Chapter 841: Chapter 492 Disaster of the Rampaging Python
The Bengal tiger, currently the most populous and one of the largest tiger species in the world, may not be well-known to the Chinese people, but its ferocity is certainly unmatched by ordinary predators.
After all, any animal crowned with the name "tiger" is essentially recognized as the king of beasts.
In the wild, ordinary humans, even armed, are basically lower in the food chain.
Those without professional training, even if they are armed, would be easy prey if surrounded by a few wolves. But animals like wolves are simply negligible in front of a tiger.
A few days ago, there was a news story about a large dog chasing a little girl, which was stopped by a janitor auntie, allowing the girl to escape.
The dog could stand on its hind legs and reach the janitor auntie’s shoulder, almost as tall as a person.
At that time, some people in the comment section said the auntie was too timid, and if it were them, they could have kicked the dog to death, and so on.
In reality, could an ordinary person even hit such a big dog? That’s simply impossible.
The reaction speed of dogs and cats can compete with snakes. Just think of the speed of a snake striking to bite or attack someone—ordinary people have no way to dodge it.
However, it is indeed possible to dodge dogs and cats.
A large dog can completely knock down an average adult human and launch a biting attack on vital areas.
If faced with a tiger, however, such dogs can only run away with tails between their legs.
This is a matter of pure dominance.
So even armed guides, faced with the roar of a Bengal tiger, feel a little intimidated.
After all, if the bullet doesn’t hit a vital spot, then the person holding the gun is next in line for bad luck.
This roar not only scared the guides; Cheryl Suweton and Haruda Tomoko also turned pale.
They are, after all, not entirely clueless silly sweet girls—tigers still terrify them.
But when the guides looked at the others, they found Shawn Knight and Elijah Hastings eager and excited!
What does this mean? Are they not afraid?
Shawn and the others exchanged glances, truly excited.
Last time they returned from Siberia, the tiger bones Shawn and his group brought back were used to brew wine, which was very well-received at home.
But there’s too little to go around, with each family having numerous aunts and relatives. Once relatives find out, each family wants a piece, and there’s simply not enough to distribute.
Tiger products, however, are banned for sale domestically in China.
If one seeks them, one can only look abroad.
You might say it’s not worth it to make a trip specifically to hunt a tiger in the outer Northeast.
But isn’t this encounter now an opportunity?
Shawn and his group would naturally not seek out trouble, but if a rash tiger comes attacking them, they can’t be blamed for what happens next.
The tiger’s roar was getting closer, and Shawn and his group were loading their guns, weapons in hand, ready for the big fellow to approach.
The two armed guides were also prepared.
They knew very well that the dilapidated house wouldn’t withstand a tiger’s attack.
To ensure their own safety, they could only rely on the guns in their hands.
The two ladies hid anxiously inside the house, watching the outside.
Shawn and his team’s calm and excitement made Cheryl no longer afraid and even aroused her curiosity.
Ordinary people often feel admiration and reverence for the brave.
The tiger’s roar was already outside the village; it seemed very irritable, not possessing the usual quietness of a hunting predator, occasionally letting out roars, as if it was proclaiming the arrival of a king of beasts, or proving something to some entity.
However, Shawn and his group, in full readiness, did not witness the tiger’s entrance into the village.
The tiger made a lot of noise outside the village, but never entered it.
Anxious, Shawn and his group discussed and decided to head out towards the direction of the tiger’s roar. The three guides stayed in the house, protecting the women.
When Shawn and his group went out, they discovered the tiger had moved away from the village, its current location unknown.
Shawn activated Sky Eye and found many traces around the village, even urine marks, but the tiger was nowhere to be seen.
Returning to the village with some disappointment, they discussed the situation on the way back.
"How come the tiger approached the entrance but didn’t dare to come in?" Douglas Cooper couldn’t figure it out.
"Could it be that we killed the snake and left some scent behind?" Elijah Hastings speculated.
"Is there something in the village that scares the tiger, so it didn’t dare to come in?" Lincoln Harrington also guessed.
Shawn opened Sky Eye again and scanned the village.
But really, there was nothing to find.
Back in the camp’s courtyard, facing the gazes of the guides and two ladies, Shawn shook his head and said,
"The tiger has already left."
"That’s great, we’re safe!" exclaimed the guide who wasn’t armed.
"What a pity, otherwise we could have gotten another set of tiger bones!" mutters Douglas Cooper.
"Alright, let’s hurry up, finish eating and get some sleep," Shawn waved his hand, "Tomorrow we’ll explore the village further, there’s still a lot to do."
Although they were in the courtyard, fires were still lit all around.
The roar of the Bengal tiger had subsided, but there were clearly other wild animals in the vicinity.
