Chapter 1128: 009 Simon Carrington’s Outburst_6
"Hmm, thank you," Simon Carrington nodded; he felt somewhat relieved, although he knew Stella Carrington would surely plead for Henry Carrington next.
He had thought it over, he could spare Henry this time for his daughter’s sake, but Henry should not delude himself into thinking that he could still be the branch’s general manager, in the Carrington Family, he would no longer hold actual power.
Regarding the 100 million funds he had embezzled, a portion would be deducted from his dividends each year as repayment. Of course, if his family was not content with this arrangement, they should not blame him for resolving the matter through legal proceedings.
"Dad, Uncle and Aunt have been very kind to me; I don’t know what Uncle did wrong to make you so angry. Could you please, for my sake, forgive Uncle this time?" Stella Carrington saw Simon’s face soften, and she immediately spoke up for Henry.
"Hmm, tomorrow Dad will take care of your uncle’s issue. You come home with me tonight to the old mansion. I’ve thought it over; if you are unwilling to return to M Country with me, I also plan to shift the focus of the Carrington Family back to our country. We will all return to stay with you; but before that, you should stay at the old mansion first," Simon said to Stella Carrington. He had already made arrangements there, and someone was specially accountable for all of Stella’s needs.
It would certainly be better than staying at Henry’s home; he truly disliked Shane Auclair and Heidi Carrington.
Heidi Carrington, the girl, he didn’t know if it was her mother’s influence, but she was truly disagreeable; so young, yet she made one feel that she was very scheming, and it was always in a bad way.
If Stella truly stayed with this family too long, she would surely turn bad as well.
"I..." Stella Carrington wanted to refuse; returning alone to the old mansion, what was that about? Here she had Sister Heidi to play and talk with; Aunt treated her well too, making sure the kitchen prepared whatever she liked. She was happy here; she didn’t want to go back to the old mansion alone, too lonely.
"Hmm, Stella, just listen to your dad, okay? As long as you don’t leave here, Sister Heidi and I will always find time to visit you," Shane Auclair had been instructed to comply with all of Simon’s arrangements, and Henry likely knew that they had really crossed Simon’s bottom line this time.
So, as Simon intended to take Stella away, he had instructed Shane not to interfere and even to help him persuade Stella.
"The old mansion is so far from here," Stella still felt unhappy.
"What does that matter, it’s just a short drive away," Shane chuckled.
Simon just listened to their conversation; he had already instructed those who would look after Stella not to allow her too frequent contact with Shane Auclair and Heidi Carrington. So, as long as Stella left this place, there would be someone to escort her daily, and he would not give the mother and daughter a chance to torment Stella again.
"Alright, I understand," Stella probably realized that staying with her uncle was no longer an option.
Heidi Carrington was actually very happy; she was truly fed up with catering to Stella Carrington. No longer having to carefully please the little girl felt quite good to her.
"Uncle, when are we going tomorrow?" Shane saw that Stella had finally agreed and felt a sigh of relief internally.
"Hmm, at ten," Simon had a bowl of soup, then set down his utensils and said to Stella, "Have you finished eating? If so, go upstairs and pack; the driver is waiting outside."
Stella Carrington, having little appetite, put down her utensils and headed upstairs, still somewhat sullen.
In the end, Stella Carrington left with Simon Carrington. Once they got home, Simon asked the servant to prepare some tasty congee for Stella, knowing she hadn’t eaten well in the evening.
Being a child, she didn’t refuse the tasty congee, consumed two bowls, and finally felt full and nourished.
"Now that you’ve eaten, go upstairs, take a bath, play for a while, and then it’s time to sleep; Dad has to step out for a bit," Simon instructed Stella before leaving the house.
The house was not as deserted as Stella had thought; Simon had called over his cousin Violet Carrington to take care of Stella from now on.
Violet was part of the Bachelor Clan; she had no plans to marry and enjoyed living a carefree life alone. She had a good sibling relationship with Simon, and among the many siblings in the Carrington Family, these two were the closest.
Thus, upon Simon’s request, she moved from home and came to the old mansion without a word, promptly agreeing to all of Simon’s demands.
Handing over Stella to her, Simon felt reassured, and Daisy Willow was much more at ease because of it.
When they married, she had met Violet Carrington, so she wasn’t too worried about Stella being taken care of by her.
Simon left to meet Henry.
He was always efficient in his business; he showed Henry the documents which were for Henry to voluntarily resign as the general manager of the Carrington branch, then to have ten million deducted from his annual dividends to repay the embezzled funds over ten years.
Simon, considering they were family, hadn’t even charged him interest.
In reality, these terms were not harsh; in fact, Simon was willing to let him off to some extent by making such an offer.
However, Henry was a prideful man; his actions had always been covert, known only to his close associates, so how could he explain his voluntary resignation to the staff, or what would he say to his many friends? How could he walk around with the same authority as now?
"Simon, can’t you just forgive me this once? I really won’t dare again," Henry still tried to advocate for himself.
"Everyone must pay the price for their actions," Simon said calmly, arms crossed, leaning back against his chair.
If he forgave Henry this time, as the CEO of the Carrington Family, how could he command respect, or manage such a large company? The company had many staff members.
Such matters could not be concealed forever, unless he was unaware. Once he knew and had dug it out, there must be a punishment, otherwise, would he still be expected to manage the company?
"..." Henry knew, this time, Simon had truly lost his patience and erupted completely.
He picked up the pen from the table, reluctantly signing his name under duress.
