While she went to ask one of the households, Elijah whispered to Sean Knight:

"Boss, what are we looking for?"

If we get out of the car and stay visible, those people might be simple-minded, but if they have ill intent, they’d think twice."

Sean Knight and Elijah got out of the car and were surprised by the flat expanse in front of them.

It did look like traces of a debris flow from the topographical evidence, with silt and rocks spewed from the gorge flattening it completely.

The terrain here was somewhat higher than the rest, which didn’t quite match the features of the gorge.
