Chapter 651: Chapter 421: Fighting Outer Mongolia Again_2
"I can imagine that you must have been so handsome at the time!" Sean Knight spoke as he rubbed oil on her, "You must have felt so proud, didn’t you?"
"Of course!" Lana Brown responded, "I couldn’t let you down by being here!"
Sean Knight was pleased, and gave her butt a slap, saying:
"Alright, turn over."
"What do you mean turn over? Are you making pancakes?" Lana Brown flirted as she turned around, "Rub it well and don’t take advantage of me..."
Before she could finish, Sean Knight’s mobile phone rang.
"Wait, I need to answer this call."
Seeing that it was from Kathy Lewis, Sean Knight patted Lana Brown and told her:
"I’ll continue after the call."
"You go ahead."
Sean Knight picked up the phone.
"Mr. Knight, the Tundra Mining Company deal is basically completed. Now the full ownership of the company, after two steps, is entirely in your hands."
"Can outsiders find it out?"
"Under normal circumstances, they can’t," Kathy Lewis said, "Unless they intentionally investigate the company. But generally, no one would do this."
"That’s fine, you’ve worked hard this time."
"Mr. Knight, this is my job. And, the Tundra Mining Company needs profitable points now, do you..."
"I do indeed have a confirmed gold mine here. If the staff there can confirm, I can take them to it - but the mine is in Outer Mongolia, does the company have a qualification for this field?"
"Yes, they do. Tundra Mining has international mining qualifications, very complete. Other companies want to acquire it precisely for this reason."
"Alright then, you arrange for someone to go to Outer Mongolia, and contact me."
"Okay."
After Kathy Lewis hung up the phone, Lana Brown was too impatient to continue applying the oil and asked Sean Knight:
"Are you leaving?"
"Yes, I’ll go to Outer Mongolia in a few days. There’s something I need to confirm."
"Alright." Knowing Sean Knight was leaving, Lana Brown felt reluctant, but she knew there was no use in persuasion.
"I’ll come when I’m free. Besides, I might send my family to play here in the days to come. Watch out for them."
"Ah! Okay!" Hearing this, Lana Brown felt excited again. She had a mixed feeling of gain and loss, "So... how should I introduce myself?"
"Just say... you’re my girlfriend!"
"Alright!"
In a week, Sean Knight left Big Island with Elijah Hastings and two others, changed planes in Jakarta City, and headed to Ulan Bator.
Originally, Sean Knight intended to have Lincoln Harrington stay behind to recuperate, but Lincoln insisted on going. He claimed that his injuries have healed.
In fact, Sean Knight’s Sky Eye could tell that Lincoln’s shoulder fracture had truly healed.
Since he insisted, they left together.
Upon arriving at Ulan Bator, they found Edward Shermer-the newly appointed overseas manager for Tundra Mining, who had been waiting there for three days.
Edward Shermer was a Russian-American.
Under the current international situation, Edward Shermer felt a sense of being marginalized in America. Although he’d spent eight years at BHP Billiton with excellent records, he hadn’t been able to find a suitable job.
This time, being contacted by Kathy Lewis, he hoped to prove his worth, slap some peers in the face, and improve his living standard.
After all, loans and taxes in America were high-provided he wanted to live a high class life.
Edward Shermer, a Russian academic, wore glasses and was very refined, bearing no resemblance to a polar bear.
Upon meeting Sean Knight, Edward Shermer introduced himself in a courteous manner without any anxiety from the wait.
However, some of the staff he brought seemed impatient.
They had waited for three days, only to meet some Chinese people. This left them quite displeased.
Plus, there’s this ambiguous attitude towards the Beautiful Country on the Outer Mongolia side, so these people feel they ought to be superior.
However, Sean Knight didn’t pay them any mind. After a simple introduction with Edward Shermer, they hit the road together.
This time, Sean Knight was cast as a business partner for the Tundra Mining Company, providing possible mining locations.
Sean Knight and his team navigated the route skillfully, renting an off-road vehicle for the journey.
Edward Shermer and the rest of the staff were accompanied by a Mongolian staff member, following behind the off-road vehicle in a bus.
To Sean Knight’s surprise, Edward Shermer voluntarily wanted to ride in the large off-road vehicle.
Sean Knight didn’t refuse. He too wanted to find out what kind of person Edward Shermer was.
Edward Shermer spoke good English and understood some Chinese, not very proficiently, but it was barely sufficient for daily conversation.
"Actually, I’ve always wanted to work in China. Many of my friends, even their children are in China. They say life in China is really good, at least they don’t worry about being attacked at night."
At this moment, Edward Shermer was sipping from a small bottle of white spirit from time to time and said, "And I heard from friends that you Chinese people call us foreigners, but you’re very friendly to foreigners!"
Sean Knight thought of the incident reported by Lana Brown, wondering if foreigners thought they had "priority", apart from their own arrogance, may have been spoiled by some people?
"But I’ve heard that the law is very strict in your country. I’m afraid I couldn’t handle it. After all, a few who committed crimes there have been sentenced to death..."
Edward Shermer said with a hint of fear.
"As long as you don’t kill, deal drugs or break the law, our country’s police won’t sentence you to death." Douglas Cooper, joked, "Of course, you must abide by the local laws wherever you go..."
"So, we’re still Chinese. Even though we’ve been overseas for quite a while." Elijah Hastings lifted a small bottle of white spirit and clinked it with Edward Shermer. This stuff sure packs a punch.
Along the way, Sean Knight realized that Edward Shermer was a pretty decent person on a regular basis. He was not pretentious, had the straightforwardness of the Russians, but was also quite crafty.
Like he was subtly prying information from Sean Knight and his team during the journey.
However, after several bottles of white spirit and a dozen of bags of drunkard’s peanuts, neither side revealed their true intentions.
Ever deceitful — just like the legendary fox spirits!
When they reached the mountain that Sean Knight remembered, the entrance to the cave had already been buried by the windsand and left no trace of its former existence.
Occasionally, one could see people riding motorbikes to this place, leaving tyre marks on the ground.
A staff member from Mongolia got off the bus, rushed over to Edward Shermer, and suggested,
"Mr Shermer, it’s a bit dangerous here, how about we change locations?"
"What’s so dangerous here? Wolves or bears?"
"No. There have been rumors of man-eating monsters appearing here recently, emerging from the ground and dragging people underground..."
Edward Shermer was not frightened by this at all. On the contrary, his curiosity was piqued.
"Has anyone captured it? What’s it like?"
"No." The staff member was not present when it happened, but he was fairly familiar with the incident, "Some people were said to be looking for treasure here, stumbled upon the monster’s lair, and then..."
He thought for a moment and continued,
"They say the monster was blown up in the end, and some people were injured."
"Has anything similar happened since?" Edward Shermer asked regretfully that no one had captured it. "Has anyone seen it again?"
"No one has seen it since."
Edward Shermer shook his head. He immediately dismissed it as a local rumor.
So he no longer paid any attention to the staff member and turned to Sean Knight,
"Mr. Knight, is the mining area here?"
Sean Knight pointed to a big mountain in the distance and said,
"No, it’s over there. But the road is not good."
"Then, let’s go directly to the mining spot. I want to see what the mining spot you’re talking about is like as soon as possible and determine whether it has any mining value."
Sean Knight saw Edward Shermer so dedicated, he was naturally very happy. So he got into the off-road vehicle and led the way.
He thought to himself, what will happen next should be pretty smooth going, right?
