Chapter 907: 514 Chapter Adventurous Sneak In_2
Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington exchanged glances, not expecting such a connection.
"Are you guys leaving?" the girl asked again when she saw Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington not speaking.
"Yes, I suggest you better close the shop too; it’s too chaotic here." Sean Knight advised, then laid down a stack of US Dollar bills and left the place with Lincoln Harrington.
The girl did not refuse the cash, but her gaze lingered on the retreating figures of Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington, seemingly lost in thought.
"Boss, we can’t just leave like this; we need to find a place to stay first, and act at night," Lincoln Harrington suggested, noting that the street had become quieter due to the recent incident, and they were becoming more noticeable.
"Good!"
Opening his Sky Eye, Sean Knight looked around and quickly found a closed shop, saying:
"This is the place."
The shop sold Hardware Material Tools, the door was locked, and there was a layer of ash on it.
According to the information from Sky Eye, the inside of the shop was similarly dusty, with a thick layer on the ground and shelves, clearly indicating that the boss hadn’t been back for a long time.
Lincoln Harrington approached the Entrance and fiddled with some iron wire for a while; he unlocked the door, and the two of them quickly slipped inside.
Once inside the shop, they found some items to block the door and headed to the back room.
The curtains of the shop were drawn, obscuring the view from outside.
The two settled in the back room’s resting area, cleaned up a bit, and started to prepare their Food.
"Boss, how are we going to get the items out after we find them?" Lincoln Harrington asked while fiddling with Self-heating Food, "An airplane definitely won’t be able to come here, all those items..."
"I have a channel," said Sean Knight, "no need to make it so complicated. Right now, what we need to do is locate those items."
In fact, Lester Francis had already clearly informed Sean Knight of the Location of the items.
But after all, this was not a peaceful place. Searching for items in such a city could lead to trouble if they encountered either the short-sighted or those in uniform.
The two ate something simple and then took turns resting.
There were occasional noises outside, but none seemed to affect their location.
There was a lot of garbage outside the shop, and since it contained hardware materials with little use to Ordinary people, no one came by.
Night fell. Pedestrians on the road became even more scarce, and although vehicles passed by from time to time, they were all moving quickly.
The lack of street lamps in the area surprised Sean Knight.
Carrying their backpacks, the two left the shop and proceeded in the predetermined direction.
As an ex-Special Forces Soldier, navigating with a Map was one of Lincoln Harrington’s basic skills; Sean Knight simply had to follow him.
Their movements were swift; whenever vehicles approached, they pressed against the wall or ducked into alleys, waiting for the car to pass before advancing again.
Along the way, they encountered a few groups of people carrying big bags and packages, but both sides simply brushed past each other without any interaction.
Those people regarded Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington as doing the same thing as themselves.
The pair continued, soon arriving in the Wealthy District.
This area had street lamps, and occasionally there were Police Cars on patrol.
The two became even more cautious in their movement.
The Wealthy District was relatively more tranquil compared to the Civilian Area.
Sean Knight was puzzled as to why The area was even quieter than the Civilian Area when logically, the wealthy should be more anxious than the common people.
As soon as this thought arose, he saw a convoy of six vehicles emerge rapidly from a darkened Villa District, heading quickly towards the city’s exits.
Well, Sean Knight realized he had been too hasty.
How could he possibly overestimate the likelihood that the residents of the Wealthy District would share the city’s fate?
"Boss, this family seems pretty rich!" Lincoln Harrington whispered, "Look at the car at the back; it’s packed..."
With Sky Eye, Sean Knight saw the cars were filled with people, Weapons, as well as Tickets and Certificates, Clothes, Luxury Bags, Jewelry and Gems, and Cash. Indeed, they were very wealthy.
However, this had nothing to do with him, and he had no intention of turning bandit.
At the moment, completing the mission was more important.
The two continued on their way—in the middle of it, Sean Knight had considered grabbing a car, but the sporadic patrols of Police Cars made him discard the idea.
Although the city showed signs of disorder, the basic order was still intact, so any such attempt would likely lead to Trouble.
Besides, Sean Knight’s moral standards were not that low.
Finally, after much winding and turning, they arrived at their target Location.
This was a Manor converted into a Private Museum.
The Museum’s master entrusted Lester Francis with the full authority to handle the cultural relics inside.
Sean Knight had seen the Authorization Letter when he was with Lester Francis.
The Sky Eye had confirmed that the Authorization Letter was authentic.
The master of the Museum had given up hope on this place and did not wish to return, hence the departure.
Yet not wanting these artifacts to simply vanish, he then entrusted Lester Francis to deal with them.
Lester Francis had thought of various methods before turning to Sean Knight.
The Manor wasn’t especially large, but Sean Knight’s first thought wasn’t to immediately enter.
"Let’s circle around first and observe," Sean Knight advised Lincoln Harrington, "Understand the exterior situation before anything else."
"OK, boss, I suggest we find a place to drop our backpacks first, to establish a stronghold—that way, at least, we can ensure freedom to come and go."
