Chapter 223: Chapter – 202 – Quite The Challenge
Raihne’s Point Of View
We had finally made it to the new safe house, after a long arduous journey. To ensure the safety of everyone we had to escort, we had changed vehicles and our means of transportation five times.
It was arguably excessive and bordered on the side of paranoia, but no one could argue its necessity. Thankfully, we didn’t encounter any problems along the way, and now everyone was beginning to settle into our new temporary home.
"Brother..."
I turned towards Payhne, as he approached me while carrying his duffel bag in from the van.
"What’s up?" I asked.
"Are you going to be okay?" He asked, looking a bit anxious.
I didn’t need to ask him what he was referring to, I was currently standing near the front door specifically because it was becoming unbearable to be near Sable. Her pheromones would have me by the throat by the morning for sure.
"Who knows? I’ve never been in a situation like this before, so there’s no telling what might happen." I shrugged feigning confidence.
"Where will you sleep?" Payhne asked.
I gave him an exasperated glare. Even if I was feeling anxious about being near Sable, there was no way I could ignore her suffering throughout the night alone. I would no doubt never sleep, and drive myself to madness by overthinking.
"Well then.... Good luck with that." Payhne said dismissively, before walking away.
"Raihne, everything has been unloaded from the vans. Also, everyone has claimed their rooms, and they are currently unpacking and settling in now." Ahriel said from the stairs.
"Good. Split the men split into two groups. Group one will take the night watch, while group two will take the morning shift at 8am." I said.
"Understood." He replied curtly before leaving to carry out his duties.
I let out a heavy sigh, and then headed upstairs myself. I couldn’t deny that I didn’t want to see Sable at the moment. There was no way that her pheromones wouldn’t effect me, but I was worried about how she was holding up.
She had slept fitfully throughout the trip, and I couldn’t help but think that she was still having a hard time. I didn’t need to know which room Sable had chosen, her pheromones were practically leading me to her by the nose.
I stopped in front of the door, and knocked gently. There was no response from the other side, and my nerves began to get the better of me. After what felt like an eternity, the door opened slowly, revealing a weary and slightly pale, Sable.
"I see I was right to be worried. How are you feeling?" I said, as she opened the door wider for me to enter.
"Like shit. I also feel like I should apologize to Tristan and Kaleb. I have no idea how they tolerated this uncomfortable heat so calmly. I want to rip off my skin..." She sighed heavily, and then sat down on the bed.
I didn’t really know what to say to comfort her, there was no way that I could understand exactly what she was going through. I could only muster a half-hearted smile.
"Your birthday is tomorrow... Do you think you can hold out until then?" I asked, taking a seat next to her.
She gave me a sad look, and then looked down at her tightly clenched fists in her lap.
"Even if I could, I really don’t want to..." She murmured.
Her pheromones were slowly turning my brain to mush, and I was trying extremely hard not to salivate beside her. We had spent so much time together now that I had come to adore her completely.
I was more worried that I would hurt her unconsciously, than I was about upsetting her. However, if she asked Mr to comfort her right now, I would do so without question.
"What would you have me do?" I asked.
"Don’t ask me that... I know you will do anything I ask you to..." Sable sighed again.
"I do not want you to be in pain, Sable..." I said, hoping that she would at least tell me what she was thinking.
"You also only know of one way to help me... Furthermore, it would only be temporary, and ultimately pointless since my heat cycle hasn’t officially started yet..." She grumbled.
"True... But if your heat cycle is anything like our Ruts, then there are other ways to alleviate your symptoms." I hinted with a wry smile.
Sable looked up at me with a start, and pinned me with a serious stare. The intensity of her stare, coupled with her overwhelming pheromones, shook me to my core.
"Do whatever you can, then..." She said.
’Ah... I am a total slave to this woman...’

Ezekihel’s Point Of View
"Have you guys finished unpacking yet?" One of the men asked us as he walked into the living room.
"Yes. Its not like we brought much with us anyway." Joobehlee replied.
After we had all finished staking claims to the many vacant rooms in the house, we had all gathered in the living room to unwind. The only people missing were Sable, Raihne, and Delcain.
Joobehlee, Arrisa, Payhne, and Arellany were watching a movie while eating some snacks that Mrs. Kristi had prepared for us. There were 10 men posted around the room to guard us, while the others were stationed everywhere else.
"We notified the others of our safe arrival, and they informed us that you guys should move in groups unless you are going to bed. Please let us know if you need anything. We will assist you at once." Another man said, as he stood along one of the walls.
"Thanks, Jayhlynn. We’ll probably watch a couple movies, then turn in for the night." Payhne replied.
It had taken a long time for me to get used to having so many men surrounding me everyday. Even more so, when Meyhymn wasn’t around. Now that I was back in our home without him, his absence was even more profound.
"Are you going to be okay, Ezekihel?" Arrisa asked, looking at me with open concern.
"I’d be lying if I said yes. I’ve never spent a day without Meyhymn, and we never really had a chance to thoroughly analyze the suppressants that he and Bellamy made for me... I admit that I’m a little nervous..." I said softly.
"Well if they don’t work, or they end up having unbearable side effects, we can always summon Meyhymn. He told me to contact him if such an occasion arose." Payhne said with a gentle smile.
"Th-That’s... good to know..." I murmured.
"Do you want some snacks?" Arellany asked innocently.
He was too young to fully grasp our situation, and yet he never failed to ease everyone’s hearts and spirits.
"Sure, I’d love some." I said picking up a cookie from the offered tray.
I didn’t really have an appetite, but when Arellany offered you anything, you accepted it with a smile. Failing to do so would lead to your inevitable downfall against his adorable, yet forceful nature.
’Like father, like son...’
Arellany was very similar to Bellamy in that regard. He worked tirelessly alongside Meyhymn to find a suitable suppressant for me. The end results of their efforts produced a suppressant that worked entirely different from the normal ones.
A regular suppressant dampened one’s arousal, and made your pheromones less potent. Whereas the ones they had produced, allowed Omegas like myself to calm our pheromones simply by ejaculating. Intercourse was optional. Meaning, the Omegas from the Lore’rahlye facility could choose to masturbate instead of having to secure an Alpha to find release.
Even though we had run many trials with the suppressant, they never completely eradicated the deep seeded need to be entered. After all the laborious trials that they had painstakingly tried, Meyhymn put a hold on tweaking the recipe for the suppressant. I had surmised that the desire for penetration that still lingered after taking the suppressant was impossible to suppressant. I had also grown weary of being a test subject once again.
I didn’t want to give voice to that particular complaint, because I didn’t want to dishearten the duo who had only been trying to help me anyway they could.
"That’s a dark look that you’re sporting, Ezekihel..." Joobehlee said, snapping me from my gloomy reminiscing.
"Oh? Is it? Sorry, I was just thinking about something unpleasant..." I chuckled awkwardly.
"Well, there’s no room for negativity here. Leave that at the door, and come watch the movie with us." Arrisa said, patting the empty seat cushion beside her.
"Yeah, you’re right. We should take advantage of the peaceful time we have together." I said, putting on my best smile.
As hard as it was for me to curb my tumultuous thoughts, I knew that no good would come from me worrying and fretting over things I couldn’t change.
’Come back to me soon, Meyhymn...’
