Roman and Julienne's heart desire
Chapter 21: Marriage Registry

Chapter 21: Marriage Registry

Elegantly and confidently standing with his back straight and relaxed shoulders, head high and his perfect jawline prominent, Roman walked out of his office room, his eyes straight looking ahead.

His presence commanded respect, and as he walked to his private elevator, every employee came to attention, bowing in greetings. Roman nodded to some that were lucky, as the CEO didn’t always answer people’s greetings. His nod was a rare privilege, and those who received it felt acknowledged.

Just as he approached the elevator, his two guards, who stood rigidly beside the elevator, straightened themselves, their eyes fixed on him. One guard punched the open button, and immediately the elevator doors slid open.

Roman was quick to enter without waiting, his movements fluid and purposeful. The guards followed suit, standing behind him, straight and alert, not daring to breathe too much in his presence or disturb his peace.

The elevator ride was smooth and silent, and before long, the "ding" announced their arrival in the parking lot. Roman walked to his car with the guards following behind him, their footsteps echoing softly.

"Good day, sir," the driver, Enoch, said with a bow as he hurriedly opened the door. "Good day, Enoch," Roman greeted back, his voice deep and smooth, and got into the car while the other guards that are waiting stand straight and wait for their boss to settle in before they get in and follow suit .

The car’s interior was sleek and luxurious, with soft leather seats and polished wood trim. Roman settled in, his eyes fixed on some point ahead, his mind focused on the day’s agenda.

The guards took their positions, one joining Enoch up front, and the rest getting in the cars behind. The engine purred to life, and the vehicle moved off with silky smoothness, navigating through the parking lot with precision.

As Roman settled into the car, the scent of polished leather and the soft hum of the engine enveloped him, a familiar comfort. The guards’ silence was a testament to their professionalism, their presence reassuring without being intrusive. Outside, the city bustled, a distant backdrop to Roman’s private world within the car.

The drive was uneventful, the car’s advanced navigation system guiding them through the traffic with ease. Roman’s eyes occasionally flicked to the screen displaying his schedule for the day, his mind processing the meetings and decisions ahead.

"We are going back to the north mansion," Roman said, his voice smooth as he sat elegantly in the back seat.

Upon arriving at the mansion, Roman entered just in time to meet Julie, who was returning to her room after seeing Lily off.

"We’re going out," he said abruptly, his piercing gaze meeting hers as she turned around. Julie’s eyes widened, and she thought to herself, "Why on earth won’t he announce his presence?" Her eyes locked onto his, and she asked, "Oh, to where?"

Before she could say more, Roman walked past her, saying, "You’ll know when we get there. But we’re going to the marriage registry." He ascended the stairs without waiting for her response. Julie murmured, "Ok," though Roman was already out of earshot.

After a few minutes, Julie emerged from her room to find Roman waiting in the living room. "I’m ready," she said as she approached. "Let’s head out then," he replied, turning to walk out without waiting for her.

Julie slowly got into the car, where one of the guards had opened the door for her. She slid into the back seat beside Roman, who sat calmly, his eyes fixed ahead. Enoch, the driver, caught the scene and blinked in surprise. "Who is she, that Roman would let her sit beside him in the back seat?" he wondered, quickly composing himself and starting the engine.

Roman’s voice broke the silence, "Enoch, what are you looking at? Drive." His tone was not stern, but Enoch nodded hastily. "Okay, okay, sir." As they left the mansion, Enoch drove to their destination, which Roman had specified before they departed.

During the ride, Julie fidgeted nervously, shifting in her seat and tapping her feet slowly. Roman suddenly asked, "Are you in a hurry?" Julie’s actions ceased, and she thought to herself, "I’m in a hurry to escape your intimidating presence." She turned her face toward him, shaking her head.

"No, I’m not in a hurry at all," Julie said, turning her face to look out the window. Uneasy with his presence and the feeling of being observed, Julie didn’t dare to move, but she could sense Roman’s eyes on her as she gazed out the window.

Roman looked at her with a raised brow, thinking to himself, "Can’t she wait to sign the papers? She’s tapping her fingers impatiently."

Arriving in front of the Sweetheart Beauty Salon, Enoch quickly parked the car and got out to open the door for his master. "Thank you, Enoch," Roman said, his voice smooth as he exited the vehicle.

Seeing that the car had stopped and Roman was getting out, Julie hurriedly opened the car door and followed behind him.

As she raised her head to look at their surroundings, she was stunned, and her mouth dropped. The grand beauty salon stood majestically, its regal façade a masterclass in opulent design.

Towering columns, adorned with intricate carvings, supported the imposing structure, while gleaming gold accents danced across the exterior, catching the light and sending shivers of luxury down the spines of passersby.

A sweeping driveway, lined with perfectly manicured hedges and lush greenery, led to the salon’s grand entrance, where a gleaming glass door adorned with a golden crest beckoned clients to enter.

Above, a majestic dome rose, its crystal panes refracting light into a kaleidoscope of colors that seemed to shift and shimmer in the breeze.

This was a place where royalty and celebrities came to indulge their senses, where every detail was crafted to create an experience that was nothing short of sublime.

The very air seemed to vibrate with luxury, and those who entered were transported to a world of beauty, tranquility, and unparalleled indulgence.

"Oh God, this is beautiful," Julie exclaimed, her eyes taking in the stunning salon. She read the name aloud, loud enough for Roman, who was looking at her with a small smile, to hear her.

"Beauty and Heaven Salon – yeah, it indeed didn’t let its name down," Julie said, looking astonished at the building.

"Are you done admiring the building? Can we now go in?" Roman asked from the side, his voice soft enough to melt someone’s heart. Julie turned to him, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Sorry, I have stood you up," she said without realizing she had spoken her thoughts aloud.

Both Roman and Enoch heard her words loud and clear. Enoch, who was standing by the car, watched as the two of them walked into the salon with a smile on his face. He slowly nodded his head, then another, and then he started nodding vigorously.

"It has been long, and now suddenly he’s with a woman. I know, and I feel he’s really serious. What brings the sudden change?" Enoch asked himself, smiling as he watched them disappear into the salon.

As Enoch watched Roman and Julie walk into the salon together, he couldn’t help but think about the changes he’d seen in his employer. Roman’s tough exterior had softened slightly towards Julie, and Enoch had noticed a hint of a smile on his face.

Enoch’s mind wandered back to the past, recalling the Roman who had cried in his arms and telling him about how much he feel pain in his heart, and that pain no one cussed it but Anastasia.

The heartbreak and sense of loss had been evident in Roman’s eyes, and Enoch had worried about his well-being.

But it wasn’t just the breakup that had affected Roman. The loss of his parents in a car accident had been a devastating blow, one that had left Roman shaken and withdrawn. Enoch had seen the pain in his eyes, the sense of loss and grief that had lingered for a long time.

Now, as Enoch watched Roman and Julie interact, he wondered if this her presence might be the key to Roman’s happiness. Maybe Julie would be the one to help Roman heal, to bring light back into his life.

Enoch smiled to himself, feeling a sense of hope. He’d been loyal to Roman for years, and he’d do anything to see him happy. As he watched them disappear into the salon, Enoch couldn’t help but feel a sense of optimism about the future.

As they entered the salon, Julie’s eyes widened in amazement at the opulent interior. The reception area was lavishly decorated, with plush couches and chairs, and a stunning chandelier hung from the ceiling. The walls were adorned with artwork, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers.

Roman walked confidently toward the reception desk, where a beautiful woman greeted him with a warm smile. "Welcome, Mr. Roman.
