Chapter 1071: 027 Pampering Wife Epilogue (Final Chapter)_2

"You’re a surgeon, not an obstetrician and gynecologist," Nancy Sallow screamed. After all, each doctor specializes in different fields.

"..." Bernard Taylor didn’t say a word, wrapping his arm around Avery Graham’s waist and heading straight for their car. They got in, and Bernard immediately drove off.

Nancy Sallow just watched as her son took his wife and grandson away. Mrs. Graham was stunned for a moment, but she soon had a realization—this son-in-law truly cared for her daughter.

"Dear, I’m so sorry, you see, that’s just how Bernard is. His father and I might have spoiled him a bit," Nancy Sallow apologized sincerely to Mrs. Graham.

"It’s okay. Let them go. Bernard is right. They’re both medical professionals, a doctor and a nurse; they understand the basics. We don’t have to worry too much," Mrs. Graham consoled Nancy Sallow, knowing she was just looking out for Avery.

"Ah, they always say the first three months are the most unstable," Nancy Sallow shook her head and sighed. She was worried that although Bernard was a doctor, he was, after all, a man, and men aren’t as meticulous as women.

But, Mrs. Graham did make a good point.

"Enough with the nonsense. The doctor just said Avery is healthy, her checkup results are all normal. There’s nothing to worry about," Jacob Taylor retorted, staring at Nancy Sallow. Can’t she watch what she says?

"Exactly, exactly. Our Avery is in great health. They are newlyweds, not taking a trip wouldn’t quite fit the young people’s way of thinking. Let it be. It’s just a few days and they will be back," Mr. Graham also joined in the persuasion.

In the end, Nancy Sallow had nothing left to say; no one was on her side.

At that moment, she knew when it came to wives and daughters-in-law, her son would definitely side with his wife. She wasn’t trying to compete for affection; she just wanted to be closer to her grandson.

Avery sat in the passenger seat, smiling all the while. Bernard let her smile for a while, but seeing that she couldn’t stop, he frowned, "What’s so funny?"

"Nothing, just thinking, ’Hubby, you were so manly just now.’ I feel like I really made the right choice in marrying you," Avery felt a strong sense of happiness.

"!" Bernard frowned. What was she talking about? Did he not seem "manly" to her before?

The two went back home first. Bernard wouldn’t let Avery help; he quickly packed two suitcases and came out of the room, "Let’s not join a tour group. We’ll drive there ourselves. Anytime you feel tired, we can stop and rest, okay?"

"Okay, but where are we going? Did you think of any place in particular?" Avery honestly didn’t have high expectations for the honeymoon trip. She just didn’t want to stay home to avoid having both mothers dropping by all the time.

That would truly be a bit too much for her.

"I think, no matter where we go, as long as I’m with you, it’s a honeymoon anywhere," Bernard suddenly leaned in close to Avery, whispering sweet nothings in her ear.

"..." Bernard’s warm breath on her face made Avery’s cheeks flush; his sudden proximity was hard for her to adjust to at that moment.

"Let’s go. The Hawkins Family just opened a new farmhouse in the Tourist Area; let’s go and have a feel of it," Bernard suggested with a smile.

"Okay," Avery nodded.

Bernard held his wife’s hand.

At that moment, Avery felt that knowing she was pregnant before the honeymoon was actually better than finding out during it. At least there was no rush to get back home.

Thinking about the baby growing inside her, a merger of her and Bernard, Avery felt truly blessed by fate.

However, after returning from the honeymoon, Avery hadn’t anticipated her reaction to be so severe. On the last day of the honeymoon, she felt the urge to vomit incessantly in the car. She tried everything from preserved plums to lemons, yet Avery still felt horribly nauseous.

After struggling home, Avery looked extremely pale.

Bernard made her some Sour Plum Soup, but it was no use.

Avery’s morning sickness scared Bernard; after trying everything, he had no choice but to call Nancy Sallow and Mrs. Graham. Unfortunately, none of the old remedies they tried could stop Avery’s nausea.

Avery couldn’t eat anything, her reaction was so severe that even drinking water irritated her. In the end, they had to resort to administering nutrient fluids.
