Chapter 1112: 006 Approval from Both Parents_5

"Hello Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle, and Auntie. Hello, Brother Kent." Before Simon could speak, Liam Carrington sweetly called out, familiarly resolving the prior awkwardness.

"Liam is such a good boy," Auntie said as she pulled out two red envelopes from her pocket and handed them to Liam. "Here’s a little something from Grandpa and Grandma for you, Liam."

"Uncle, Aunt, please don’t do this," Simon quickly intervened, as that was not their custom.

"We should, we should. Liam is already calling us Grandpa and Grandma, isn’t he? I really like this boy," Auntie said with a chuckle, her gaze occasionally sweeping toward Stella Carrington.

"Stella, it’s your turn," Simon, ever so observant, noticed Auntie’s glances towards Stella.

"Hello Grandpa Willow, Grandma Willow, Uncle, and Auntie," Stella Carrington greeted with apparent reluctance. But since Liam had already spoken, it seemed improper for her not to say anything.

Auntie’s hand, reaching into her coat pocket, trembled, unsure whether to pull out another envelope or not.

Samuel Willow and Millie Campbell were also stunned by Stella’s distant manner of address, unsure whether to respond.

Daisy Willow didn’t say anything; she took a step forward, bumping into her mother covertly, indicating that since Liam had his money, perhaps Stella should have hers too, without making distinctions due to their different forms of address.

Understanding Daisy Willow’s hint, Auntie pulled out another money and handed it to Stella, "Sweetie, this is Grandpa and Grandma’s token of affection for you too."

"Thank you," Stella accepted, her family was wealthy, but she never refused money, especially since her expenses were high.

However, when she felt the thinness of the money, Stella frowned—it seemed she had never received so little before.

To confirm her suspicion, without asking for an adult’s opinion, she opened the money. Two hundred bucks, she pouted, "I’ve never received so little money before."

For a moment, the composed expressions of Mr. and Mrs. Willow changed abruptly.

Daisy Willow also felt awkward; their family couldn’t compare with the Carrington relatives, and such an awkward remark left Daisy Willow at a loss for how to smooth things over.

"I... I’m just telling the truth. Dad, did I do something wrong?" Realizing the Willow family’s awkwardness, Stella chuckled inwardly but looked innocently at Simon and asked. Before Simon could reply, she turned to Daisy Willow, "Auntie Daisy, wasn’t it you who taught me that children should tell the truth? I told the truth, did I do something wrong?"

"No, of course not," Daisy Willow quickly shook her head. Normally, that’s indeed what they taught, but she didn’t know how to explain to Stella that sometimes it’s not necessary to be so blunt. She thought that, since Stella was just a young child, explaining too philosophically might confuse her, "This is Grandpa’s and Grandma’s token of love. Though it’s a bit small, it does carry their love for you and Liam."

"Mom, I understand. It’s called ’the gift is small, but the thought is deep’, right? Sister Elena taught me that," Liam suddenly spoke, easing the room’s tension.

Upon hearing Liam openly call Daisy Willow ’Mom’, Mr. and Mrs. Willow finally showed relieved smiles. Liam was truly adorable. Without him today, they wondered how they would have resolved the awkwardness.

Stella was furious, her carefully engineered tense situation had been so easily defused by Liam, much to her irritation.

Simon looked apologetically at Daisy Willow. Stella had promised to behave before they left home, but here she was, still causing heartache.

Daisy Willow shook her head at him, signaling him not to worry; she didn’t mind.

The adults talked together for a while, and the three children played in the room. Of course, the noisy ones were Elena and Liam, while Stella sat aside, watching them with a detached air.

In the living room, though the conversation was tainted by Stella’s rudeness, it was still generally good, thanks to Liam’s thoughtful nature. Mr. and Mrs. Willow ultimately supported the two young people being together.

After all, Simon was mature. From their conversation with him, the Willows clearly knew that he was different from Cole Duncan, not just a mama’s boy. Such a man could ensure their daughter’s happiness.

After receiving Mr. and Mrs. Willow’s approval, Simon and Daisy Willow exchanged looks, their hands unconsciously intertwining. With the support of both sets of parents, they felt at peace.
