Chapter 201: Chapter 201 – Fatal Attack!_1 Chapter 201: Chapter 201 – Fatal Attack!_1 “Eat, eat, eat! Stinking fish, dare to charm me, I’ll just eat you… no, wait, eat my ass, who’s singing?”

Colin suppressed his anger, his gaze sweeping around. He did not see Xia Liufang opening her mouth; she stood there bewildered and silent, while others seemed to be enthralled.

The next moment, he seemed to sense something and turned his head to see a woman’s silhouette with long hair leaning over the windowsill behind the drawn curtains.

Through the curtains that were slightly blown open by the wind, Colin saw the lower half of a gray-skinned, fanged monster’s face.

At this time, from the slightly parting jaws of the monster, a delightful humming could be heard.

How could such a ghastly thing appear outside the eighth-floor window?!

The instant he saw it, Colin’s eyes flickered, and he immediately realized something.

“Damn it! It’s an ambush!”

Colin’s expression darkened, and while the monster had not yet seen him, he casually grabbed a can of beef from the lunchbox beside him and flung it hard at the creature outside the window.

With no attempt at stealth, the can of beef whistled through the air under his full force attack, shattering the glass and smashing directly into its head.

And it was at that moment that three tall figures burst through the windows around the room.

They were uniformly muscular with giant fish-like heads and frog-like hands and feet, resembling some kind of amphibious creature suited for waterways.

“Be careful, it’s an attack!” Xia Liufang, now alert, immediately drew her gun and fired.

Clang, clang, clang!

Sparks flew and a clear sound rang out when the specially made bullets hit them, causing her eyelids to twitch uncontrollably.

“What the hell are these things!”

Wang Hu, lying to the side, hadn’t finished speaking when he looked up in alarm. A fish-headed monster had already reached him, its palm larger than his head swiping towards his skull.

Without a doubt, being grasped would mean certain death.

However, just then, Colin suddenly grabbed his shoulder and pulled him backward, out of the attack range.

The fish-headed monster let out a screech of frustration, ready to continue the chase, but a blade made of translucent energy materialized and slashed at it, driving it back.

“‘Divine Strike’…”

Colin glanced at Xia Liufang, noting the sudden change in her demeanor as she wielded the large sword, exuding an aura of a heroine unfettered by her gender.

Ratatat!

The dense sound of automatic gunfire suddenly erupted; two armed individuals raised their rifles and fired relentlessly at the three monsters.

The more powerful rifle bullets were significantly stronger than the handgun rounds; while still unable to kill, they could tear through the monsters’ mysterious scales. One fish-headed monster, hit through the eye by chance, collapsed and convulsed with a scream.

“Don’t get bogged down in fighting, retreat quickly!”

The ‘Fate Propeller’ among the Extraordinary Ones shouted, helping to take Wang Hu, who Colin had pulled to safety, and then running out.

Everyone was no fool; once they woke from the charm, they immediately realized they were ambushed.

“Hu Zheng, didn’t you say we’d be perfectly safe up here?” Xia Liufang, wielding her large sword, forced back one of the fish-like monsters that tried to charge at them, and couldn’t help but curse quietly.

Compared to before, her temperament had grown much more fiery after using her ability.

“I, I didn’t know, but it’s normal for predictions to occasionally be incorrect…” The ‘Fate Propeller’ called Hu Zheng defended himself.

He truly had a premonition that his side was relatively safe, but for some reason, it was off.

Of course, cursing is one thing, but fortunately, on this building, whether due to the enemy’s negligence or not, there seemed to be only a few—

What they didn’t know was that Colin had used “Force – Repulsive Force” to throw the other Fishmen, who hadn’t yet jumped into the building, right out. Coupled with the cover of gunfire, no one noticed the sound of anything falling from the building.

“These damned things are really hard to detect when they’re lying in wait…”

Colin felt that their ability to hide was almost as good as that of the “Virtue Knight” he had encountered outside the door…

With his covert assistance, everyone barely managed to make it to the ground floor of Building D and saw Qin Chuan and others trying to rush back to defend. Upon hearing the commotion here, they quickly realized that the monsters had lured them away in a classic misdirection ploy.

However, the number of monsters was too great, and they were unable to come back in time…

Just as Colin had reached the ground floor, his expression darkened as he saw twenty or thirty fish-headed creatures wielding black harpoons, encircling the outside.

But for some reason, they weren’t charging as they had before, resulting in a standoff between the two sides.

“It’s over, there’s no escape…” Hu Zheng’s face changed as he felt a sense of despair.

Given the basic physical abilities of these creatures, they could kill them all just by mindlessly rushing in F2A style.

What made him even more uncomfortable was that, even at this moment, his intuition was still signaling “auspicious”…

“Damn it, ‘Fate Propeller’ is such a piece of crap. No wonder no dog would pick it, and the attrition rate is so high…” Finally, he stopped being stubborn and cursed angrily.

He hadn’t expected the supporter from Bonfire Company to take action, as that person seemed merely like a healer, unlikely to be more powerful than him…

“Why aren’t these monsters attacking, it’s strange…”

Colin didn’t understand why, but before he could think further, Xia Liufang suddenly spoke:

“It seems like I’m their target. I can feel it, they all seem to be watching me…”

Her pair of spirited eyes met those covetous gazes without a hint of retreat or fear, “Their goal seems to be to capture women. In a moment, I will activate the ‘Deification’ Status and draw them away. You all should take the chance to escape…”

This was the trump card of the “Divine Strike” pathway: once used, it would allow the “idol” they draw power from to descend briefly.

In doing so, she would achieve the combat power of a Level 6 “Ambassador.”

Of course, there’s a hefty price to pay for doing this. Without the actual strength of an “Ambassador,” even if it didn’t kill her, it was highly likely to cause her to lose control and forget who she really was…

‘Sigh, for the choices you’re making, you won’t die today. Let’s just reveal what’s behind the mask… I’m done hiding…’ Colin silently sighed and reached into his pocket, clutching a revolver.

But at that moment, his expression suddenly changed—

“Deadly Insight” was triggered!

A blurry image surged into his brain: a huge harpoon suddenly thrust out from the wall, impaling him completely on it, and then pinned him against the wall.

Not dying immediately, he “saw” a very large Fishman rushing out from the depths, releasing lightning, killing everyone except for Xia Liufang.

“Fuck, these bastards aren’t attacking now because they’re wary of me? So they shook me down? How did they lock onto me?”

A thought flashed through Colin’s mind, and the hand holding the revolver turned, gripping the corner of a golden card instead.
