Chapter 882: Chapter 506 I’ll make you feel comfortable like never before!

Molly used her work card to unlock the meeting room door, opened it, and Sean Knight saw that there were a dozen or so people inside, either sitting or standing, clustered into small groups and chatting.

When Molly walked in, everyone stopped talking. Taking advantage of the moment, she brought Sean in, then clapped her hands and said,

"Come, let everyone get acquainted. This is the newcomer who arrived today, and just like you, his name is Luke Anderson. From now on, you’ll be partners."

After finishing, she patted Sean’s arm—being only 165 centimeters tall, that’s where she could reach—smiled, and then turned and left.

The meeting room door closed automatically.

Ignoring the glances from the others, Sean sat down in a corner of the meeting room with his package and took out his mobile phone to play.

He had no intention of making friends with these people; he was here solely to obtain the drug and expose the conspiracy of the drug laboratory. Once his goal was achieved, he would leave immediately.

Therefore, any interaction with anyone here could potentially affect his mission and, of course, might negatively impact others as well.

Sean wasn’t a Holy Mother; he didn’t think about saving these people—everyone was an adult here. Whatever their reasons might be, since they decided to come here, they had to be responsible for their own decisions.

Isn’t there a saying? "Even if you’ve chosen your path, you must walk it to the end, even on your knees"—and if you can’t finish the walk, you will have to bear the consequences.

It’s that simple.

However, although Sean had no plans to interact with these people, there were some who wanted to get close to him.

"Lincoln Harrington, right? Hello, my name is Milan Collins, an international student from XX University," said a young man with a medium build, somewhat delicate features, and a Korean-style appearance politely as he approached Sean. "Just like Professor Molly said, we’re in this together now that we’re here."

Although Sean was uninterested in these people, he had memorized the thirteen individuals present as soon as he entered.

Among the thirteen were four women—or rather, three girls and one woman.

The three girls sat together quietly chatting, most likely having come here together. The woman was sitting alone in the farthest corner of the meeting room, staring into space.

The remaining nine men were divided into groups. One group of five seemed to be around twenty years old, including this Milan Collins. Collins appeared to be a central figure within this group.

Sean guessed these were most likely students.

Another group consisted of three individuals, roughly between thirty and forty years old and dressed simply, likely here for work. They didn’t seem to be having much luck, however.

There was also an eighteen-year-old boy sitting alone at the meeting table, his lively eyes observing the others in the room.

Sean could tell that this young man probably came from a well-off family. His clothes were customized—although no labels were visible, the hidden patterns represented various meanings—

He had learned this much from Cheryl Suweton.

Now that Milan had come to greet him, Sean wondered if Milan was aiming to establish an organization among these people?

Otherwise, what was there to unite in a broken drug trial group?

To consider each other partners as Molly suggested?

Then this laboratory’s staff should be feeling uneasy!

Sean would bet this meeting room definitely had surveillance equipment installed, and every move they made was being monitored. Thinking of making a covert move? Too conspicuous!

Sean gave Milan a glance and said expressionlessly,

"Hello."

Then he continued looking at his phone.

Milan seemed a bit embarrassed but covered it up with a smile and said,

"Since you’re from China, if you encounter any difficulties, feel free to look for me. I’ve been here a while and know some basics. If you go to XX University, just ask any Chinese person, and they should be able to find me."

After speaking, he patted Sean’s shoulder and turned to leave.

He looked carefree but, in Sean’s eyes, rather idiotic.

After greeting Sean, Milan didn’t return to his group but instead went over to the girls, saying with a laugh,

"You ladies must be here to study abroad too, right? How about we get to know each other? We’re all from XX University. It wouldn’t be bad for us, as countrymen, to keep in touch and socialize."

Two of the girls were average-looking, one was particularly sweet-looking; the one with long hair was obviously the leader, who said with a smile,

"Sure, but let’s wait until this drug trial is over."

That was a clear brush-off, and Milan understood. A flash of displeasure crossed his eyes, but he continued to smile and said,

"That sounds good. The most important thing is to finish this task first."

After two rejections, Milan, who initially intended to try his luck with every person, lost interest and went back to his own group.

Before long, a burst of ambiguous laughter echoed from that group.

Sean couldn’t be bothered with these people who were trying to be clever; it was all about bets and saving face.

Then he realized the signal on his mobile phone had disappeared.

Sean looked up, turned towards the entrance, and then the door opened again.

Another six people came in, five men and one woman.

The last to enter were Molly and a white man in his thirties.

This white man was quite handsome—at least, according to what Chinese people would consider handsome. Standing over 1.8 meters tall, with deep-set eyes, pale blue pupils, short hair, he looked neat and tidy in a white coat.
