Chapter 1044: 024 Unlicensed Driving_4

I’m really looking forward to seeing Bryan Hawkins’s expression when he realizes his little treasure is a little prince, not a little princess. I bet it’ll be just like he swallowed poop, right?

"Of course, it could also be a daughter, after all, I haven’t craved sour foods throughout the pregnancy." There’s an old saying ’sour for boys, spicy for girls,’ and I like sweets, so it stands to reason that a girl would also like sweets.

"Who cares what it is, I know that whether it’s a son or a daughter, you’ll love them dearly. Megan Clifton’s little one is half a year old now, right?" Avery Graham thought about Megan Clifton and realized she hadn’t found the time to visit.

"Not yet, time isn’t flying by as fast as you think. By the time May Day comes around, it won’t even be five months." Carolline Ruiz glared at her. Megan Clifton had her baby around Chinese New Year, so the baby should be almost four months old now.

"Oh, I feel like it’s been such a long time since I last saw you two. Celia Wade is far away, so it can’t be helped, but I’m so close and still haven’t found the time to come over. Look at your belly, it’s really showing now." Avery nodded; she seemed to have been quite busy recently, but she heard that even Celia, who’s in Kyoto, had managed to make time to visit.

"You’ve been busy dating Bernard Taylor and opening a new branch. We understand. Also, I think you should stop using contraception now. Go ahead and get pregnant. It’s also nice to have a wedding while showing. We’ve already got the marriage certificate; having or not having a wedding ceremony is just a formality. Celia is already pregnant; you and Bernard should hurry up and join the main troop. I’m already on my second child," said Carolline without feeling the slightest bit of embarrassment or shyness.

On the contrary, it made Avery blush. Carolline had really changed a lot. "Do you dare to have a third child?" she challenged.

"I haven’t even had this second one yet, and you’re talking about a third?" Carolline glanced at her. "You haven’t even had your first. If I go for a third, won’t you guys freak out on me?"

Carolline knew that Madelyn Lincoln felt a lot of pressure after her own second pregnancy. Sophia Lawson mentioned the prospect of a second child to Sophie Carlson every day. Sophie had boy-girl twins, achieving two at once, so whether to have a second child wasn’t that important.

However, it seemed Sophia’s thinking differed from the rest. Anyway, Carolline felt embarrassed staying at the Hawkins Family home. Fortunately, Grandma understood her feelings and let her and Bryan go back to their own villa. She even arranged two chefs who were particularly good at making Maternity Meals to take care of her daily meals.

Although she was often home alone, Bryan hadn’t restricted her activities. Sometimes she would even drop Axel off; she had her own driver and carer, both personally appointed by Bryan, whom he really trusted.

Bryan spent a lot of time with her too. Normally he would go to work at nine, but since she got pregnant, Bryan would only leave for the company after ten in the morning and return before five in the afternoon.

She knew Bryan was starting to rely on William Hawkins and Camelia Hawkins as well. With William’s help, it was normal for the eldest sibling to slack off a bit. This was Bryan’s own justification.

He said he had been running the Hawkins Family business alone for so long, that it was time for his brother and sister to start contributing their efforts. He felt it was only right for him to take more time to care for his pregnant wife.

And this arrogant excuse for dodging work was wholeheartedly approved by Grandma.

Left with no choice, William had to step up and bear the burden during this special time.

"Makes sense," Avery scratched her head. If Carolline hadn’t reminded her about contraception, she would have almost forgotten. When she went out later, she’d have to remember to stop by the Pharmacy.

Though having a baby before marriage is a common occurrence among young people nowadays, and not something shameful, she didn’t want that. She still wished to be a beautiful bride. Carolline and Celia had both had their chance to shine, and she certainly didn’t want to get married with a huge belly.

No need to look, just imagining it made her aware of how unattractive that scene would be.

"Stay for lunch, eat a Maternity Meal with me." Carolline checked the time; it was almost 11:30, and she always had her meals on time at 11:30.

"I’ve never had a Maternity Meal before; I guess I’ll stay and give it a try," said Avery, ever the curious one, willing to try things she hadn’t eaten before.

"..." Carolline pursed her lips and said nothing, waiting for Avery to lose her current interest after trying the meal. Of course, she wouldn’t say this out loud; as best friends, they were supposed to share good and tough times together, especially since she ate it every day, "By the way, when did you and Bernard get your certificate? Why didn’t you invite us all out for a get-together? You should know, Megan has been clamoring for a dinner party all the time. Mia is out on business trips, Celia is pregnant and probably won’t be around much, and now it’s just the three of us. We’re all waiting on you and Bernard to come up with an excuse for a gathering."
