Chapter 1121: 008 A new beginning, another storm_4
Simon Carrington’s eldest cousin and his wife, along with their daughter Heidi Carrington, didn’t return to Kyoto but waited in G City for their return.
Seeing the family of three, Simon guessed that his eldest cousin, Henry Carrington, surely had something to discuss with him, which was why they had stayed for so long.
Thus, both families invited the Carrington family of three to join them for a meal.
All members of the Willow family arrived, and the atmosphere during the meal was peaceful, at least on the surface. Henry’s family had little regard for Daisy Willow’s family.
"You went to Mount Infinite? It must have been crowded recently?" Millie Campbell said enviously. She had heard from others that Mount Infinite was a fun place and even considered having Samuel Willow take her and Kent to visit someday.
"Yes, it was so cold on the mountain peak," Daisy recalled, still feeling shiver at the memory.
The scenery of Mount Infinite was breathtaking, especially the sunrise from the summit. She believed it was no less spectacular than watching the sunrise from the top of Mount Taylor. In that most beautiful moment, she and Simon even took photos to commemorate it.
All in all, the trip was truly worthwhile—a very nice honeymoon trip.
"Then, let’s find time at the end of this month to take Kent with us," Samuel Willow told his wife, and Millie nodded in agreement.
Henry and his wife exchanged a look, clearly thinking the Willows were unsophisticated. They envied a mere trip to Mount Infinite so much. Given Simon’s status, choosing Mount Infinite in such an out-of-the-way place for a honeymoon indicated that Daisy Willow wasn’t that important to him in his heart.
If she was not important, there was no need for them to curry favor with her.
Once the couple reached a consensus, they barely showed interest in any of the Willows’ topics, except for being courteous to Stella and Liam Carrington, and they were quite indifferent towards Elena.
It was Simon, however, who took care of Elena throughout.
After dinner, the waiter brought them dessert fruit and a cup of tea each.
Simon then looked at Henry, with no intention of changing venues, "Eldest cousin, if you have something to say, say it here. We’re returning to M Country tomorrow, and we won’t be going back to Kyoto."
"Ah? I thought you would go back to Kyoto for a visit, so I was waiting to join you afterward," Henry hadn’t expected them to be returning to M Country the next day.
"I don’t have time. There are several project contracts over there that need my personal signature, and the kids also have hobbies that need to be properly nurtured," Simon said candidly.
There was also a branch of the Carrington Family business in Kyoto, currently managed by Henry.
"I see. Actually, Stella previously told her aunt that she didn’t want to return to M Country. She wishes to stay in our country. She was too embarrassed to talk to you both about it, so she asked me to speak for her. My thinking is this: Heidi and Stella have always had a close relationship. Look, would this be acceptable? Let the kid stay, and we’ll take care of her," Henry suggested.
Henry’s words completely took Simon by surprise. He had thought that Henry’s extended wait must have had something to do with the company. He had not expected it to be related to Stella.
Daisy was also shocked. She hadn’t realized Stella didn’t want to leave with them. Daisy had assumed that her lack of opposition to their marriage was consent, but now, did it mean Stella still couldn’t accept her and Elena?
Seeing Daisy’s complexion change, the Willow family also felt that the situation was quite inappropriate.
If Stella didn’t return to M Country with them now, it would reflect poorly on Daisy as the stepmother. Outsiders would say that she couldn’t tolerate her husband’s child from a previous marriage and had forced the child to not want to return home.
None of them could have expected Stella, such a young child, to cause such a stir.
To come up with such a challenging drama.
"Stella, is this what you want? To stay with your uncle and aunt?" Simon didn’t look at Henry but directly asked Stella. If Stella nodded, he thought he would undoubtedly agree.
"..." Stella hesitated, because Simon’s reaction was entirely different from what they had anticipated.
When Heidi suggested this idea earlier, it was supposed to test Simon’s feelings for her. They all believed that if she refused to auste with them, then Simon and Daisy would surely be anxious.
Indeed, both had shown a momentary change in their expressions, but Simon’s calm response when he questioned her was unexpected.
