Chapter 1070: 027 Pampering Wife Memoir (Final Chapter)

After breakfast, four people hurried to the hospital. What Avery Graham hadn’t expected was that her mother had informed her father and Nancy Sallow had also informed Jacob Taylor. It was just to confirm a diagnosis, yet so many people had come along.

Luckily, they didn’t go to People Hospital or Second Hospital; had acquaintances seen such a scene, Avery Graham felt it would have been utterly embarrassing.

Bernard Taylor found the head nurse and explained their situation. The head nurse, seeing that they were only checking for a pregnancy and yet so many family members had come along, and seeing Avery Graham’s somewhat helpless smile, greatly understood.

The head nurse asked them some questions. Nancy Sallow immediately came over and said she wanted to get a VIP Card, which would allow them to use the green fast track.

Avery Graham and her party arrived rather late, but they ended up being checked faster than others.

It was confirmed that she was pregnant, and all her indicators were good; the progesterone was also fine, so the doctor’s advice was to maintain a good mood and take some folic acid supplements.

Finally, they reminded them to choose a hospital to file their records within three months and be ready for prenatal checkups at any time.

Everything was exceptionally normal.

"Bernard, now that Avery is pregnant, why don’t you and Avery move in with us? After all, we have servants at home, I can accompany Avery nicely, and you can go to work with peace of mind," Nancy Sallow suggested. As a mother-in-law, she had been longing eagerly for this grandchild, and even though the baby was still in Avery’s stomach, she couldn’t bear to be away from her for a day.

She wanted to start bonding with her grandson while he was still in Avery’s belly.

"No need, we can take care of ourselves. When necessary, I’ll hire someone to help," Bernard Taylor declined directly. He understood Nancy Sallow’s intentions, but not just Avery— even he couldn’t stand too much of Nancy Sallow’s kindness.

"..." Nancy Sallow was frustrated and was about to persuade Avery when Bernard Taylor quickly interrupted her, "Mom, don’t bother, I’m in charge of our home, so don’t try to persuade her."

Nancy Sallow + Avery Graham + Mrs. Graham: "..."

The three women were somewhat speechless; Bernard’s statement was too assertive.

Nancy Sallow was stunned.

Avery Graham was secretly pleased. She truly didn’t want to live with her mother-in-law, especially after seeing Nancy Sallow’s reaction to her pregnancy. She could tell that living with Nancy Sallow would make her life difficult.

Thus, she quite liked Bernard’s show of assertiveness.

Mrs. Graham was a bit depressed. It was only the second day of marriage, and already Bernard was declaring his authority over household decisions. She hadn’t thought about what her daughter should do, but to speak so assertively so soon after the wedding, might that not be inappropriate?

"Alright, both moms, Avery is in good health. We’re planning to go on our honeymoon—a week-long domestic trip. You all can go back first; we need to discuss this properly," Bernard Taylor said as he wrapped his arm around Avery Graham’s waist and headed towards his car.

"What? You still want to travel now?" Nancy Sallow was the first to object, but seeing her son’s determined look, she lost her resolve, "If you must go, then let us accompany you. Having more people take care of Avery is always better, right? Dear?"

"Yes, that’s right. Bernard, Avery is pregnant, and you have no experience. The two of you going alone, your mother and I really can’t be at ease," Mrs. Graham said. She herself wasn’t at ease either.

Not living with the elders was fine; she knew her daughter Avery’s temperament. If Avery really had to live with her mother-in-law, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship certainly wouldn’t be as harmonious as it was now.

So not living together was quite good. Besides, the Residential Area Bernard had bought had a decent environment and no unnecessary people.

But she was still against them going on a trip because while they were here, she could still cook and bring delicious food over, or have them drive home for meals.

If they went away, who would prepare nutritious meals for Avery?

"!" Seeing her own mother and mother-in-law being so enthusiastic, Avery Graham felt quite speechless. It was supposed to be a honeymoon, and if the elders tagged along, what kind of honeymoon would that be?

"No need, we’ll just go somewhere nearby, I’m a doctor, Avery is a nurse, we know how to take care of ourselves, and you all can rest assured," Bernard Taylor directly refused.
