The Willow Family parents also agreed, and the two were finally together openly and legitimately.
Because of Stella Carrington’s unyielding nature, Simon Carrington had arranged for a driver to take her to Kyoto the day after meeting the Willows. Elijah Carrington, due to his popularity with the Willow Family and his desire to not separate from Elena Duncan, was exceptionally allowed by Simon Carrington to stay.
Stella Carrington didn’t want to leave, but Simon Carrington was insistent, and even Daisy Willow’s attempts to intercede were to no avail. Thus, she was sent away, leaving with tears brimming in her eyes, feeling wronged.
Seeing Simon Carrington so determined to support his daughter and granddaughter, and sending his own child away, the Willow parents were also comforted. Although they felt Simon Carrington might be a bit harsh on a child of just a few years old, little Stella Carrington was really not endearing at all. No matter how hard they tried to please her, it seemed impossible to integrate her into their family.
Feeling this way, they also didn’t want to be around her much. Out of sight, out of mind, that was probably the gist of it.
The couple found some time, taking Elena and Liam Carrington to visit the Hawkins Family.
They bought quite a few things needed for the baby to come, including two boxes of beautiful baby clothes. Knowing that the head of the Hawkins Family preferred girls, Simon Carrington catered to his preference by buying items for a baby girl.
When the four of them arrived at the Hawkins Family home, Bryan Hawkins was at home with Carolline Ruiz enjoying the sun, as the early morning summer sun was still mild. After half-past ten, it would be too strong to bask in anymore.
Therefore, Carolline Ruiz would get up at eight o’clock, bathe in the sunlight, have breakfast, go for a walk, and so on, all together.
The servants informed them upon their arrival. Axel, who had been doing his homework in his room, immediately put his work down and ran downstairs ahead of his parents, reaching the living room first.
"You’re here, please sit," Bryan Hawkins said, carefully supporting Carolline Ruiz. Carolline Ruiz, almost six months pregnant, now had a very noticeable belly.
"Do you have some good news to tell us?" Carolline Ruiz, after all, was a woman, and her thoughts were more nuanced. She could see the subtle expressions on their faces quite clearly, unlike Bryan Hawkins, who was more oblivious.
"Carolline, you truly have a discerning eye," Daisy Willow said, her face turning red with embarrassment upon Carolline Ruiz’s question. Simon Carrington feigned helplessness with a smile. They were indeed there to check on the expectant mother and to share their good news.
In fact, the two of them didn’t have many friends, so they decided not to make a big deal about it and just invite their close friends for a simple meal. Of course, even just inviting friends, along with relatives from both sides, they expected there wouldn’t be too few guests.
After all, being too simplistic would not be quite right either.
"Heh, then tell us," Carolline Ruiz chuckled. She had always felt the two had potential, but after a few encounters without sensing progress, she had thought they were not going to be together.
However, just as she thought it was not going to happen, the two naturally came together.
"There’s not much to say, just that we plan to get married. We don’t want to make a fuss, just to have a meal with our good friends. You’ll be available, right?" Simon Carrington was straightforward; indeed, they were planning to get married.
Actually, they didn’t have much time. They planned to sort everything out over the summer vacation and then spend the remaining time living well together.
"Hmm, so this is an invitation? There’s no need for formal invitations then? Isn’t this wedding a bit too casual, unfair to Daisy? What is it, is anyone opposing you?"
Carolline Ruiz’s question was loaded. She didn’t believe Daisy Willow should have to compromise so much in both marriages. If someone was objecting, she knew Simon Carrington well enough to believe he would stand up for Daisy Willow, shield her from the storm, unlike Cole Duncan, who let his mother oppress her continuously.
"No one is objecting. It’s just that all three kids still need to go to school, so we thought to keep it simple. A meal is enough; too complicated of a ceremony would take too much time," Daisy Willow explained eagerly. She didn’t want to waste too much time on their wedding.
"Right, makes sense. Getting it done early also avoids running around between countries. Now everyone is tied down by the kids. If you really had the wedding overseas, we might not be able to come," Carolline Ruiz understood. After all, they now spent more time living abroad.
