Chapter 1101: 004 The Ruined Honeymoon_4

During the dinner, Bryan Hawkins kept expressing his desire for a daughter, and Camelia Hawkins laughed and said, "Big Brother, people always say you shouldn’t want something too much; otherwise, it’s even harder to get it. Doesn’t any child your wife gives birth to deserve the same love from you?"

Camelia Hawkins really couldn’t understand those fathers who preferred sons or desperately wanted daughters. Wasn’t the matter of having boys or girls supposed to be left to nature?

"Can’t you just say something nice? Camelia, are you trying to infuriate your elder brother? Don’t worry, Big Brother, I think this time your wife will definitely make your wish come true." William Hawkins spoke pleasingly.

His pleasing attitude toward his elder brother was, of course, because he needed a favor from him.

"Hmm, you, my Second Brother, know how to speak pleasantly," Bryan Hawkins said with satisfaction.

Camelia Hawkins pouted, "Nice words are always fake, and the truth is often unpleasant."

Carolline Ruiz smiled with pursed lips; Camelia’s character was very straightforward and genuine.

Bryan Hawkins frowned again, feeling instantly that indulging this sister had been a waste, then he turned to Dustin Paul, "Is this how you manage your wife?"

"Big Brother, why bring Dustin into this?" Camelia Hawkins quickly came to her husband’s defense in a protective manner, "Besides, do you marry a wife to manage her? You’re supposed to cherish her, right? Honey—"

"Yeah, eat up, you love drumsticks the most." Dustin Paul truly adored his wife, and among so many kids at the table, he still made sure to put a drumstick into Camelia’s bowl.

It was because his wife also liked the foods that kids enjoyed.

"Thank you, honey." Camelia Hawkins said sweetly. Her previous reluctance to have children, especially a daughter—because she didn’t want a daughter to compete for Dustin’s affection—was now needless. She was the treasure in Dustin’s hands.

Thinking about their challenging journey together, they both now treasured their relationship even more.

The family watched the couple display their affection. Bryan Hawkins quickly served his wife a bowl of chicken soup, bringing the entire sand pot to their table, "This chicken soup is especially for my wife, nobody else take any."

Carolline Ruiz was speechless; when had it become specifically for her?

"There’s plenty more in the kitchen, too much to drink up." Sophia Lawson said with a smile. Each parent adoring their own child wasn’t bad, just not so selfish.

She indulged them.

Seizing the moment, William Hawkins made his request—he wanted annual leave, and Bryan Hawkins, in his good mood, agreed immediately. Only later did he realize he had fallen into William’s trap, but a man’s promise is his bond, so Bryan Hawkins could do nothing about it, and William Hawkins happily went to look after his wife and twin children.

Because his elder brother envied him for having a daughter, William truly spoiled Oscar Cooper to the skies, unlike Aiden Axon, who didn’t receive the same level of spoiling; after all, spoiling a boy too much surely leads to no good.

After dinner, Axel, being the oldest child, stayed to play with Aiden Axon and Oscar Cooper. Camelia’s children were the youngest.

Madelyn Lincoln, Camelia Hawkins, and Carolline Ruiz sat in the living room chatting, while Sophia Lawson, along with the servants, helped everyone tidy up their rooms.

Mrs. Hawkins returned to her room, took a bath with the help of her personal servant, then joined their conversation as well.

"I’m wondering, was this all Big Brother’s strategy? Not even through with the honeymoon and he got you pregnant with the second child. Aren’t you upset, sister-in-law?" The more Camelia Hawkins thought about it, the more suspicious she became. Even though she was blood-related to her big brother and second brother, she adored her sisters-in-law incredibly.

So, her sympathy leaned more toward them.

"It’s nothing to be upset about, really. Going out is quite exhausting, both mentally and physically, better to stay at home," Carolline Ruiz said with a laugh. Of course, their arrangement to travel without a travel agency was supposed to be more relaxing, but who knew Bryan Hawkins could be so demanding, especially his nighttime needs, making it quite challenging for her to cope.

"Is that so? I don’t think it’s about the travel being tiring, but more about serving Big Brother that’s exhausting, right?" As a married woman herself, Camelia Hawkins clearly understood where Carolline’s complaint was coming from.

With Camelia Hawkins pointing it out so bluntly, Carolline Ruiz’s face instantly reddened. Even though she was probably the most experienced among the three women regarding matters of intimacy, she was always shy about it.
