"Are you familiar with Gratan Town?" Bryan Hawkins asked Xavier Estrada. Bryan himself had never visited, but Xavier boasted that he had traversed every inch of their homeland, and Bryan was hoping that would be an advantage.

"I’ve been there twice. It’s well known for its grain production. The wheat-based food there is very delicious. Are you thinking of going there, Mr. Hawkins? However, the conditions there are quite poor, with no hotels, only small guesthouses that don’t meet sanitary standards." Xavier knew that Bryan was accustomed to staying in five-star hotels, primarily because of his emphasis on hygiene.

Of course, that only applied to places that Bryan hadn’t developed yet. In places where he had initiated development, he would naturally stay in his own hotels when revisiting.

"Prepare a car the day after tomorrow, pack plenty of food. We will go to Gratan Town to find Carolline Ruiz," Bryan Hawkins didn’t need to hide anything from Xavier Estrada.

"Yes," answered Xavier, who usually accepted orders without further questioning.

For Bryan Hawkins, the day felt extremely long. Even the blink of an eye was beginning to irritate him. He found himself losing patience with social engagements too.

On this day, Joyce Lopez came with her family to celebrate Austin Hawkins’ birthday. In front of the Hawkins Family elders, Joyce hinted at her relationship with Bryan Hawkins. Both elders adeptly answered in non-committal official language, which greatly displeased Joyce. She knew that the elders did not like her; they preferred Carolline.

However, as Carolline had stated that Bryan did not love her, Joyce was determined to make every effort in winning his heart, no matter how the elders felt.

Today was Austin Hawkins’ birthday, and the Lopez Family could not be too brazen in their approach. They needed to tread lightly, so they only insinuated their intentions.

There’s truth in the saying that wisdom comes with age. Throughout the day, Joyce tried to find an opportunity to approach Bryan, only for his grandmother to thwart her attempts.

Joyce, perhaps, would never understand that the grandmother despised being pressured. So, she might never get the chance to enter the Hawkins House, unless the matriarch dies.

As of now, Joyce was still unaware of this extreme dislike against her.

Carolline remembered that today was Austin Hawkins’s birthday, but her phone had no signal; she couldn’t make calls. The rare times she managed to call home were when she was escorting patients to town. In Gratan town, there was hardly any signal.

However, today there weren’t many patients, let alone serious cases. Thus, she didn’t have a valid reason to go to town and had to let go of the thought of sending birthday wishes to Austin.

Even though there weren’t many patients, they were busy treating minor ailments in the morning. It wasn’t until lunchtime when the Village Chief’s wife brought food that the three of them finally got a chance to rest.

Gavin Campbell tactfully took his meal and went to eat in a distant place. After eating, he visited the local school and asked Uncle Hai to direct the children to the Village Chief’s house when they finished school.

Carolline and Andy Aguirre sat across from each other. After eating their meal and during their short break, she seized the opportunity to ask Andy why he had suddenly come here.

In fact, while Andy was on the phone with his family, his father had accidentally mentioned Caroline’s situation. He immediately contacted the dean of the hospital in M Country, indicating his immediate return to his home country.

The dean, being a middle-aged man with a romantic disposition, learned that Andy was chasing love and simply allowed him to go, blessing him wholeheartedly.
