Chapter 1088: 002 Facing the threat head-on_4

"Thank you, Stella, you really are thoughtful," Daisy Willow was such a person; even if Stella Carrington was sometimes rude to her, as soon as she acted a bit friendly, Daisy couldn’t stay mad at her.

Primarily because she was still a child and the daughter of Simon Carrington, and she wasn’t much older than Elena Duncan.

"You’re welcome, we are all family after all, that’s what dad always tells me, Auntie Daisy," Stella said with a smile, always holding back her dissatisfaction with Daisy Willow in front of Simon Carrington.

"Yes, Elena, sit down, weren’t you saying you were hungry just now?" Daisy nodded at Elena, inviting her to sit.

Simon Carrington watched his daughter being so sensible and finally felt some relief; he also gestured for Elena to sit down, "Elena, order whatever you like to eat; Uncle Simon will eat these."

"Dad, I ordered for you too; it’s right here," Stella said to Simon Carrington, as she brought over another plate filled with all his favorite dishes.

"?" Simon was quite surprised, not having expected Stella to be so thoughtful, "Thank you, Stella."

"You’re welcome, you’re my dad." Stella smiled sweetly, looking at Elena with some disdain; she wanted to see what Elena’s reaction would be, because she believed that Elena saw all her intentions clearly.

She just wanted to make it clear to Elena that she and her mother were both equally annoying people.

However, what Simon did next disrupted all of Stella’s calculations. He moved the food Stella had gotten for him in front of Elena; she had forgotten that Elena’s tastes were almost identical to Simon’s now. Simon liked the food, and so did Elena.

Sometimes, she was puzzled that although she and Liam Carrington were Simon’s children, their tastes were different from his; yet Elena, clearly an outsider, managed to adapt to Simon’s preferences.

She felt that Elena was deliberately trying to please their father by catering to his likes.

Anyway, whatever Simon liked and mentioned, Elena, that annoying girl, seemed particularly eager to learn and was even good at it.

"Don’t give it all to Elena; Stella helped you order this, and Elena and I have enough with these," Daisy had noticed the sign that the shop owner had magnified and hung in the store, advocating saving and stating that wasting was disgraceful and would incur a cost.

"Elena likes this dish; Uncle Simon cooked it all for you," Simon helped Elena by cooking all the food she liked, and also cooked the ones Stella had intentionally made difficult.

"Thank you, Uncle Simon," Elena smiled sweetly. She clearly understood Stella’s tricks and knew her mom wouldn’t say anything, nor would she; after all, her mom had told her that Uncle Simon was their boss. Although she had everything the same as Stella and Liam, her mom had reminded her to be aware of their own status.

She knew that, hence she wouldn’t overstep.

Stella Carrington’s clever plan had thus fallen through.

Daisy Willow looked apologetically at Elena; she knew her daughter had put up with a lot from Stella because of her, and swore when they left the Duncan Family that she wouldn’t let Elena suffer. But now...

Actually, Daisy felt somewhat guilty, but she also didn’t want Stella to think she had any ulterior motives regarding her dad, and besides, the contract she signed was only for a year, perhaps after this year, she would take Elena and leave.

Simon Carrington looked at Daisy Willow, noticing how her gaze towards Elena became vacant; he knew Stella was rather pampered. Since she was born from Irene Houston’s womb, everyone in the family had coddled her like a treasure, and during that time, he had not fulfilled his responsibilities as a father.

Moreover, Stella’s background was indeed pitiful. Irene Houston’s biggest worry when she left was Stella being mistreated. He didn’t want Stella to suffer either.

Still, if Stella went too far, he would still stand up and speak out.

It’s just that, Stella always behaved well in front of him, and Daisy Willow wouldn’t tell him about Stella’s behavior when he was not around.

Lately, he had indeed been quite busy; if it weren’t for Daisy helping to look after the children, he really couldn’t have focused entirely on his work.
