Chapter 107: Chapter - 107 The Frontal Assault

Waihlynn’s Point Of View

"Just got word that they can’t kill Danhiel. This just went from bad to worse..." Aidehynn said.

"Well our job remains the same though, no? Keep the guards distracted. Allow Tohrque and Tahlburt a chance to slip into the facility, and extract as many Omegas out of Danhiel’s and Rahzden’s hidden exits as possible, right?" I replied.

"You don’t think they’ll need more people?" Aidehynn asked.

More people on the inside wouldn’t hurt, but we couldn’t afford to lose more than two. The facility had more guards than we had anticipated. They had made a blockade of sorts in front of the facility before we had even landed.

"More is always better than less, however that can be said for us as well. We will need all the help we can get. It’s clear that they intended to hold us here for as long as possible..." I sighed as Hollehen landed the Helo.

"We can’t afford to launch an aerial attack, the chances of them shooting down the Helo are much too high." Gustin added.

The situation was anything but good. There were roughly 50 security guards that I counted, and only 12 of us. I wasn’t sure I liked those odds, all things considered.

Zachariah had given our group 5 of his 25 men, plus Aidehynn, Tahlburt, Gustin, Sherion, Tohrque, and Hollehen... we had a solid attack force, but we were out gunned and outnumbered.

"Brother, how do you want to handle this? We don’t have enough for a pincer attack, and I’m not seeing too many vantage points for a sniper to get a good line of sight..." Aidehynn asked.

"If I may be so bold, two of us could head for the mountain and shoot from behind enemy lines, no?" Sherion said.

"Not a bad suggestion, but it would get harder to not hit Friendly’s that way, no?" I asked.

"True... if I shot my rifle, there is a chance it could go through an enemy and into a friendly unintentionally..." Hollehen replied.

"Maybe stay off to the side and watch the door for any reinforcements. That way you could also see what’s coming behind us, if anything..." Gustin said.

"Yes, laying on top of those 18 wheelers should be fine. It will give you a nice overview and keep you low enough that they’d have to blow up their own trucks to get you." Aidehynn agreed.

"Okay... Tohrque and Tahlburt, you find your opening and go free the Omegas. Hollehen and Sherion, you take point atop the trucks. You five and Gustin are with us. You don’t necessarily have to kill them, but they better not still have fight in them once they’re down." I said.

"With all due respect boss, I plan to kill every single fucking one of them." Hollehen replied, with a sinister grin.

He was just like Sylvester, it was almost comical. I couldn’t blame them, from what I heard these asshole had burned Ferdinand’s house down completely.

"Yeah we came here for payback, and to retrieve the children. Anyone who is okay with blowing up a house with children in it, deserves no mercy." Tohrque added.

"Well then, let’s make sure they’ll never attempt the shit again." I said with a smirk.

"Hoo-Rah!" They chorused in unison.

We began our trek to the front doors. My heart was pounding, and my palms were sweating. I couldn’t deny that I was nervous, but the closer we got to the building, the more I worried for my little brother. He wasn’t exactly a fighter, he was more of a diplomatic peace talker.

Yet here he was, on the frontlines, ready for war. I never wanted to put my brothers in a situation like this, so we played nice outwardly to the other Kings. We never chose sides, and we stayed out of the way. It’d be a lie if I said I had regrets about joining the fray, this was definitely a movement we needed to stand in on. However, I did wish there was a more peaceful option, than an all out war.

"Waihlynn, this is Hollehen. I’m in position."

"This is Sherion, I too, am in position."

I heard them acknowledge their readiness over the COMs and looked at Aidehynn. He gave me a smug grin and a wink.

"Let’s begin, boys." I replied.

As soon as the order was given, Hollehen and Sherion shot out all the lights above the guards, shrouding the area in darkness. Then, Tohrque and Tahlburt launched grenade after grenade at the guards standing behind the barricade. The explosions were deafening, and the tremors that rocked the earth made me shudder.

All at once, gunfire and screams began to ring out into the night, while Hollehen and Sherion began to pick off the guards on the ends, in rapid succession.

Aidehynn began to fire with Gustin firing on his left, and I began to fire at his right. All in all, we were making good progress and their numbers were dwindling fast.

Once we were approaching their barricade, Tohrque and Tahlburt launched more grenades, some even hit the doors and glass began to rain down all around the guards.

"Fall into formation! Don’t let a single person through!"

"There are only 10 of them! Kill them all!"

"No mercy!"

The guards began to regroup and fire in earnest. Being as close as we were to the guards now was a double edged sword. We had an easier time picking them off, but it also meant that they too had an easier line of sight.

"Shield your eyes!" I heard Tohrque yell.

Then, a bright flash pierced through the darkness followed by two more. He had thrown flash bang grenades into the crowd of guards.

"This is where we leave you. Good luck brother." Tohrque said, as he and Tahlburt disappeared into the group of guards scurrying about trying to see again.

After a moment of flailing around, the guards stopped trying to shoot, and started to brandish knives. I could see Tohrque and Tahlburt tapping shoulders, and stabbing guards at random, then disappearing again into the fray. It was pretty comical, all things considered.

I decided to seize the opportunity and go all out while the guards were momentarily distracted. I jumped the barricade and began to knock out the guards one at a time. The others decided to finish them off as we went.

We had gotten them down to about an even match in numbers with us, give or take 4 more than us. I was feeling ridiculously satisfied with the way things had gone. Hollehen and Sherion really outdid themselves with the assists.

Suddenly, there was a deep rumbling behind us, and large flood lights lit us up like a stage play. We all immediately moved to the left and right of the barricade to obscure our view from the otherside. Then, Hollehen and Sherion began to shoot out the lights shining on us, and my breath caught in my throat.

"Bad news Waihlynn... they brought tanks, it looks like the N.A.F. is joining the fight... and I don’t think they are on our side..." Sherion said into the COMs.

"Fucking bastards! If that’s the case, then they are the same bastards who helped burn Ferdinand’s home to the ground! That’s the same make and model as the one that blasted holes in the house!" Hollehen growled angrily.

"Any way you boys can–"

"HOLLEHEN MOVE, NOW!" Sherion yelled.

I looked to my left and noticed a tank lining up its sights on the 18-wheeler Hollehen was currently perched on top of. My heart leapt into my throat when the first missile sailed into the side of the truck. Since it was dark, we couldn’t see anything that wasn’t within our immediate range. We waited on bated breath to know if he moved out of the way in time.

"All groups be advised, the N.A.F. has joined the fray. They are not friendly, and multiple tanks have been spotted..." Aidehynn said into our group channel.

"Yeah... hate to be that guy, but you are just a few minutes too late. The are here on the left side, we are under fire. Bennhayzin is inside with Dyahgeo. Nashsten, Azailen, and I are defending the position, but they sealed off the exit by collapsing the tunnel!" I heard Lyukhe yell, while explosions and gunfire sounded off in the distance.

"Tahlburt and I made it inside, but it’s basically no man’s land. They used the Omegas like a blockade... their pheromones are permeating every inch of the air... they are clogging the first floor!" Tohrque yelled.

"We are safely inside. The office door is sealed shut, we are working on a way to open it now." Bennhayzin said.

"Boss... I have bad news. Not only are we caught in a pincer between the sealed office and the N.A.F.... but I can’t get in contact with anyone back at the hotel..." Santiago said, worry seeping into every word.

I glanced over at Aidehynn, and he immediately froze. The only way for the hotel team to become compromised was from an inside attack. The outside was heavily fortified by Zachariah’s men.

"TELL ME YOU’RE FUCKING JOKING!?" Ferdinand’s voice boomed over the COMs.

"You know I’d never joke about any of this, boss." Santiago said, remorsefully.

"Bennhayzin, blow that damn door down and help Ferdinand secure the targets. Tohrque, even if you have to knock them all out, do so and drag them back into their rooms. If they can be reasoned with, take them out through Hastings office. The left, front, and back exits are compromised." I yelled.

Things had gone from bad to worse in a matter of moments and I was absolutely furious. I could only think of one person who would do something as stupid as picking a fight with Ferdinand while he was already at war.

"Fucking Bitches! Eat shit!" I heard Hollehen yell, right before he launched two red blinking somethings, and strapped a rocket launcher atop his shoulder.

"Die now, assholes!" He yelled, before firing a shot as soon as a small white light began to smoke and sparkle.

The closest tank to him blew up in a dramatic fashion and my eyes widened in disbelief.

’These guys are fucking nuts! Haaah... like master, like subordinate, I suppose...’
