Chapter 1091: 002 Facing the threat head-on_7

Stella Carrington saw Elena Duncan with Daisy Willow, snorted through her nose, and turned to walk on Simon Carrington’s left side.

Simon Carrington handed a bucket meal to Elena and took another fast-food meal for Daisy Willow, "We’ll eat this in the car later, and once we’re home, we’ll go out for something delicious, okay, Elena?"

"No problem, Uncle Simon," Elena Duncan responded sweetly, tilting her face up.

"Elena is really well-behaved," Simon Carrington nodded.

"Sister Elena, this is the teddy bear I won with dad this afternoon at Electa City, I want to give it to you," Liam Carrington said, handing the teddy bear to Elena.

"Hmm, thank you, Liam," said Elena, deeply touched.

Because there was only one teddy bear, the person Liam Carrington thought of first was always her.

She looked up at Stella Carrington, thinking that Stella must be feeling devastated inside, considering her own brother treated such an outsider better than he treated her—how could her sister be comfortable?

Stella Carrington turned her head and gnawed on a chicken leg from the bucket meal, dismissing the discomfort in her heart, thinking it was just a silly teddy bear after all—holding on to it was as foolish as it got.

The group got into the car, and the driver took them towards the airport.

——Line Break——

After hours of flight, they arrived close to noon.

The servants had received a call early and prepared a sumptuous lunch; after eating, everyone retired to their rooms to rest.

When the Carrington patriarch was still around, Daisy Willow’s main duty was to take care of him and the daily needs of the three children, but now that the patriarch was gone, Daisy Willow was solely focused on looking after the children.

If the school reported any issues concerning the children, Daisy Willow was certainly the family member notified, so at one point, teachers even thought she was the children’s mother.

Until Stella Carrington could no longer bear it and told the teachers that she was merely a servant in their household. Later, when the teachers reached out to Simon Carrington, he instructed them to speak directly with Daisy, who eventually became the children’s guardian.

Other household chores were handled by a specialized team of servants.

Daisy Willow would occasionally prepare breakfast, and she also took care of dinner after school because Liam Carrington would only eat what Daisy cooked. He didn’t eat much of what other servants prepared.

In this household, the servants addressed Stella Carrington and Liam Carrington as lady and young master, and when referring to Elena, they used Lady Elena, which greatly displeased Stella.

She believed, why should Elena Duncan, a servant’s daughter, be addressed as a lady just like her? But since it was her father who insisted on this formality, a child like herself naturally had no authority to comment.

"There are a few days left before school starts, but the piano teachers are on duty, so take a lunch break and both of you come join the piano class," Simon Carrington said to Stella and Elena after lunch.

"Yes, Uncle Simon," Elena responded straightforwardly.

Stella did not wish to play the piano. Despite her higher status and being the legitimate daughter of the Carrington Family, Elena possessed more talent. The piano teacher wouldn’t favor her either and would simply praise the one who played better.

She despised this unyielding character; hence, she preferred her own country where identity and status dictated conversations. In Kyoto, even if a poor child performed excellently, the teachers would never praise a poor child but her instead.

But here, it was different. She constantly felt that she fell short of Elena in every aspect.

"Dad, I don’t want to practice piano today," Stella Carrington whined to Simon Carrington as he prepared to go upstairs.

"Why?" Simon Carrington asked sternly. He reasoned that having played for so many days, she should have had enough by now.

"No reason, just too tired from coming back," Stella Carrington pouted, seeing Simon Carrington’s sternness, feeling somewhat aggrieved.

"That’s why I told you to go back to your room to rest. Isn’t the practice starting at four? How tired can an hour be?" Simon Carrington showed an uncompromising demeanor and Stella Carrington could only flush her eyes and fall silent.

Looking at her like that, she appeared extremely pitiful.

Daisy Willow initially wanted to speak up for her, but after some thought, she decided against it. After all, Simon Carrington was her father, and she was merely an outsider.

"Daisy, come upstairs with me," Simon Carrington decided and said to Daisy Willow, leaving the three children downstairs unattended.

Elena immediately headed back to her room; she had to manage her time well, as there were many tasks at hand, like tidying up her room, organizing her suitcase, and also grabbing some sleep.

Liam Carrington too dragged his small suitcase back to his room.

Stella Carrington was left standing there until everyone had left. Only then did she wipe her eyes, no longer playing the part of the pitiful girl.

She turned and asked a servant for a glass of juice before heading back to her room.

Daisy Willow went straight to Simon Carrington’s study. Whenever Simon Carrington wanted to speak with her privately, it was always in the study.

When Daisy Willow knocked and entered, Simon Carrington was starting up his computer. Seeing her come in, he stood up, walked to the bamboo chair beside him, and sat down. Daisy followed and sat down opposite him.

However, after a long silence, Simon Carrington did not speak.

Daisy Willow patiently waited, and after a while, Simon Carrington finally began, "There’s something I’ve been considering for a long time, and I’ve decided to tell you."
