Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Who Won’t Suffer Loss?

As Sean Knight raised his head contentedly and stood up, his gaze met Jason Caldwell’s astonished eyes!

"What’s wrong?" Sean was startled and took a step back subconsciously, almost falling into the canal.

"Bosuns, what just happened to you?"

Only then did Sean realize that he’d just done something that would look absurd to an outsider!

How to explain it? A bit awkward, awaiting a response online...

Forget it, let’s just bluff!

"This is a very ancient skill from the East called feng shui," Sean explained seriously.

"FENG–SHUI?"

Jason had a dumbfounded look on his face when he heard the term Sean said.

"Yes, feng shui," Sean said solemnly. "Do you know why I found the treasure so quickly at old Mr. George’s place last time? Because I learned feng shui!"

Jason’s look of sudden realization and admiration made Sean feel a little out of character.

"I think there should be treasure hidden below here." Sean glanced down, and his Sky Eye swept over the scene to find that the gold in the box was fine, but the saturated green jadeite had turned into a gray-white stone.

And yet his spirits were more abundant than ever before!

Did the Sky Eye have a mind of its own now?

Could it be?

Sean was consumed with fear!

"Then..." Jason rubbed his hands, gripping the iron shovel tightly.

Sean looked at the iron shovel in his hand, then at the thick concrete base, and shook his head, saying:

"Let’s go to the car to get the tools."

At the entrance, they told the chubby white middle-aged man, then went to get the tools – actually just hammers, cutters, and the like.

However, Sean did put down the gold from his backpack.

This thing was easy to misunderstand.

Then the two of them went in again with the tools, making a show of turning around. Sean was shocked.

In the remaining two spots, one spot had ten irregular pieces of gold and few pieces of jewelry.

In the other spot, there were tens of various colored gemstone roughs buried, as well as a small amount of finished jewelry.

The value of each of these two treasure hiding spots was at least 200,000 dollars or more.

Of course, it could be even higher.

And the locations of these two points were quite ingenious. The gold was not far from a very old power pole.

Since its prominence, the power pole could easily be used as a target by people, but the gold buried ten meters away from it was basically hidden in plain sight and ignored.

The gemstone roughs were simply in the center of the open farmland of the mine.

If it weren’t for Sean looking at the simple line representation on the notebook at the intersection of the farmland diagonals, he wouldn’t have believed that this hiding spot could be found after decades!

"Let’s go and talk to that chubby white guy."

Sean felt that it would be better to chat with the white fat man first and excavate one of the treasure hiding spots later.

"What? You guys found the treasure?" The white fat man who registered them asked in disbelief before laughing, "Where’s the loot?"

"Haven’t dug it up yet." Sean spread his hands and said, "And digging requires your authorization."

"Authorization?" The white fat man thought Sean and Jason were a bit funny.

"I need to dig under a concrete base of a canal sluice gate."

"Damn! How could there be treasure in such a place?" The white fat man thought Sean was talking nonsense.

"Why not? There’s no harm in trying."

"But the irrigation season is about to begin!" The white fat man was unwilling, attracting these treasure hunters here was to cheat money, not to mobilize everyone needlessly!

"If there’s treasure, that’s another story. If there’s no treasure, I’ll compensate for the loss." Sean didn’t want to dwell on it.

"Fine." The white fat man compromised. After all, it was written in the contract that the manor had an obligation to cooperate with the treasure hunters in finding the treasure.

The chubby white middle-aged man called for a hired worker with a walkie-talkie and went with Sean and the others to the concrete base.

Hammer and steel chisel, Jason and Sean Knight took turns smashing for over half an hour before they managed to break the concrete and reveal the wooden box inside.

Their hammering attracted two groups of treasure hunters, including the man and woman they had encountered at the main hall.

When they saw the two smashing the concrete base, the man and woman in the treasure hunting group just laughed and left. The other group of three women stayed behind curiously, sipping their water while watching.

Sean guessed they just wanted to take a break here and watch the excitement.

However, when the box came into view, the youngest woman among the three screamed.

The scream immediately attracted treasure hunters from all around, who rushed towards them.

Sean ignored them, carefully examining the wooden box.

The box was broken, and Sean bent down to clear away the cement pieces, took out the gold, and the two grey stones inside.

The stones were of no use, so he threw them aside.

The hired workers who had initially looked at Jason and Sean like they were idiots, now had full faces of envy!

Four pieces of gold! Such big pieces, one piece at least had to be one kilogram!

Four kilograms, together, it had to be over 200,000 dollars.

Even if they had to give Joseph forty percent, they would still have over 100,000 dollars!

He distinctly remembered, these two were here for the first time, and newcomers were this lucky?

Other treasure hunters ran over, their eyes widening when they saw the gold bars in Sean’s hands!

One of them cried regretfully:

"I’ve been to this place! I scanned it with a metal detector, I must have found gold. I just thought there were reinforcing steel bars inside... Fuck!"

"Such a lucky Chinese boy!" someone envied.

"I never thought there would be treasure inside, but they found it! However, now that the treasure has been found, do we need to continue searching... "

"Of course, lucky Chinese boy! Let’s go!"

Some people left, while others stayed to watch the excitement.

The white fat middle-aged man, who had rushed over upon hearing the news, loudly told those treasure hunters who were planning to leave:

"Don’t go! There is more than one treasure site in the manor! You still have a chance!"

"Fuck! That’s impossible!"

"Bullshit! You must be lying!"

Some people didn’t believe him, but others did:

"Really? Then I need to put in more effort!"

"I think I have good luck. I want to keep looking!"

The white fat middle-aged man arrived at the sluice gate, saw the gold in Sean’s hands, and sighed at the boy’s luck!

But he still smiled and said to Sean:

"Congratulations! Chinese guy! Let’s go, let’s talk about how to deal with this gold."

"You take forty percent, and I keep sixty percent."

Sean didn’t move and took out a plastic bag and spring scale from his backpack, put the gold bars in the plastic bag, and weighed it:

"It’s a total of 2,424 grams. Your forty percent, which is about 974 grams. According to the current gold price... "

"No, no, no!" the white fat man shook his head:

"That’s not how it works. You also destroyed our sluice gate, so we get sixty percent, and you get forty percent!

Sean looked up, surprised, and asked the other party:

"Are you serious?"

The white fat middle-aged man grinned:

"Of course, it’s true. This sluice gate has a long history and was ruined by you.

Actually, your share of the gold should have been used to compensate for the damage, but considering our partnership... We’ll just take an extra twenty percent!"

Looking at the smiling white fat middle-aged man, sean hesitated for a moment, then laughed.

He laughed brightly!
