Chapter 1127: 009 Simon Carrington’s Outburst_5

"...Of course not, it’s..." Shane Auclair thought about the dividends from before the year began. Despite Simon Carrington managing the company for only half a year, and under the circumstances of Grandfather’s poor health, he had managed to elevate Henry Carrington’s dividends to twenty million, not even counting the rest, which totaled the dividends of the past two years. Simon truly had some capabilities.

Shane Auclair stuttered as she spoke, unsure of what to say.

If one were to deny Simon Carrington’s capabilities, everyone had witnessed his skill. He was the eldest, so it was hard for them to acknowledge it, while the other siblings had long accepted it.

"Main Hall sister-in-law, no need to say more. When Stella Carrington returns, we can talk about Main Hall brother’s matters. If you think you can use Stella to threaten me, go right ahead, but if something as minor as a single hair is missing from Stella, and you think your entire family can pay the price, then just go ahead and hurt Stella. I’ll be here for a week, and whether Main Hall brother’s fate is good or bad will depend on Main Hall sister-in-law’s feelings for him. I’ll take my leave first."

After Simon Carrington spoke, he didn’t give Shane Auclair any more chances and stood up to leave.

"..." Shane Auclair stood there pale-faced, completely unprepared for the overwhelming pressure Simon exuded. Of course, she was Stella Carrington’s great aunt and would not intentionally harm her, but clearly, her plan to use Stella to threaten Simon was futile.

"Madam, Madam..." Seeing Shane Auclair in a daze, the servant approached to remind her.

"Tell the driver to wait at the door, and go find Lawyer Houston," Shane Auclair said, unsure of what to do. She needed her husband’s advice, as Simon Carrington was too formidable, way beyond her as an opponent.

"Yes."

Stella Carrington was brought back on Sunday, Simon Carrington had come to pick her up at Henry Carrington’s house. The moment father and daughter met, Stella Carrington was visibly moved, but she quickly composed herself.

Simon remained composed, seeing Stella safe eased his mind considerably. He was worried someone might act desperately, and he would regret it if anything untoward occurred.

Irene Houston had only gone away to a monastery, not dead. If anything had happened to Stella, he would have had no way to explain it to Irene Houston.

"Stella, aren’t you going to call him ’Dad’?" Shane Auclair approached, playing peacemaker between the father and daughter.

"..." Stella felt awkward, always feeling that Simon didn’t love her anymore. With a wife and two children by his side, she was superfluous, wasn’t she?

If that were the case, why did Simon come to find her?

"Uncle Simon, Stella is just angry with you, after all, you haven’t called her for a month," Heidi Carrington said, seeming to smooth things over but actually sowing discord, prompted by her mother.

Originally, Stella hadn’t minded Simon not calling her for a month. Now, after hearing Heidi Carrington’s comment, her resentment grew.

"Stella, you didn’t call Dad either, did you?" Stella had insisted on residing at her uncle’s place by herself, and he was actually quite concerned about it. It hurt as a father that his daughter would rather consider someone else’s home her own than her own family’s.

"I..." Stella was taken aback that Simon would shift the blame onto her. Wasn’t it the adult’s job to give way to the child?

"Uncle, Stella and Heidi have returned; the kids are tired and hungry from playing. Let’s eat first. After dinner, we can talk more or discuss things slowly over the table," Shane Auclair said, smiling as she mediated the situation.

Following her mother’s instruction, Heidi took Stella to wash her hands.

Simon then sat down at the dining table first, and as Stella came out, Shane directed her to sit next to Simon, though Stella hesitated and was reluctant.

Simon remained calm and composed.

"Stella, sit next to Dad, put in a good word for your uncle," Shane Auclair insisted that Stella sit next to Simon, also reminding her that her uncle had not shown up yet.

Stella only then seemed to remember Henry, and reluctantly took her seat next to Simon.

"Dad, the aunt at Uncle’s house makes very delicious Braised Shrimp in Oil. Try it," Stella said as she put a Braised Shrimp in Oil onto Simon’s bowl.
