Chapter 1051: 025 In-laws meet, agree on a wedding date_4

This cousin of mine really has some nerve, to dare argue with people before he’s even brought a wife home— isn’t he afraid he won’t be able to get married?

"You’re too nosy, that’s enough, leave if there’s nothing else," Bernard Taylor said impatiently, shooing the person away, "I need to leave early this afternoon."

"You’ve been leaving early quite often recently," Adam Taylor mentioned with some dissatisfaction, but although he was dissatisfied, what could he do since Bernard was still single? Bernard’s father had already given him a stern talking-to.

"You’re the one who talks too much. If you’re not satisfied, go impeach me with my dad then," Bernard said nonchalantly.

"..." Adam simply turned around and left.

By the time Avery Graham fully came to her senses, Adam was already gone. Avery still couldn’t quite believe that she was off the hook for the one million, "So, I really don’t have to pay the money anymore?"

"..." Bernard was somewhat speechless, wondering what she had been fretting over all this time—so it was about the compensation money, "Yeah, it’s not necessary anymore, rest easy."

"Oh. ... Hey, where am I?" Avery, coming to her senses, realized she was somewhere she had never been before.

"My office room. If you’re tired, you can take a nap inside, I’ve still got some things to handle. Once I’m done, we can head back," Bernard said, and so, the disagreement that had erupted in the restaurant was now over just like that.

"Mhm." Avery nodded. Bernard had helped her with a big trouble, and Avery was no longer angry.

Bernard accompanied her to the resting area to lie down, and as Avery lay down, she said, "I threw out that medicine. I didn’t take it."

"Alright, good. We’ll just let nature take its course, and if a child comes along, we’ll register at the Civil Affairs Bureau and have the wedding at the same time. My mom said she’s arranging a dinner with Auntie and uncle tomorrow. If you don’t care about auspicious days, we can just pick any day to get the certificate, okay?"

In fact, being people with higher education, they didn’t really care much about feng shui.

Avery’s comments, however, served as a reminder to him. He had not given Avery anything and was already asking her to have a child, which was indeed a lack of respect for her.

Although he had made up his mind about her, that she was the one he would marry in this lifetime, Avery was still a woman. How women thought was not something men completely understood.

So, the argument that should not have occurred in the first place was all attributed to his own fault by Bernard.

The two of them reconciled just like that, not many hours had passed.

That night, Bernard went to the Pharmacy and bought condoms to bring back. His explanation was, "No matter what it is, don’t take any medicine, it’s bad for your health. From now on, leave the contraception to me."

Avery gave a pursed-lip smile, then took the initiative to wrap her arms around Bernard’s neck, leaning in.

The second night, they had a sweet and happy night together.

Nancy Sallow and Jacob Taylor booked a private room at the Hawkins Family’s hotel, calling Avery’s father and mother to sit down and discuss their children’s wedding.

"Family, we picked a good day for the kids to get their marriage license, but then the system at the Civil Affairs Bureau crashed, playing a big joke on us, and the next good date isn’t until mid-May. So, we were thinking, get the certificate the day before, and the wedding the following day, as there are two consecutive auspicious days suitable for marriage. What do you think?" Nancy explained, knowing that the couple didn’t get their certificate that day and that Bernard had "consumed" Avery. As a mother, she was happy but also felt the need to explain things to her in-laws, hence the meeting was arranged here.

Although the coming month didn’t have many good days, preparing for the wedding shouldn’t be an issue.

"That’s fine, I have no objections, we’ll go by whatever you decide," Avery’s mother was very easy-going. Before coming, she had thought that the Taylor Family might be difficult to talk to, but after meeting them, she realized that Bernard’s parents were quite nice people.

"That’s not the way to put it, family. This is a big matter for both our kids. If you have any opinions or ideas, just let us know. We’ll handle the arrangements, but it is important that you are satisfied. So don’t be polite with us, okay?" Nancy was sincerely amicable at this point.

Especially since she knew that Avery didn’t use contraception during her fertile period, that’s why she moved up the wedding to next month. Otherwise, she would have definitely wanted to prepare properly, setting aside two to three months for it.
