Chapter 844: Chapter 493 Which One is the Treasure?

What’s going on?

"Boss, be careful!" The guide in front, noticing the light shining in the wrong direction, turned his head and immediately saw the Guide Leader distracted and a snake was already swimming towards him, so he immediately warned him.

The Guide Leader was startled and immediately jumped away to evade the snake’s strike.

Sean Knight also noticed that as long as you block the snakes’ path, their aggressiveness is especially strong.

Fortunately, he had already noticed that there were fewer snakes up ahead, which is why he had suggested moving in this direction.

Indeed, there were now fewer snakes on this side. Sean Knight took a moment to glance into the distance and saw that this direction led to the Location of the houses in the village where there were naturally fewer snakes.

The direction in which the Guide Leader and his group headed toward was the jungle, where naturally there were more snakes.

However, Sean couldn’t worry about too much at the moment. The priority was to get his group to safety!

Thankfully, the direction he chose was the right one. Soon, the number of snakes in front began to thin out, lightening the workload for clearing the way. Those behind also noticed this and felt much relieved, which eased their tense emotions.

"Ah—!" Just then, a scream came from the guide’s group in the distance, drawing everyone’s attention!

Everyone looked over and saw the Guide Leader sitting on the Ground, his face contorted in pain as he clutched his leg, while his flashlight lay off to one side. Another guide was frantically trying to fend off the snakes that had surrounded them.

It was clear without guessing that the Guide Leader had been bitten by a snake!

"Save me... save me!" The Guide Leader had lost his previous composure and was desperately reaching out towards Sean Knight’s group.

Clearly, he knew that his own people had no chance of saving him.

Sean Knight took a bottle of snake antidote from his pocket and threw it towards the Guide Leader with all his might!

The bottle of snake antidote was rather heavy and managed to land three to four meters from the Guide Leader amongst the snakes.

"Quick... quickly help me get that!" The Guide Leader rasped at the other guide, giving an order.

The guide hesitated at first upon seeing the snake antidote roll into the mass of snakes, but still picked up the flashlight and charged over, quickly flicking away snakes to find the bottle.

The snakes were unruly, and he was nearly bitten by a small one. Luckily, his reflexes were sharp, and he was used to dealing with the serpents, eventually managing to fend off the snakes and retrieve the antidote.

But when he turned to rush back to the Guide Leader, he found his boss lying there, eyes open, no longer breathing—

Three snakes had bitten him, and he could see others squirming under his Leader’s clothes, not knowing how many had burrowed in!

The guide, frightened nearly to falling over, came back to his senses to find snakes already encircling him!

"Save me! Save me!" The guide screamed hoarsely for help!

Sean and his group were at ease now, with Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper clearing the snakes, while the others had taken a break.

Hearing the guide’s cries, Lincoln Harrington asked,

"Do we save him or not?"

"Save him!" Sean replied,

"But you guys don’t need to worry, leave it to me!"

With that said, he took two "weapons" from his pocket!

"Wow! Tear gas and Fragmentation Bombs!" Douglas Cooper turned his head to look, "Boss, you can get your hands on these things; impressive!"

Sean Knight grinned then shouted towards the guide,

"Find a place to hide, I’m going to blow it up!"

He said, waving the Fragmentation Grenade in his hand.

"Okay, thank you!" The guide’s face lit up with joy, as if injected with Vitality, he quickly regained his spirits and cleared a path through a few snakes to a crumbling Corner of the Surrounding Wall.

Sean immediately pulled the fuse on the Hand Grenade and threw it over.

"Boom!"

After the loud explosion, the Ground was blasted into a shallow hole, with a wide area affected. Many snakes were blown away, their flesh mangled.

Some snakes, even cut into pieces, still writhed in place, truly tough to the end.

The guide, after the Grenade exploded, immediately escaped the blast zone. Seeing the blasted-open snakes, he was overjoyed and armed with a stick and flashlight, he rushed over.

The Hand Grenade not only killed some snakes. The loud noise, vibration, and shock wave also caused the surrounding snakes to scatter, providing the guide with an opportunity.

On Sean’s side, they weren’t idle either. They helped clear a path to the village, and within a few minutes, the guide finally joined up with Sean’s group.

"Thank you... thank you!" The guide said excitedly.

He was truly grateful to Sean and his group—for otherwise, he would have met an even worse fate than his Boss.

"It’s a pity about your Leader..." Sean shook his head; he actually had no bad feelings towards the Guide Leader, but the man had brought this on himself. When it comes to life and death, you can’t force an ox to drink water.

"Sigh..." The guide lowered his head.

He was saddened by the death of his Boss but was relieved that he was still alive.

"Boss, let’s find a safe place first," Elijah suggested from ahead.

"Alright," Sean nodded, "Let’s go! Although there are fewer snakes now, we must not let our guard down."

Sean continued to direct everyone, and together they headed towards the village. The number of snakes decreased further, and by the time they reached a Courtyard with nothing but a Surrounding Wall, there were hardly any snakes left in the vicinity.
