Chapter 703: Chapter 443: This is Just the Beginning!_3
Apparently, the warrior recognized Sean Knight and his companions.
When the car approached the end of the village, Elder Iman and Edgar and other warriors came to greet them.
"It’s great that you’re all safe and sound," Elder Iman said to Sean with a smile, "So many people went into the desert before, and most of them disappeared. We were all worried about you."
Iman and the people in the village could tell that Sean and his friends genuinely cared.
Sean laughed and said:
"We had good luck. We found an underground river and encountered no dangers, but we didn’t find the Divine Temple."
They decided to stick to the story of not finding it.
It wasn’t that they wanted to hide the discovery of the treasure, but rather that they couldn’t be sure if the enemy’s accomplices would show up here eventually.
It was better to be cautious!
"If you didn’t find it, you didn’t find it. We still have some gemstones here, and we can continue to trade with you," Iman said.
"Of course, sounds great," Sean nodded, "By the way, has anyone come to make trouble for the village again?"
He noticed the area near the end of the village had some blast pits and some plants had been destroyed.
"Three days after you left, a few cars came to our village," Elder Iman said slowly:
"Our warriors stopped them and asked them what they wanted. They opened fire on our warriors right away—"
Elder Iman paused before continuing:
"Before, just these men would have been enough to destroy the safety of our village."
He looked at Sean with gratitude in his eyes:
"Because of your training of our warriors, our people were prepared, armed, and had the ability to fight back."
"So you drove them off?" Sean asked.
"Actually, we took them all in," Elder Iman said boldly:
"If we had let them go, they would have brought more people, eventually destroying our village. Only by keeping them all here can our village be safe—"
He lowered his head, then looked up again, saying slowly:
"Although it cost us the lives of eleven warriors, it was worth it! We’re worth it!"
Sean didn’t know what to say.
Elder Iman didn’t need consolation, but this situation seemed like a double-edged sword.
However, from Iman’s perspective, there was no other way to solve the problem.
This was their hometown, and the entire village couldn’t just move away—where could they move to in this day and age, in such a place?
For these warriors, fighting for their hometown and their families was a righteous cause.
"By the way, Mr. Knight, we also prepared a gift for you," Elder Iman said to Sean with a smile:
"Although we got it from someone else, I think you can use it."
"A gift?" Sean was surprised.
"Follow me!" Elder Iman said.
"Alright," Sean followed.
Next to Iman’s house, a nearly new pickup truck was parked.
"This is the gift I am giving you," Iman pointed to the pickup truck, "When I saw that you only had one car returning, I knew you could use it!"
"Of course, we can use it, thank you!" Sean smiled.
Although this truck wasn’t as expensive as an off-road vehicle, it had four-wheel drive and loading capacity, making it just as useful.
"You can also take a look at the stuff in the carriage compartment. I think there might be a chance of cooperation between us in the future," Iman said to Sean.
It was then that Sean discovered there were stones inside the carriage compartment, covered by a cloth. He lifted the cloth and found that the stones were actually ores.
Not ordinary stones.
Ores!
These ores were translucent and slightly yellow. When Sean activated his Sky Eye, he found that they were lithium ores.
Metallic lithium has a wide range of applications, especially in recent years with the popularity of new energy vehicles, resulting in a continued increase in lithium prices.
A thought crossed Sean’s mind, he asked Elder Iman:
"Did your villagers discover these ores?"
"Yes, they did, right near our village," Elder Iman said with a smile:
"Actually, two years ago, people came here for mineral exploration and found these ores in a dried-up salt lake near our village."
"No one came to mine them since?" Sean asked, surprised. Although this material wasn’t as valuable as gold mines on the surface, it should be better than iron mines if managed properly.
"No," Elder Iman said meaningfully:
"Although our country is weak, it is still a country.
There aren’t any wars with neighboring countries, so mining requires our approval.
Our nation’s system is different from yours. This mine is within our village, so it must be agreed upon by the villagers, and if we disagree, it won’t be allowed."
Sean understood Iman’s meaning.
However, mining was not a process that could be rushed.
He thought for a while and then said to Elder Iman:
"I have my own mining company, and if the elder doesn’t mind, I’d like to send some technicians over and analyze these ores.
If we can cooperate, we’d like to work with you... "
"If it’s you, I think it should be no problem. Our villagers and our warriors can see that you are a trustworthy friend!"
So the framework for this partnership was more or less established.
If there really was a lithium mine here, Sean was considering bringing the Tundra mining staff.
Right now, he didn’t know how the gold mine was doing on the Mongolian side.
However, either way, Sean believed that the money invested would yield returns.
Things definitely wouldn’t get chaotic on the Mongolian side. And here, if things got chaotic, Sean believed he could handle it through his connections.
After receiving the pickup truck, and staying in the village for one more day, Sean made an agreement with Elder Iman that they would come back soon, and then they left by car.
Watching the well-organized lines of warriors and villagers saying goodbye as the car left, Douglas Cooper couldn’t help but say:
"If it weren’t for the fact we have things to do, I’d really want to stay here. These people are so pure!"
Sean smiled and asked:
"Do you want to stay?"
"No way! I was just saying—there’s no internet, no signal; it’d drive me crazy!" Douglas quickly refused.
Then, they encountered a convoy.
