Chapter 1011: 019 She is Violet Orson_6

She really didn’t know why they were so happy that she had chosen Bernard Taylor as her boyfriend. Weren’t they just excited for a free dinner? Later, her shop assistant explained that they thought it meant having two bosses to serve in the future. But as it turned out, there was still only one boss—her.

Because the male boss would definitely listen to the female boss. Avery was speechless upon hearing such an absurd explanation.

Just as they arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, a waiter came up to greet them. The Grand Hall was very clean, and Avery decided to eat there rather than in a private room.

Bernard, too, went along with her wishes.

The two ordered their meals and sat there, chatting away lightly. This really felt nice. Bernard’s face beamed with happiness, and his eyes didn’t want to leave Avery even for a second.

"What’s so good-looking about me?" Avery eventually felt embarrassed under Bernard’s gaze and lowered her head to avoid his eyes.

"Everything is lovely, really," Bernard said with a smile. He didn’t know that love between them could feel this way; he wished they could be together all the time, gazing at each other every moment they met,

No wonder Bryan Hawkins and others, once they fell in love, willingly became slaves to their wives.

He thought he’d definitely become a slave to his wife in the future too.

Avery blushed with shyness at Bernard’s sweet nothings, lowering her head so he couldn’t see her reddened face. Bernard merely smiled at her indulgently.

In this peaceful moment, a sharp female voice suddenly erupted, "Michael Auclair, stop right there. I’m carrying your child. You may not want me, but what about the child? Are you planning to abandon it, too?"

Hearing the familiar name, they looked in the direction of the voice and saw Michael Auclair standing up, preparing to leave, and Adelle Turner chasing after him with a visibly protruding belly.

Michael Auclair couldn’t believe that he was seeing Avery here, and moreover, that his failed negotiation with Adelle was being overheard—and seen—by Avery.

A month ago, Adelle had sought him out to say she was pregnant with his child. He didn’t believe her until she showed him the pregnancy test report, and only then did he realize that she had secretly carried his child.

He had reminded her to take contraception after their encounter, but she still got pregnant. It was plainly a premeditated move. So why should he take responsibility?

At this moment, he never imagined his painful situation could get any worse. Seeing Avery with Bernard was already tough enough, and now Avery had to witness such a despicable affair.

He was not like Adelle. She could use the child to blackmail him, but he couldn’t accept the child as calmly as she did.

Adelle also saw Avery, walking quickly towards her. Avery noticed even more clearly the swell of Adelle’s belly, and when Adelle realized Avery’s focus, she deliberately stuck her stomach out a little more.

Avery truly found Adelle’s actions ridiculous at this point. If she still cared about Michael, then what right did she have to sit here and negotiate with him?

In this society, if she had to compare shamelessness, Avery Graham would definitely not be outdone. She could take advantage of Michael’s affection for her and just keep occupying his attention, leaving other women to do whatever they wanted.

Avery retracted her gaze as Bernard looked at her. She responded with a smile and calmness, "Let’s eat."

"Yeah, try the Beggar’s Pork Ribs—you liked it, didn’t you? See how they taste," Bernard nodded as he placed a rib into Avery’s bowl.

Avery bit into it and the rich flavor filled her mouth. She nodded satisfyingly, "Mmm, it’s good."

Michael watched the two of them and then turned and walked away. Adelle hurriedly followed him. The surrounding people watched as the pregnant woman with a slightly protruding belly chased after the man ahead of her, touching her belly as she ran.

Avery, watching Adelle, couldn’t help but feel this woman was quite pitiful.

"She’s getting what she deserves. That man is simply beyond her control," Bernard said, seeming to grasp what she was thinking.

"Maybe, just that once a woman falls into love, she loses her sense and becomes foolish," Avery nodded. After all, she could see that Adelle truly loved him, or she wouldn’t demean herself to chase after Michael given her circumstances.
