Both cars headed toward People Hospital, where Sophia Lawson had originally planned to go for a private hospital check-up, but Henry Ruiz thought that People Hospital was just fine.

After all, the father and daughter had both worked there, and they didn’t need VIP access to use the special passage.

The check-up for Carolline Ruiz went very smoothly. Henry Ruiz put on a white coat, and Carolline was able to proceed smoothly with her blood test and Ultrasound.

The blood test was to check the various indicators for pregnant women, especially whether the Progesterone levels were up to standard. The Ultrasound was for examining whether the embryo was inside the uterus.

Everything was normal, and Henry Ruiz went to get two bottles of folic acid for Carolline and told her to start taking them now.

Once they confirmed it was an intrauterine pregnancy, Bryan Hawkins, the second fool, immediately asked the doctor, "Doctor, can you tell if it’s a boy or a girl?"

All the elders along with Carolline and the doctor who sat there looked at Bryan Hawkins as if he were a strange creature. "Mr. Hawkins, you’re not a first-time father, are you? If you want to find out the gender, you have to wait until four months later. Carolline has just gotten pregnant. The child is still just a cluster of cells; it hasn’t even taken human shape yet. Don’t be too anxious."

"Oh, thank you," Bryan Hawkins replied, a bit disappointed. He had thought they’d be able to see the child while it was still in its mother’s belly.

Although he was not a first-time father, it was his first time being by Carolline Ruiz’s side through her pregnancy.

He remembered the last time, when Carolline was pregnant with Axel, it had been a sore point for him—Carolline had divorced him as soon as she got pregnant. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have made such a fool of himself.

After the check-up, Carolline went home with Bryan Hawkins. Due to Sophia Lawson’s insistence, they were to stay at the villa for a couple of days, to take advantage of the time before Axel started school to help them take good care of their health.

Additionally, Sophia Lawson had found some nutritionists skilled at making meals for pregnant women and was currently in the process of selecting one.

Once all this was settled, she would let Carolline and Bryan Hawkins return to their own home, which would give her peace of mind.

Knowing Sophia Lawson was thinking of her well-being, Carolline also agreed. Sophia Lawson liked how Carolline was obedient, considerate, and sensible.

On the other hand, Sophie Carlson... she wasn’t too fond of her. While Carolline took a break from her job during pregnancy, Sophie Carlson did not. Stubborn as a bull, she had a mind of her own—a key reason being that William Hawkins just adored his wife.

Whatever his wife said went. If it wasn’t for the fact that Sophie Carlson’s mother was her close friend, she really wouldn’t have accepted Sophie Carlson as their daughter-in-law.

Of course, now that Carolline had returned, and she was so pleasing to her, naturally, she didn’t think too much about William Hawkins’s situation.

Because of Carolline’s pregnancy, Sophia Lawson still had her husband call William Hawkins and his family, although there’s a common saying that one shouldn’t share the news for the first three months. However, it’s still possible for the family to sit down and celebrate together.

William Hawkins came back with his son and daughter, and Sophie Carlson prepared a gift for Carolline, "Big Sister, congratulations."

"Thank you, I also have gifts for you. Let’s eat first, after dinner, you can get it from my room." Carolline took it; Sophie Carlson had given her a talisman, likely for blessings, which was really thoughtful.

In reality, William Hawkins wasn’t silly, he was just showing off in front of Bryan Hawkins, as he already had both a son and a daughter.

"Whether it’s a son or a daughter, it’s good as long as the child is healthy," the Hawkins family matriarch intervened, just having put away the gift Carolline had given her in her room.

"Grandma, what have you eaten? You haven’t even wiped your mouth clean," William Hawkins, with sharp eyes, pointed out as he approached her, looking as if he had caught her in the act.

"Go away, you’re never serious," the elder Mrs. Hawkins chided, hitting him lightly.

That rascal, even as a father, he was becoming less and less disciplined.

"I’m just trying to lighten the mood, would I really steal food from your mouth?" William Hawkins pretended to be aggrieved as the family, in such a lively atmosphere, all laughed heartily.

Camelia Hawkins’s family also came back. Carolline truly hadn’t expected that her pregnancy would bring the whole family together like this. She felt a bit embarrassed; she knew they were all quite busy.

It felt so good to be with the whole family. Carolline really felt lucky to have such in-laws.
