At that thought, Elena Duncan found herself amused. This boy could be so adorably silly at times.

"Hmph, I’m ignoring you guys," Liam Carrington said, not speaking anymore. Yet, today’s Chinese cuisine dishes really suited his taste, and without realizing, he ended up eating three bowls of rice.

After Elena spoke about how the owners of the Chinese cuisine restaurant had helped her, Axel Hawkins left them an extra tip. He had once written a research paper about the working class in Z Country.

During his research, he’d learned how difficult life was for these workers. It was already tough enough working domestically, let alone trying to make it abroad.

The couple, being very honest and sincere, immediately returned the extra money saying, "We can’t accept so much money. What’s due should be due. That’s a basic principle of being a person. Please take the money back, and just visit us more often in the future; that would make us happier than anything else."

The husband told Axel Hawkins as he handed the money back.

It was only then that Elena Duncan realized that Axel was trying to help them in such a way. She quickly took the excess money, "I’m sorry, Sir, Lady Boss, my boyfriend just arrived, and he doesn’t know anything. Please don’t take it the wrong way with him."

"Oh? So you are Elena’s boyfriend? No wonder, just as Elena said, you really do look distinguished," the couple commented, their Mandarin actually quite good.

Axel himself felt a bit embarrassed then, regretting his recklessness and having Elena apologize on his behalf.

He didn’t mean anything by it; he just wanted to express his gratitude.

Perhaps he hadn’t thought it through completely; these people had their dignity, too. They weren’t beggars, they earned their livelihood through hard work. Visiting their place and enjoying their dishes was much better than directly giving them money.

"I’m sorry, Sir, Lady Boss, I was too reckless just now," Axel quickly apologized.

"It’s alright, no need to worry. We know you wanted to thank us on Elena’s behalf, and she did the same when she first came. But really, that small favor didn’t require such thanks. You and Elena are good kids, just come around more often," the Lady Boss explained with a smile, his sincere apology hardly necessary.

All was well once things were explained.

Elena Duncan lowered her head in embarrassment too, realizing she hadn’t thought things through enough either.

"Okay, your food is so delicious, we’ll definitely come often," Axel promised.

When it was time to leave, Liam Carrington took the driver’s car alone, consciously deciding not to be their third wheel any longer.

Hand in hand, Elena and Axel went on a walk in a park, Elena still holding the bouquet of roses Axel had given her.

Leaning into Axel, Elena couldn’t help expressing her longing, "Axel, I really missed you so much."

If Axel hadn’t come today, then tomorrow, or at the latest, the day after, she would have appeared in G City.

"Yes, me too," Axel said, smiling down.

Suddenly, he turned his head, calling out to someone behind, "Come out now, following us all this way, aren’t you tired, Prince Charles?"

Elena was surprised, then she saw Charles Morrison step out from behind a large tree. He hadn’t anticipated that despite his careful tracking, Axel would still notice him. This guy was really something.

"You don’t believe us, do you?" Axel asked bluntly.

Charles didn’t respond, he indeed had his doubts.

"Then we’ll show you so you can see whether we are really boyfriend and girlfriend or not," Axel said, somewhat annoyed now, his good mood disrupted by the snooper.

Just when Elena was unsure how Axel intended to prove it to Charles, she suddenly felt a warm, wet sensation press against her lips. Right there on the busy street, Axel gave her a French kiss.
