Chapter 1102: Honeymoon Ruined_5

Joking around with Avery Graham and the others was one thing, but Camelia Hawkins was her sister-in-law after all, and Sophie Carlson was her sister-in-law too, so discussing this matter with them made her a bit uncomfortable and it was something she wasn’t used to.

Sophie Carlson laughed along from the side, but seeing Carolline Ruiz’s face turn so red, she hadn’t expected that her sister-in-law, even pregnant with her second child, was still so innocent.

"Camelia, stop joking. Everyone has had their honeymoon and naturally knows that going to so many places can be exhausting," Sophie Carlson said, quickly steering the conversation away.

"I was just joking, sis. You’re not mad, are you?" Camelia realized she had been a bit too outspoken.

"Not at all," Carolline Ruiz said with a laugh, shaking her head.

Meanwhile, William Hawkins and Bryan Hawkins were drinking tea there. It was then that Bryan remembered, "William, you can have your annual leave, but my honeymoon isn’t over yet, so wait until I’m back at work before you take yours."

"What?" William Hawkins hadn’t expected his big brother to pull this move at that time.

"That’s settled then. I still have ten days of marriage leave. You’ll also have to wait ten days, no matter how urgent it is," Bryan Hawkins said, dismissing him, and then stood up to walk over to his wife, as it was getting late and Carolline Ruiz needed to rest early.

He had taken the time today to create a schedule, and from now on, their household would strictly follow this schedule, not just for Carolline but also for him and Axel.

As for Axel, he had directly instructed Sophia Lawson on when Axel should go to sleep, and then he walked over to Carolline.

"Wife, it’s time to go to bed. No more chatting," Bryan Hawkins said gently as he approached.

"No way? Big brother, it’s so early, just nine o’clock and you’re already sending sister-in-law to bed? Can she even sleep this early?" Camelia Hawkins exaggeratedly asked, as those with children wouldn’t be able to sleep that early either.

"You might as well raise a night owl then. Axel is also going to bed in half an hour. Your habits as a mother are so poor; see what will become of your child when they grow up," Bryan scolded Camelia a bit, then didn’t mind them any longer, taking Carolline by the hand.

Carolline let him pull her along to their room.

"Sis, my brother controls you way too much," Camelia lamented behind them. A glare from Bryan Hawkins made Camelia finally zip it.

Carolline knew that Bryan was just caring for her, though in her eyes, his actions were indeed a bit excessive. But she understood; during her first pregnancy with Axel, she indeed did not give him a chance. Now with a second child on the way, it was natural for him as an inexperienced father to be much more nervous.

So, to her, it was all right.

Once inside their room, they moved things around here and there, and Bryan personally went downstairs to make a cup of pregnant milk for Carolline, insisting she also take her folic acid tablets.

Only then did the two of them go to bed.

That afternoon, Bryan had gone out alone to buy lots of things, and Carolline couldn’t help but admire him. For the sake of the baby in her belly, he as a father had really done a lot of homework.

"Wife, can’t you sleep?" After lying there for a while and not hearing Carolline’s even breathing, Bryan propped himself up to look at her, and indeed, she was staring with wide-open eyes.

"It’s okay; I just slept too much in the afternoon. I’ll slowly quiet down in a while, then I’ll fall asleep." That afternoon, when Bryan had gone out to shop, she had slept at home, nearly losing her entire afternoon to sleep.

The result of sleeping too long in the afternoon was lying awake for half the night.

"Let me tell you a story," Bryan suggested, treating Carolline with the same patience he showed Axel.

"No need, we can just chat," Carolline said, feeling embarrassed; she wasn’t a child who needed her husband to tell her a story.

"Sure, what would you like to talk about? Tell me about when you were pregnant with Axel," Bryan insisted, even though Carolline had told the story several times before. He always wanted to hear it again because he hadn’t been by her side during that time, and he felt that hearing these stories multiple times would make the experience more profound for him.

He knew that having a baby and going through pregnancy must be very hard for a woman. A child has to grow in a woman’s womb for ten months, which is definitely tough.

Carolline had no choice but to patiently begin describing her pregnancy with Axel again, as Bryan listened very earnestly and attentively. After Carolline finished, he sighed, leaned over, and planted a kiss on her left cheek, "Wife, I’ll make up the honeymoon to you later. Once the kids are a bit older, we’ll go on a honeymoon every year."

Carolline: "..."

She really didn’t feel that this honeymoon had been ruined by the baby, so why did everyone think so and even feel especially indebted to her.
