now. The contract is signed." Xavier told him excitedly. This was the third contract in their expansion plan for Hawkins family business. Once again, it was a billion-dollar cooperation.

"Okay, book the earliest flight home tomorrow. We are going back." Bryan turned and walked towards the elevator.

Xavier quickly followed, "Aren’t we supposed to fly to H Country?"

"That’s on hold for now. Explain it to Mr. Han over there. We are going back tomorrow." Bryan said this while consumed with thoughts about Carolline.

Could she really not bear with him any longer?

The thought of Carolline possibly carrying a child that was not his filled Bryan’s eyes with sudden redness. While hiding, was he really unable to avoid fate’s arrangement?

Bryan, when did you become so weak?

Xavier watched Bryan’s changes very carefully, feeling that Mr. Hawkins must be facing a big problem. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have such a shocking expression, something he had never seen before.

The next night at eight, Bryan arrived in G City.

No one came to pick him up. Apart from Grandma Hawkins, who knew he was coming back, Sophia and the others had no idea. Grandma Hawkins intentionally kept it from Sophia. Also, the moment Bryan landed, Grandma Hawkins called him, "You don’t need to come home for now. I have sent someone to Gratan Town to investigate. We will confirm whose child Carolline is carrying before deciding."

"Grandma, you——" Bryan didn’t know what to say. His grandma was the one who cared most about his affairs. He had intended to do this too, but before he could make arrangements, his grandma had already done it.

"Ah Bryan, tell me, do you really like Carolline or not?" Grandma Hawkins persistently asked. If her eldest grandson likes Carolline, even if it meant losing face, she would beg Carolline to return. But after waiting for a long time without hearing Bryan’s answer, she lost patience, "Never mind, if you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t force you."

"Grandma, I’ll hang up first." Bryan said. He didn’t feel like going back now.

Grandma Hawkins sighed, glad that she didn’t pressure him any more. Anyway, until things clearer, it would be pointless asking him.

If the child truly belonged to Andy Aguirre, even if their eldest grandson liked Carolline, they would not be capable of breaking another couple apart. Even if Carolline had changed her heart, it would make sense. After all, their eldest grandson was so clueless about romance.

Bryan ended the call and returned to Bluen Lake Wonderland. It was here that Carolline had proposed divorce to him, and she had already prepared the divorce agreement.

That day, he actually wanted to talk to her about his car accident years ago. He planned to launch a final attack on George Morris. Once George’s issue was entirely resolved, they would go home and let his grandma help them prepare for the wedding.

He would give her a grand wedding. His business plan was well in place; even if their marriage became public, it wouldn’t impact his advancement. He planned to make Carolline the happiest woman in the world.

But his precious plans were shattered before he had a chance to tell Carolline when he saw the divorce agreement written by her. Yes, he did generously say that Carolline could tell him if she wanted a divorce.

However, now he realizes that his generosity was truly foolish. The current situation had unexpectedly developed into one that he could no longer control.

Carolline was pregnant. If the child wasn’t his, could he still win her back?

Throwing himself onto the bed, Bryan felt a sense of desolation like never before. In his arms was the divorce agreement written by Carolline herself, already signed by her. Yet, he hadn’t signed, for he didn’t want to sign.

If the results of the investigation that grandma Hawkins sent return, perhaps, he can’t avoid signing it.

If Andy Aguirre was indeed Carolline’s happiness, he couldn’t bear to keep hindering her.

She is a good girl, deserving of wholehearted love and treatment.

Did he truly lose that opportunity already?
