Chapter 702: Chapter 443: This is Just the Beginning!_2
One hour later, dozens of people dressed as Divine Servants arrived at the location of the Divine Temple.
They found bullet shells and traces of blood in the sand, as well as some abandoned items that hadn’t been completely cleaned up.
But none of the young Divine Servants were left.
Those who had offended the gods were also not found.
Seeing the hollow place, the leader spoke loudly to his companions:
"Our companions have been summoned by God and will gain eternal life! We must protect God’s secret and await His return—all those who attempt to blaspheme against God must be eliminated!"
Sean Knight and his friends were not aware that someone wanted to wipe them out. They stopped at a turning point.
Since the three of them had walked this way before, it was not surprising. However, Lincoln Harrington had come through the underground river, so he looked around, trying to memorize the place.
"Let’s rest for a while; we should be safe for now." Sean said, "Eat something and wait until we regain our energy before setting off again."
The four of them found a hidden but relatively safe spot to sit down and prepared their belongings.
"Boss, we can make a lot of money this time, huh?" Douglas Cooper laughed, "If we do this a few times a year, we’ll get rich!"
"We should be able to split several million." Sean replied while eating, "Elijah Hastings provided the clue, so he gets a bigger share. You two will get relatively less. But it’s all relative. Several million is definitely there!"
Though each of them had carried out a lot of valuable goods, they all knew that finding this place mainly depended on Sean.
And at the moment when Sean decided to save Lincoln before searching for the treasure, both Elijah and Douglas had already thought about entrusting their lives to Sean without regret.
So when Sean talked about distribution, they didn’t even bother to calculate the value of the items on their backs but rather happily discussed what they would do after getting the money.
"My wife has returned home, and I’m only halfway through my world tour. I plan to keep traveling."
"You better be careful, then." Douglas joked:
"I’ve heard that zero-dollar tourism is becoming common, and some people have a bad attitude towards us due to politicians and unscrupulous media propaganda!"
"Don’t worry." Elijah dismissed the concern, "I listen to advice and understand the rules. Besides, my fists aren’t useless either."
"You are happy now; both Lincoln and I are still single." Douglas said enviously, "No, when we get back, I have to go to matchmaking events."
"That’s the only way for you." Elijah joked, "Otherwise, with your frequent missions, you won’t have time to find a girlfriend!"
"It’s the same for you!" Douglas glared at him, "You just got lucky finding my sister-in-law..."
"You’re right. I feel like I just got lucky." Elijah didn’t deny it, "Ever since I followed Boss, things have been going smoothly for me."
Sean waved his hand: "Don’t say it’s because of me. Your own lives and your own fate are responsible."
Lincoln suddenly chimed in:
"If we have a longer break later on, I’m considering matchmaking too."
"Are you jealous of me?" Elijah gloated, "Are you envious of my happiness?"
Douglas looked at Elijah’s smug face and couldn’t help but feel irritated, but he couldn’t deny that Elijah was right.
He wanted to find a girlfriend too.
After some teasing and eating, they rested up and set off again.
When night fell, the group intending to camp heard the roar of an airplane again.
"This thing won’t die, it’s like a cockroach! Is there no end to this?" Douglas looked up at the plane sweeping across the sky, resembling a bird.
"As long as the treasure is not in their hands, they won’t give up." Lincoln threw in a comment and then stopped looking at the plane. He set up his tent, put away his belongings, and went on night watch.
Sean crawled into his tent, saying:
"Stop worrying about other people’s business, and focus on resting. We have to get up early tomorrow to continue our journey!"
The night passed without incident.
Elijah and the others took turns on night watch. Sean initially wanted to join them, but they refused him, citing his inexperience.
So even though he didn’t need to sleep to endure, Sean went to sleep without any problems and wasn’t affected by anything.
By the time they woke up, it was just starting to get light.
Since they had undergone energy transformation, resting for three to five hours was enough to meet their physiological needs for sleep.
They hurried on their way, taking advantage of the cool weather.
After that, they heard the sound of the airplane several times, but each time the interval was longer.
By the time they reached their off-road vehicle, there had been no sound of an airplane for half a day.
They didn’t know whether it had given up or moved on to another location.
As for the Divine Servants, they never saw them.
In order to drive the car back, the four of them directly pumped the oil from one car into another.
This way, there would be no problem driving back.
When they returned to the village of Elder Iman, they were shocked to find that it seemed as if another battle had taken place here!
When Sean and his friends were a few hundred meters away from the village in their car, they suddenly saw someone standing up behind the stones at the end of the village, waving a submachine gun at them.
