Chapter 1120: 008 A new beginning, another storm_3

She was quite embarrassed, and quickly changed her clothes before heading out.

The room had been tidied up neatly, even the bed sheets had been changed by Simon Carrington; he was still waiting at the door for her, and the two of them held hands as they went downstairs together.

The breakfast was all made by Simon himself; he baked a tray of bread, squeezed two glasses of juice, fried two eggs, and served two slices of ham each—it was truly both lavish and nutritious.

"I’m not very good at making porridge, so I made these instead. Or would you like some milk?" Simon asked Daisy Willow. When they were in M Country, he remembered Daisy Willow always prepared milk for them.

Today he had opted for juice instead, wanting to switch things up a bit.

"Mm, this is already great. I should get up and cook next time," Daisy Willow nodded. She felt embarrassed having a man do these things, and certainly, this was due to the teachings of Mrs. Shen over the years, which had gradually ingrained in her the belief that men shouldn’t do household chores.

In reality, when her father was young and still robust, he would help her mother with household chores. He did not do it now because his body couldn’t handle it anymore.

Actually, a family needed both the husband and wife to manage together to be more blissful and complete. The concept of men outside, women inside, also implied a collaborative division of labor between men and women.

"Let’s eat. It doesn’t matter who does it, we don’t need such detailed division of labor. We have three days off; where would you like to go?" Simon sat down, and Daisy Willow sat across from him.

"Anywhere is fine, as long as I’m with you," Daisy Willow said with a smile, relishing the rare three days without the kids.

She actually knew that for Simon to be able to put down his work and spend over a month with her and the kids was not easy. This past month, without staff bothering them, was probably because they were all aware of their ongoing wedding plans; otherwise, Simon’s phone wouldn’t have been this quiet.

Three days later, they would take the kids and head back to M Country.

"Saying that satisfies all my male chauvinistic thoughts. Marrying you is truly my happiness," Simon said earnestly; everyone hoped for a wife who was like a gentle bird by their side.

Over the three days, they didn’t go too far and just looked for a quiet place nearby for a three-day trip.

They chose a mountain called Mount Infinite, about two hundred kilometers from the City Centre. After breakfast, they drove there and arrived around noon.

Mount Infinite, with its increasing altitude, offered visitors the distinct experience of the four seasons in a year; the base was the hot summer, halfway up were spring and autumn, and the summit was winter—even in the scorching heat of August, one would need a down jacket to beat the cold.

Many people came here to escape the summer heat. When they reached the foot of the mountain, it was already packed with people. Simon took a while to find parking, then bought tickets, and they each carried a small backpack loaded with water and snacks before starting their journey. There were rental down jackets at the summit, so they didn’t need to prepare anything else.

At the base of the mountain, they first enjoyed a hearty lunch followed by two cups of tea, appreciating the scenery before they started their climb at around three in the afternoon. By evening, they were only halfway up.

The couple wasn’t rushing; they climbed slowly and would be content with wherever they could reach.

Their three children were quite sensible, and no one disturbed them for these three days.

By the evening of the first day, the couple had indeed only reached halfway up the mountain. They found an inn there, had a meal of local farmhouse dishes, and took a leisurely walk afterwards—it felt quite pleasant.

The next day, they spent the whole day reaching the summit of Mount Infinite. It was indeed beautiful and very cold; Daisy Willow felt very chilly even donned in a warm down jacket.

Fortunately, they had hiked up. Had they taken the cable car, they would have probably frozen to death.

They stayed the night at the summit. The following morning, they watched the sunrise, took photos to cherish the moment, had breakfast, bought some souvenirs from the summit, and then took the cable car down the mountain.

When they got back to G City, it was just in time for dinner.

Simon’s parents handed over Stella and Liam to the couple, and without even having dinner, took the soonest flight and left.
