Chapter 843: Chapter 492: The Disaster of the Python_3
Sean Knight had already seen the snakes that were smeared with antiscolic retreat back into the mass of snakes, the ones behind surging forward, eager to try, with the shadows of snake heads beginning to appear on the Surrounding Wall.
They needed to figure out a solution fast, otherwise they’d only become food for the snakes.
While Haruda was still thinking, Elijah Hastings had already scrambled up the College Wall, then carefully stepped onto the Rooftop to look behind.
"Boss, there are fewer snakes at the back!" Elijah Hastings shouted, "We can break out from here!"
His shout immediately drew everyone’s attention. The Guide’s Leader also leaped to the Wall, climbing towards the Roof.
Sean Knight activated Sky Eye and saw that indeed there were significantly fewer snakes behind the house, and they were all slithering towards the door.
With a little caution and readiness, escaping from here shouldn’t be a problem.
"Then let’s get moving!" Sean Knight made a snap decision.
"Pack up the items..." one of the Guides shouted.
Cheryl Suweton and HarudaTomoko turned to go back and pack their things.
"Let’s go!"
Sean Knight reached out and grabbed Cheryl Suweton, who was about to pack her things, "Forget the items, saving our lives is more important!"
At that moment, Cheryl Suweton followed Sean Knight’s command without question, immediately following him.
Sean Knight helped Cheryl Suweton onto the College Wall near the Rooftop, where Lincoln Harrington was already waiting, and the snakes at the climbing spot had been cleared, so there was no worry of getting bitten.
Cheryl Suweton climbed onto the top of the wall, glanced down, and was a bit scared by the densely packed snake heads, but knowing this was a critical moment, she braced herself not to look and climbed toward the Rooftop.
Elijah Hastings had already jumped down, pulling out a stick from the Rooftop to clear the landing spot of snakes.
The Guide’s Leader also jumped down, looking around for the next landing spot.
"Are you coming or not?" Sean Knight then turned to HarudaTomoko, "Stop taking things, you won’t be able to run! We can come back Tomorrow when it’s Daybreak!"
HarudaTomoko hesitated, but eventually, with her small bag, came to where Cheryl had climbed the wall and, helped by Sean Knight, got up and then carefully followed Cheryl’s lead.
Sean Knight glanced at the Guide who was still packing, then turned and climbed onto the house.
By now, Cheryl had already jumped down under Elijah’s guidance and was running out along the cleared path.
Fortunately, since they were in the jungle, several people were wearing high-top boots, so their feet weren’t very worried about snake bites.
When Sean Knight sprang onto the Rooftop, he found it unsteady and immediately shouted:
"Those who went up, jump down quickly, or this house might collapse!"
Lincoln Harrington and Douglas Cooper immediately slowed down, standing on the wall without climbing, while clearing the snakes climbing up and waiting for Sean Knight to jump down.
Another Guide, not heeding the warning, rushed onto the Rooftop and jumped toward the back.
Sean Knight also jumped down and then waved at Lincoln Harrington and the others.
The last Guide, who had been packing, now started climbing the wall with his big bag, while Lincoln Harrington and Douglas Cooper had already gone up to the rooftop and jumped down.
The people below each held a stick, pushing snakes to the side one by one.
The two ladies walked on with trembling courage.
The few snakes behind were only relative; there were still many rolling around, surging this way.
"That way!" Sean Knight, with his good vision, pointed in a direction.
However, the Guide’s Leader ahead glanced at that direction and continued to break through in his chosen route.
Sean Knight’s indicated direction had more snakes, and naturally, the Leader was unwilling to take the risk.
However, Elijah knew about Sean’s good vision and immediately changed direction.
Then a problem occurred; with two people clearing ahead, the space they’d cleared was originally wide, but now that they’d split up, the cleared space became much narrower.
Without any hesitation, Cheryl instantly followed Elijah, heading in the direction that Sean had pointed out.
Chika hesitated for a moment but, seeing that Sean Knight, Lincoln Harrington, and the others were following up behind, also followed Cheryl.
It was the Guide who followed the Guide’s Leader.
The Guide’s Leader turned back and asked Haruda loudly:
"Miss Haruda, there are fewer snakes this way. Won’t you come and join us? I think we will be able to break through very soon!"
Haruda thought to herself that there were three people on that side, with one more at the back, so without asking, she knew which side was more likely to break through. Despite having more snakes on this side, there were also more people!
She did not speak, pretending not to hear the Guide’s Leader and kept close to Cheryl.
The Guide’s Leader saw this and grew even more sullen.
He stopped worrying about Haruda, accelerated his clearing efforts, and quickly advanced much farther ahead than Elijah.
The other Guide caught up and began clearing snakes faster too.
However, on Sean’s side, with Elijah leading, followed by Cheryl and Haruda, with Sean behind to expand their triumph, and Lincoln Harrington and Douglas in the rear, they formed a closed loop consistently maintaining a large snake-free space.
Just then, the last Guide carrying his pack reached the edge of the Rooftop, looked down, and then prepared to jump.
"Boom!"
Just as he was about to jump, the Rooftop suddenly collapsed!
The man was buried in the Soil. Luckily, the Rooftop itself was covered with plenty of Tree Branches and grass, so he wasn’t badly hurt.
When the Guide clambered out in a sorry state, he suddenly realized that he was surrounded by snakes!
"Boss, save me!" The Guide, no longer bothering to look for his package, hastily picked up a stick and frantically started to push the surrounding snakes away while shouting.
The Guide’s Leader hadn’t expected such a turn of events and was stunned for a second, then wavered.
He had already run about thirty to forty meters. If he turned back now, he’d have to carve out a new path, and all previous efforts would be for naught!
But if he didn’t turn back, after all, it was one of his own people, someone who had always followed him. If he was cold-hearted now, what would the one still behind think?
He looked towards Sean Knight and the others.
Sean and his group hadn’t stopped either, continuing to push forward.
Their way back had also been cut off; turning back would be just as difficult!
The Guide’s Leader bit his lip, about to turn back when he heard a scream!
