In the blink of an eye, days flew by like eagles flying at speed. The day Julie and Roman would officially sign the marriage agreement was approaching.

Julie, someone who valued her space, sat alone in her room, undisturbed, thinking about the drastic changes that would take place in her life after marrying Roman.

Her life would transform from that of Miss Julie Jenkins, from an average family, to Mrs. Thompson, the richest person in D city.

Without her knowledge, Roman was not only the richest person in the city but also the king of the business world, a person everyone feared.

Like the rest of the days, Roman had disappeared after the doctor left, and Julie had been alone for a few days.

She knew he had left before she woke up and sighed.

"Did you miss him so much?" a voice asked in her head. Julie answered aloud, thanking God she was alone in the room.

"Yes, though we don’t even talk, but I miss him. I miss him so much, and I don’t know why he’s harsh sometimes yet soft-hearted sometimes. I wonder whether he has a personality mental disorder," she said to herself, gazing at the wardrobe.

"Knock, knock," there was a knock on the door, and Julie quickly said yes for the person to come in.

"Ah, Lily, come in," Julie said from where she was sitting. "Ma’am, here is the tea and biscuits," Lily said politely, still standing with the tray, unsure where to put it.

"Keep it on the table, Lily," Julie said, gesturing to the table. Lily flowed behind Julie and set the tray down.

"Ma’am, do you need anything else?" Lily asked. "No, I don’t need anything. This is enough, and I’m good. You can carry on with whatever you’re doing," Julie said, watching as Lily fidgeted with her fingers and still stood in front of Julie, now sweating.

Julie sipped her tea, her eyes meeting Lily’s as she noticed the girl’s unusual distress.

Lily’s face was flushed, and she was sweating despite the air-conditioned room.

Before Julie could ask what was wrong, Lily suddenly found herself pulled down to sit beside Julie on the plush couch.

"What’s wrong, Lily?" Julie asked, her voice soft with concern. Lily cast her head down, her eyes welling up with tears.

Julie’s expression softened as she caught a glimpse of the tears streaming down Lily’s cheeks.

"Oh my, what’s happening? What’s wrong?" Julie asked, her tone gentle, trying to ease the situation.

A minute passed without Lily speaking, and Julie’s concern deepened. "Lily, don’t you trust me enough to tell me?" she asked, not wanting to pry but sensing something was seriously wrong.

Lily’s quiet demeanor was unnerving, and Julie’s mind raced with possibilities.

"I want to go home, ma’am. My mother is sick, and I should be by her side, not leave her alone," Lily said, her voice cracking as tears flowed freely.

"But I don’t know how to ask for leave, and I have no idea if Sir will allow me to go back or not."

Julie’s heart went out to Lily, remembering times when she felt similarly trapped, though for different reasons.

She smiled sympathetically, recalling her own struggles with family hatred, while Lily’s situation was rooted in love and concern for her mother.

"It’s okay, don’t cry. Calm down," Julie said, slowly picking up tissues from the table and handing them to Lily. "Wipe those tears and go pack your things. You can go visit your mother."

Lily’s eyes lit up, hope and gratitude shining through her tears.

"Are you serious, ma’am?" she asked, her voice filled with skepticism and longing.

"I’m more than serious. Go and wash your face," Julie said, smiling warmly at Lily.

Lily’s face transformed into a bright smile, and she thanked Julie profusely.

"Thank you, ma’am. Thank you so much. I wish you all the best with Master."

Julie’s curiosity was piqued by Lily’s comment. "What do you mean by ’with Master’?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lily’s expression turned sheepish, her eyes darting around the room as if searching for an escape.

"I’m sorry, ma’am," Lily said softly. "Yesterday, I accidentally overheard what you two were talking about."

Julie’s interest was piqued, her mind racing with possibilities. "Is that all you heard, or did you hear something more?" she asked, her voice measured.

Lily shook her head vigorously, her ponytail swishing behind her. "No, I just heard it accidentally and then I fled away. I know I shouldn’t have overheard what the two of you were discussing." Hearing Lily’s assurance, Julie felt a wave of relief wash over her.

"Thank God," Julie murmured softly. "Okay, carry on and stop thanking me, or you’ll be late."

With a final thank you, Lily hurried out of the room, her suitcase packed in record time.

She bid Julie a tearful goodbye before heading out of the house, leaving Julie to ponder the complexities of life and the bonds that connected people.

As Julie watched Lily leave, she felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing she had made a difference in someone’s life.

Her soft heart had always been a defining trait, and being with Lily for some time had only deepened her empathy for others.

MEANWHILE IN RJ Co-operation

In the CEO’s office room, the atmosphere was one of luxury and power.

Dark, polished wood paneling adorned the walls, and a sleek, black marble floor gleamed under the soft glow of recessed lighting.

The room was dominated by a massive, mahogany desk, behind which Roman, the CEO, sat with his legs crossed, exuding an aura of confidence and authority.

The desk itself was a work of art, with intricate carvings and a smooth, glass-like finish.

Roman’s fingers drummed a slow rhythm on the armrest as he gazed out the floor-to-ceiling windows that stretched from wall to wall, offering a breathtaking view of the city.

D city’s skyline stretched out before him, a twinkling canvas of lights and steel, with towering skyscrapers and bustling streets far below.

The view was nothing short of spectacular, and Roman’s gaze lingered on the horizon, his eyes narrowed in thought.

Behind him, a leather-bound bookshelf lined the wall, filled with tomes on business, economics, and strategy.

A crystal decanter sat on a nearby side table, filled with amber liquid, casting a warm glow in the dim light.

The air was thick with the scent of leather and a hint of cigar smoke, a subtle reminder of Roman’s reputation as a shrewd and formidable businessman.

As he sat there, Roman exuded an aura of quiet power, his presence commanding attention and respect.

Roman’s mind wandered back to the previous night, his thoughts consumed by Julie.

He recalled the way she smiled, the way her eyes sparkled in the light.

Roman’s fingers drummed a faster rhythm on the armrest, his mind racing with possibilities.

Some minutes back, Roman had been sitting behind his desk, elegantly dressed, with files open in front of him.

He kept sighing, unable to focus on the task at hand, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Julie.

Everything replayed in his mind, flowing in and out, and he couldn’t stop it. Slowly, he pushed the files forward and closed his eyes in frustration.

Taking a deep breath, Roman turned his chair to face the beautiful view of the city, raising his head upward to rest on the headrest with his eyes still closed.

Despite taking deep breaths, Roman couldn’t get the thought of Julie out of his mind.

"Let’s go," Roman carefully and softly whispered, but Julie’s image lingered, her hand still holding his neck as if she would fall into darkness if she let go.

Roman tried hard, but Julie’s face remained etched in his mind.

"Oh God, what I’m stuck in," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

As the minutes passed, Roman’s eyes began to wander, and what he wondered about was none other than Julie’s face.

Slowly, his eyes looked at her closed eyes, then her nose, and finally her lips, which were slightly parted as she slept.

Roman’s eyes lingered on her lips for a while, his mind racing with questions.

Roman’s gaze drifted over Julie’s features, starting with her closed eyes, then her nose, and finally her lips, which were slightly parted as she slept.

His eyes lingered on her lips for a moment, and he couldn’t help but wonder, "What am I doing looking at her lips?"

Just as Roman was about to tear his gaze away, Julie’s tongue darted out to moisten her lips, catching him off guard.

He felt a sudden urge to kiss her, but before he could act, Julie turned and pulled him close, clinging to him like a pillow.

Roman was taken aback, but he fell onto the bed, beside her with a soft thud.

Despite being caught off guard, Roman didn’t move or try to get up, too tired to resist. Instead, he lay there, his face inches from Julie’s, his eyes wide open as he gazed at her.

She held him tightly, and Roman could feel her heartbeat synchronized with his own.

"No, it can’t be," Roman whispered to himself. "It must be because she’s pitiful," he reassured himself, trying to shake off the unexpected feelings that had surfaced
