Chapter 1090: 002 Facing the threat head-on_6
Elena Duncan found it extremely difficult to communicate with Stella Carrington. She just couldn’t grasp what was going on in her head. Why did she despise her mother so much?
"..." Stella Carrington was at a loss for words. If speaking directly to Dad were effective, would she even need to waste her breath with them?
"Elena Duncan, do you want my dad to be your dad? Let me tell you, that’s never going to happen. You and your mother are despicable people. You don’t deserve the Carrington name. Go back and tell your mom she has no right to it—that goes for any woman except her," Stella Carrington screamed, unfazed by the prospect of being overheard.
"..." Elena took two steps back, shocked by Stella’s twisted heart. What did she mean by any woman having that right except her mother?
What was so inferior about her mother? She had noticed that Uncle Carrington seemed quite fond of her mom.
"Is that so? Listen well, Stella Carrington. I used to tolerate and avoid you, not out of fear, but because you are Uncle Carrington’s daughter. But now, because of what you’ve just said, I am indeed planning to call Uncle Carrington ’Dad’ for the rest of my life. You hate us so much? Well, we’ll be in your presence forever, just to annoy you. Just you wait," Elena retorted.
Elena decided she wouldn’t hold back anymore. Her previous forbearance, just as she mentioned, was strictly out of respect for Uncle Carrington. But everyone has their limits, and Stella’s insults to her mother were intolerable.
Having said that, Elena turned around and left, regardless of the variety of expressions on Stella’s face.
"..." Stella just watched as Elena walked away, never expecting this seemingly meek girl to have such a forceful side to her.
Hmph, she would like to see how Elena would make her word a reality.
Forget about her, even her grandparents wouldn’t approve of Daisy Willow’s background—a woman who had been divorced and embroiled in a lawsuit. How could such a person be good?
She was curious to see how Elena would manage to turn her father into her own dad.
When Elena returned to her room, Daisy Willow immediately noticed her puffed-up anger. She guessed that Stella must have used some pretext to call Elena over and then gave her a hard time.
"Elena, I’m sorry, I’ve thought it over. Once this half-year is up, I’ll resign with Uncle Carrington, and we’ll go back to G City to be with your grandparents, your uncle, and your aunt. Then our family won’t have to separate. How about that?" Daisy had made up her mind to take Elena back once the contract was up.
Although Simon Carrington had explained to her that staying abroad for studies would be beneficial for Elena’s future, having someone like Stella around, she felt, could negatively affect Elena’s mental health.
"No, Mom, I really like M Country. And you taught me that one should ’return the favor with a spring-like bounty,’ meaning if someone helps you, you should repay them with much more. So, since Uncle Carrington has been so kind to us, helping us to stay away from Grandma, shouldn’t we repay him with much more? Unless Uncle Carrington no longer needs us, so, Mom, let’s not talk of leaving on our own initiative, okay?" Elena directly refused.
If she had never thought of this before, now, whether it was out of spite or not, she even wanted to try and bring her mom and Uncle Carrington together.
Although she wasn’t sure if her mom liked Uncle Carrington, she believed that if he became her mom’s husband, he would be different from Dad—he would make her mom smile.
She had stumbled upon her mother and Uncle Carrington in the kitchen several times, sharing light-hearted and cheerful moments.
She felt that if her mom and Uncle Carrington truly got together, they would both be happy.
"But what about Stella..." Daisy thought Elena probably didn’t like Stella either, as Stella’s personality could sometimes be too much to handle.
"Don’t worry about her. She is who she is; we’ll just interact with her less from now on," Elena consoled her mom, then changed the subject, "Alright, Mom, I’m so sleepy. Let’s both get some rest."
"Okay, then," Daisy replied, seeing that Elena didn’t want to chat any longer and was yawning continuously, she agreed.
Simon and the others played downstairs until four in the morning, and then they bought two family buckets and ordered two fast-food meals before going upstairs to wake Daisy and Elena. They called Stella to join them as they set off.
