Chapter 829: Chapter 488: Really Not a Good Bird!
Dutt Rivera took a liking to Cheryl Suweton at first sight.
It could be said that Haruda Tomoko was quite beautiful and had a lot of charm.
Otherwise, Dutt wouldn’t have pursued her in university—Dutt, a prince of a princely state whose ancestors had long been a part of India, could be considered from an illustrious family there. In terms of reputation, heritage, and genetics, he was quite remarkable.
Going to Waseda University was partly about spending money, and partly about making friends.
Normally, elite Indian youth who study abroad would head to Europe and America, after all, in their upper-class society, those places were considered the standard.
But Dutt chose Waseda University because firstly, his house had business collaborations with companies in Japan and secondly, it was just about spending money and not necessarily about learning anything, so off to Waseda University he went.
Dutt wasn’t exactly a playboy, but given his household’s circumstances and local customs, you’d know it when he came out to greet you, flanked by a dozen beautiful maid-servants.
Cheryl Suweton might not be much more beautiful than Dutt’s maid-servants, but her aura had thoroughly captivated him.
It made sense when you thought about it. Even if Cheryl was rebellious within the Royal Family, the rules she absorbed from her childhood within the Royals and the ambience of noble life had cultivated a charm that Haruda Tomoko simply couldn’t match.
Not to mention the maid-servants.
If it hadn’t been for seeing Cheryl linking arms with Sean Knight, Dutt might have already leaped out to greet her proactively.
Even so, Haruda Tomoko’s eyes flashed with displeasure, not expecting to be so embarrassingly upstaged by Cheryl just one day after Dutt had been infatuated with her!
However, she was a deep and calculating person, so she acted as if she didn’t see anything and came over with a smile, saying,
"Come, let me introduce you. These two are very famous in the Treasure Hunter Field, Cheryl Suweton, indeed a point of pride for us women.
Sean Knight, not long into the business, but already a dark horse, having found treasures that others might not find in their lifetimes."
After hearing Haruda Tomoko’s introduction, Dutt finally shifted his gaze from Cheryl to Sean Knight.
Sean Knight was also sizing up this Dutt.
From Tomoko’s introduction, he understood that the two of them were about the same age.
But looking at him now, Dutt seemed notably older than himself, perhaps due to the climate of South Asia.
Genetically handsome, he could be considered a handsome man, at least by Indian standards.
The number of maid-servants and guards around him exceeded twenty, and looking at the Manor, he was clearly someone with wealth and power.
Dutt said in a very gentlemanly manner,
"Welcome to my Manor as guests!"
While speaking, his eyes still glanced at Cheryl, but seeing that she remained arm-in-arm with Sean Knight and hardly rested her gaze on him, he felt somewhat dejected.
It had to be said, Dutt’s Manor was indeed large, and the inside was turned into a sort of miniature garden, with gardens, stone paths, recreational facilities, swimming pools, etc., in abundance.
There were benches for resting, hanging baskets, and swings adorned with flowers everywhere along the road, which were quite cute.
Sean Knight and the others’ luggage had already been taken to the Guest Room by Dutt’s attendants, who, while accompanying them, introduced,
"This Manor was built by my great Grandfather when he was still a prince. Back then, my great Grandfather was one of the first to declare allegiance to India from the prince state and was treated very well, which helped our Family retain some power and wealth..."
Looking at the buildings within the Manor, some with a lot of history, it seemed that Dutt was indeed telling the truth.
"Your Guest Rooms have been arranged, and after you freshen up, we can dine." Upon reaching the Room, Dutt smiled and said, "Here, it’s just like being at your own Home, and I hope you can feel my sincerity."
The maid-servants escorted Sean Knight and the others to the Guest Room, helping them unpack their luggage and change clothes.
Sean Knight wasn’t used to it, so he asked the maid wearing a Sari to wait outside while he changed into his Clothes himself, and was about to wash when the door opened.
"I can manage by myself, please wait outside," Sean Knight said, thinking it was one of the maid-servants without turning around.
"It’s me," Cheryl said with a smile, "I didn’t expect you to be so principled..."
Sean Knight turned to see Cheryl and didn’t reply to her, instead asking,
"You changed pretty quickly, huh?"
"Yeah, I think I’ll shower later tonight. We don’t have much time now, nor do I want to. How are you feeling?"
"Me?" Sean Knight said while wiping his face with a towel, "I don’t feel good."
"Why not?" Cheryl raised an eyebrow in confusion, "I feel quite good."
"Because that Dutt has taken a fancy to you," Sean Knight put down the towel and looked at Cheryl, "and by the looks of it, even if he knew we were in a relationship, he wouldn’t give up..."
"Who cares about him!" Cheryl, who had more suitors than could fit in a platoon, had seen plenty like this. She stepped forward, slinging her arm around Sean’s waist, "His feelings are his business, what does it have to do with me? I only like you..."
With that, she moved in for a kiss.
Sean Knight reciprocated, and it took a while for the two to part.
"How is that, satisfied?" Cheryl asked with a proud smile.
"Satisfied, very satisfied," Sean Knight replied, smiling and wrapping his arms around her to leave the room.
The two of them appeared together in the Manor’s living room, causing Dutt, who was waiting there, to look downcast once more.
Fortunately, it was at this moment that Tomoko showed up, and with a smile, she asked,
