Chapter 1089: 002 Facing the threat head-on_5
His friends had all said Daisy Willow had been of great help to him, and he felt the same way. He knew that if he were to look for a wife in the future, he would definitely want someone like Daisy Willow.
Moreover, he had quite a fondness for Daisy Willow. It’s just that now was not the best time, as both Daisy Willow and he had just ended their previous marriages not long ago. The Duncan Family had already misunderstood their relationship. Of course, he was not at all worried about the Duncan Family’s misunderstanding; what concerned him was whether Daisy Willow could get over it herself.
"After lunch, I’ve booked two rooms by the hour for you and Elena to take a nap," Simon Carrington said to Daisy Willow, knowing they’d gotten up early that day.
"That might not be necessary; it’s only a few hours," Daisy Willow felt it was truly a waste of money.
"You need to rest. We still have that long flight ahead of us. You and Elena will share one room while I take care of the two of them." By the time they got back to M Country, all three children would be Daisy Willow’s responsibility.
Despite having servants at home, Liam Carrington was particularly reliant on Daisy Willow.
"Dad, I want to share a room with Auntie too," Liam Carrington said to Simon Carrington.
"No, Auntie and Elena got up very early today; let them rest well." Simon Carrington refused outright, "Usually, aren’t you kids complaining that Dad doesn’t have time to spend with you? This afternoon I can spend some good time with you."
"Okay, then Dad, you can watch ’Bald Qiang’ with me," Liam Carrington seized the moment to make a request.
"Alright, no problem," Simon Carrington nodded in agreement, although he had no idea what ’Bald Qiang’ was.
At lunch, Stella Carrington’s little schemes had ultimately failed, but she wouldn’t give up.
She wanted to see just how thick-skinned Daisy Willow and her daughter Elena could be.
After the meal, Daisy Willow took Elena to their room to rest.
Stella Carrington, holding a picture book, ran over to look for Elena, "Elena, I need a little favor from you, can you come to my room?"
"Sure." Elena, who was talented in drawing like Stella Carrington, had been deliberately cultivated by Simon Carrington in music, chess, calligraphy, painting, and he had instructed them to focus on learning without feeling too burdened; he wouldn’t press them to achieve at any specific level.
The purpose of learning these arts was only to cultivate their sentiments, not to make them feel stressed.
Even so, Elena excelled in many ways over Stella Carrington, even in painting, where her color mixing ability was incomparable; even her teachers couldn’t stop praising her. The colors she mixed made the same objects appear particularly bright and beautiful.
Sometimes, Elena would help Stella with color mixing. She had a simple idea: as long as Stella didn’t make things too difficult for her and her mother, she could still become friends with her—after all, Stella was Uncle Simon’s daughter, wasn’t she?
To her, Uncle Simon’s children were friends, not enemies.
"Mom, I’m going to help Stella with her painting, I’ll be back in a bit," Elena said as she left the room to tell Daisy Willow.
"Okay," Daisy Willow nodded in agreement, since both rooms were on the same floor. Even if not right next door, they weren’t far apart.
When Elena entered the room, she expected to find Simon and Liam Carrington, but only Stella Carrington was there. "Where are Uncle Simon and Liam?"
"Liam doesn’t want to watch ’Bald Qiang’ anymore. There’s an Electa City downstairs, and I suggested Liam go play there, naturally, Dad had to go with him," Stella Carrington explained.
"Oh, is it the color mixing you’re having trouble with? Let me have a look," Elena was genuinely looking forward to taking a nap, knowing it was hard to sleep on the plane, so she wanted to help Stella quickly and then return to her mother.
"Really think you’re a painter now, do you?" Instead of showing her the painting, Stella Carrington mocked her coldly.
"?" Elena frowned, wondering what was gotten into Stella Carrington, "You don’t really need my help, do you? If that’s the case, I’ll be leaving."
"Elena Duncan, let me tell you something. I’ve allowed you and your mother to come with us to M Country, but I can only tolerate you and your mother for six more months. After that, you’d better find an excuse to leave us. Otherwise, I won’t make life easy for you two," Stella Carrington threatened coldly, feeling not the slightest affection for them.
"My mom was hired by Great-Grandfather. Although I’ve been following Uncle Simon’s advice, always calling you by name, in the eyes of Mom and me, you, Uncle Simon, and Liam are my mother’s employers. I don’t know where my mom has gone wrong to make you dislike her so much. If you really don’t like us, why not tell Uncle Simon and have him dismiss my mom? Your bullying is pointless, you know?"
